Story
Charlie is a sweet Akbash/Pyr mix, who is protective of his person, and has the typical Pyr attitude. He is fully vetted, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is approximately 3-4 years old and weighs 102 pounds. Charlie does well with the smaller dogs in the current foster home, though would probably do best as an only dog. Charley very much enjoys "working"...having something to do. Though we do not allow him to be an outdoor dog, he very much enjoys his time in the yard/sun. He loves going for walks, but is often scared of other unknown big dogs. Charlie is great with the cats in the current foster home, and absolutely LOVES men!!! I originally took Essie in to foster her for a friend after she had been abandoned, and she has been with us ever since 2022. She was born on December 30, 2020, and is now 5 years old. Essie has a very calm and gentle personality. She enjoys relaxing, being around her people, and spending time outdoors. She really loves having space, so a home with a large yard or room to roam would be ideal for her. Being outside is one of her favorite things. She is very sweet and affectionate and does well with older children and babies. However, she can experience a little anxiety in loud or chaotic environments, and toddlers can sometimes make her a bit nervous because of their unpredictable movements. Because of this, she would do best in a home with older kids or a calmer household. Essie is a loyal, loving dog who deserves a family that will give her patience, stability, and space she enjoys. She will make a great companion for someone looking for a gentle, calm, and devoted dog.
