Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, and may do well with a larger female dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! If interested in Charlie, please fill out our foster or adoption application online: www.salvagedsoulspetrescue.org.

Story
Hello, I'm Willow. I'm a sweet gal who loves nothing more than a warm lap and gentle strokes. I do get a bit anxious when left alone, and crates, well, they're not my favorite. I prefer the company of humans to other dogs, they're just not my cup of tea. I'm looking for a loving home where I can spend my golden years, showering my new family with love and affection. Will you be my forever home?FOSTER TESTIMONIAL: "I took Willow to a nearby nursing home and she was an absolute hit with the residents! She walked around and greeted all of the residents that were sitting in the common area and enjoyed getting pets from them. She was such a calm presence and she even laid down and relaxed while we were there. She does a good sit on command and rode wonderfully in the car. There was another dog at the nursing home as well and she sniffed him a bit and was happy to coexist throughout the visit. She is an absolute sweetheart. The residents requested that she come back!" "I took Willow out to Trinity Groves for a long walk across the bridge and some relaxation in the sun. She rode fantastic in the car and is great on walks. She zig zags a little on the leash, but it's manageable. She enjoys walking up to other people and sniffing all the new sights and smells. After a long walk, I laid down a blanket in the grassy area and she LOVED basking in the sunshine. She is a cuddle bug! She snuggled up to me and kept rolling on her back to get some belly rubs. She is such a calm, sweet dog with a heart of gold".Come meet me any day noon to 6pm at 2400 Lone Star Drive.

Sir Everest is new to the DFW program. He is settling in nicely with his foster's pack and beginning to relax in the home. Everest is an older guy, possibly 7-9 years old. Everest is a perfect example of how we need to give time to our rescues to adjust and acclimate to new environments. He is gaining weight and has been neutered and up to date with his vaccines. So happy to report he is heart worm negative. Are you ready to give this boy the best years of his life? Apply today TGPR.org

Meet Princess Peach. She was surrendered to TGPR by her owner. She could not get along with the neighbors chickens. Now she's with TGPR, up to date on her vaccines and spayed. She is an energetic silly girl who loves to play ball. She loves her toys and chew bones like most good puppies, Peach is kennel trained, potty trained, definitely loves car rides with her people. She is a curious puppy who likes to explore her outside world listening for crickets and bugs, so sometimes she needs a reminder to make her business outside. She is cat friendly and would love a home with a cat sibling. She is your no fuss, no hassle ready to go pup. She is mixed GP with a shorter coat and is looking for her family to call her own. Story
Katiska was surrender at a vet office after being kicked and her leg broken by a large goat. Her owner surrendered her to the vet, unable to afford her surgery. TGPR happened to be on the phone talking about another dog and agreed to take her into rescue. A foster was found and surgery completed to pin and later unpin her leg back together. She is named Katiska or as we call her, Kiki, is doing great! Katiska means "goat" in Polish but her beautiful Akbash face is lovelier than the meaning of her name! Kiki is ready to meet her forever home and would be the best puppy to bring into your family!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Tyana is one of several dogs who were found on a ranch in the Texas Hill Country. We can only speculate, but we believe that the property owners moved away and left the dogs to fend for themselves.  Tyana's mom Lydia is VERY friendly, but her pups (two generations) are completely unsocialized, so we're guessing they may have been born after the people moved. It's quite possible that the Animal Control Officers who hauled away Tyana and her family were the first humans that she ever had any close contact with. At Windsong Ranch, Tyana is very slowly learning to trust me, but she is still extremely skittish of people in general. Getting her to walk on a leash in order to go to the vet's office is a real challenge, but we've managed it, and once at the vet's office, Tyana has remained calm and quiet. She seems content to stay inside the house, but seems happier and less anxious when she is outside. Tyana gets along well with other dogs and is very playful with them. We believe she would do best in a home with a confident male dog, who can help her see that humans are trustworthy. Due to her skittish nature, she MUST go to a home with secure (visible) fencing. If you are ready to make the commitment to devote yourself to earning Tyana's trust, please complete the application on our website. NOTE: I really struggle to get decent photos of Tyana -- she almost always looks very anxious, even when she's happy -- it's like she's in witness protection and thinks that having her photo taken puts her life at risk. In some of these photos, she is hanging out with other unsocialized or feral dogs, and moments before I pulled out my phone, they were usually happy and smiling, but as soon as I point the camera at them, most of them look like I might be about to kill them. Silly dogs. Also, in some photos, she has what looks like an injury diagonal across her face. Nope, that's just a berry stain. Tyana likes to dig, and it shows in some of these photos. ADOPT ME HERE (click on or copy and paste link into web browser): http://tinyurl.com/4h86prwwHello! I am Axel and I am 3 years old. I am a big, goofy boy that is about 80lbs. I will need a strong person to handle me and to train me to become the best dog I can be. I love toys and going for walks! I can be selective of my canine playmates, so a pre-adoption introduction may be needed if your home already has other dogs. I was a little thin when I first came into the shelter, but have gained some weight and am feeling like a totally new boy! You just cannot help but smile when I am around! I am vaccinated, wormed, microchipped, heartworm negative, had flea treatment applied, and sterilized. If you are interested in adopting me, come visit me at the shelter during visiting hours or you may copy and paste the link above into your web browser and fill out an adoption application. I cannot wait to meet you!

Story
Hi there! I'm Bucee, a 1-year-old neutered male Anatolian Shepherd/Cur mix, and I've got a heart as big as my mixed breed suggests. I might be a bit shy when we first meet, but give me a little bit of time, and I'll warm right up to you, eager to make a new friend. I absolutely love going for walks. There's just something about exploring the world, sniff by sniff, that really excites me. As for other dogs, well, we haven't really figured that out yet, so a proper introduction is a must for me. I'm pretty polite like that. When it comes to my living situation, I'm quite the quiet guy in my kennel, suggesting I could be just as happy in an apartment as in a house. Oh, and I absolutely thrive on affection! Hugs are my favorite-if you give me one, I feel like the happiest dog in the world. Now, let's talk about playtime. I love a good game of fetch and usually, I'll bring the toy right back to you, ready for another round. It's just one of the ways I like to show my loyalty and have some fun at the same time. With my laid-back personality, I'm looking for someone who appreciates the simple joys of companionship-whether that's going on peaceful walks or just enjoying quiet moments at home. If you're looking for a loyal friend to share in these tranquil pleasures, I promise to fill your life with gentle love and quiet adventures.
