Story
Django is a big goofy puppy that loves to play. If you have a dog that needs a playmate, than Django would be perfect for you. He loves to run in the yard, play fetch, or chase or whatever else your dog would love to do. Django loves every dog he meets! He loves to play and could play with another dog all day if he was allowed to! Django loves to play with toys as well and can easily entertain himself. He knows his basic commands such as sit and lay down. Django loves all people including kids. He is goofy and playful so we recommend kids who are 8+ Django has completed an 8 week course with our trainer and is ready to go to his forever home. He knows many commands like sit, stay and lay down. He walks nicely on a leash and is well behaved. Django is house trained and crate trained. He's a really good dog and will make a great addition to any home. This handsome boy is part Husky, and we think a little Lab or Shepherd mixed in. Have you seen his ears? Adorable! Django is quite stunning with one blue eye and one brown eye. He is house trained, healthy, neutered and fully vaccinated. Django is about a year and a half old and weighs 65 lbs. Django needs a dog playmate and would do best in a home with a yard, or with an active family. If you'd like a dog to jog or hike with, Django is ready to go!  We need a foster or forever home in the Southern California area. Experience with big dogs is a plus. Please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com If you can't foster or adopt, can you share Django's story?

Story
Meet Jameson! This 1 year old Border Collie/Husky mix is ready to find his forever home. Jameson is described as a very curious and sweet pup. While he can be a little shy at first, it’s not hard to win his heart over. Just give him lots of treats and endless head scratches! He gets comfortable very quickly and becomes a goofy pup who loves to sleep with his belly up and paws in the air. He already knows some basic commands like sit, down, off and up. Like most younger dogs, he’s still learning his manners with proper play techniques. He likes a rough play style, but his fosters are working hard to socialized him so he can play with dogs of all energy levels. Jameson sleeps in a kennel through the night. In his short time in his foster home, he’s almost completely mastered potty training. He has an occasional accident, but we think he’ll be fully trained soon. Jameson had no leash manners, but with some modifications and training, he is already improving quickly. He would benefit from a home that wants to continue his ongoing training to help him become the best version of himself. Jameson’s ideal home would have a house with a yard so he can run around and be silly. No yard? It’s not a deal breaker! He just needs daily walks and adventures in the outside world. Jameson would love to live in a home with another dog friend who he can learn from. He loves to mimic behaviors and learn by their guidance. He is a super special pup who is ready to find his forever family. Does it sound like it could be you? Apply to adopt him at wishbonela.org

Story
Meet Pippy! This adorable petite 35 lbs Husky mix is ready to find her forever home. Everyone who meets Pippy instantly falls in love! Not only is she incredibly gentle and sweet, but she has the perfect energy level... especially for a husky! She is the perfect example that all dogs are unique despite stereotypes about breeds. She is a chill girl who is ready to be your BFF. On a normal day, you can typically find running around with her doggy friends or snuggling on the couch with you. She is great with dogs of all sizes and children, but hasn’t met a kitty yet! Pippy is fully potty trained, but is still working on her leash manners and crate training. Like all younger dogs, we recommend ongoing training to help her build skills to enhance her wellbeing and confidence. In an ideal world, we would love to see Pippy go to a family who has another pup who she can play with or a family that lives an active lifestyle. Pippy loves playing with other dogs. If she doesn’t have a furry sibling to run around with on a daily basis, she would love to go on play dates to visit her friends. She enjoys going on a morning run or an evening stroll around the neighborhood. Apply to adopt Pippy at wishbonela.org 🤍

Story
Like many pups, Eddy ended up on the streets no fault of his own. His owners just didn’t want a dog anymore and decided to turn this handsome boy out on the streets. Luckily, a kind neighbor advocated for him to find him a rescue. After getting neutered and updated on all of his basic medical care, he headed into a loving foster home where he is thriving. Eddy is a super sweet pup who absolutely LOVES other dogs of all sizes. He is friendly with children, loves going for walks, knows a few commands already, loves playing with toys, loves walking other dogs on a leash, naps a lot, is fully potty trained and weighs around 70 lbs. He would thrive in a forever home with another dog(s) or with someone who is home more often to give him the love and attention that he deserves.

Story
Meet Tiffany 💕 * Interaction with People : Initially shy, so it's advisable to approach her slowly. However, once she's at ease, she becomes affectionate and even asks to be petted by leaning her head. * Interaction with Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs at the center. When they come up to smell her, she loves it! She's quite popular at the center ! * Separation Anxiety: Not applicable as she is currently at the center with other dogs. * Potty training: Only does outdoor elimination at the center. * Walking: There can be resistance or hesitance at first since she is apprehensive about going for walks with strangers. However, once she gets acclimated to them, she walks well alongside them. * Car Sickness: No car sickness, and she rides well in cars. 💌Special Note💌 * Excellent in responding to dependable staff members, and even puts her hand on the food bowl as if she would ask for food. Microchipped, negative recheck for heartworm, completed teeth scaling
