You're in my spot…if you know, you know. 😂🛋️ We can imagine that’s exactly what Huey would say to whoever sits in his spot on the couch. You want him to get up from his spot? Yeah, that ain’t happening. 😆 You’re welcome to sit next to him, though. Huey is a hunk of love. Just look at that big block head. He has zero concept of personal space–loves people and wants to be close to them at all times! This 5-year-old Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix, weighing about 55 pounds, is filled with love and affection for his people. ❤️ Huey is fully housetrained and sleeps all night quietly in his crate or in ‘his spot’ on the couch. Huey has the perfect amount of energy. He loves to play with his toys 🧸, run around the backyard 🌳, then crash. 💤 He knows sit, kennel, and off. When on a leash, he is a strong dude and wants to keep moving, which causes him to pull. Huey gets along with other dogs with a slow, proper introduction and supervision. When playing with doggie friends, he doesn’t always want to share his toys, so when toys are out, it’s important to be watchful. Other small animals or cats are probably not a good fit for Huey. This big meathead likes kids but gets a bit too happy around them, so older kiddos may be best for him. If you have errands to run, he’d love to go right along with you. 🚗 He promises you can listen to whatever music 🎶 or podcast you want as long as he can stick his nose out the window 🐽 and take in all the new smells. Mr. Huey would do best in a home with people who understand dog cues. He is a couch potato at heart 🛋️🥔, and if someone comes to the door, oh well, he’ll let you get the door. He’s certainly not a guard dog and couldn’t care less if somebody knocks. His foster tells us he’d do best as a solo pet. He thinks it’s fun to go on a walkabout 🐕, so a 6-foot fence is needed. Huey is such a sweet boy and wants love from his humans. If you have a spot on your couch for him, apply today. Approved adopters will be contacted to schedule a meet-and-greet. 🐾 He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $175. 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org🐕

🚀Houston: We Have a Beefcake! 🚀 Meet Houston—a 75+ pound, 4-year-old boxer mix with muscles, manners, and major charm. Just look at that profile. Behold his majestic water pose. This boy’s a beefcake in every sense of the word. But don’t let the brawn fool you—Houston’s got brains, too! He knows sit, down, stay, high five, and wait. Learning tricks is one of his favorite hobbies, right behind sprinting around the yard like a goofball and battling the garden hose like it personally offended him. His ultimate favorite? Tug of war. (He’ll even let you win sometimes, because Houston is generous and humble like that.) Houston’s ideal day? Just hanging out with his person, doing a whole lot of nothing together. He’s a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a few minutes and you’ll unlock his best feature: champion-level snuggles. He lives to sit in your lap—yes, all 75 pounds of him—and he’s happiest curled up next to his favorite human. This sweet boy is also housetrained and kennel trained. In fact, he does some of his finest napping in his crate while patiently waiting for you to come home. And when you do, whether it’s been five minutes or five hours, he’ll greet you with a wildly wagging nub of a tail and a full-body wiggle that will absolutely make your day. Houston’s looking for a quiet, kid-free home where he can be your one and only. He’d love a fenced yard where he can stretch those legs and practice his signature splash moves. Houston is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. His adoption fee is $175. Meet Lovely! Lovely is a 7-week-old mixed breed puppy with a heart as sweet as her name. This adorable little girl got an early start in rescue after she and her littermates were being given away before they were old enough to be away from their mom. Thanks to the loving care of her foster family, Lovely has grown into a happy, healthy, chunky little puppy who is ready to find a family of her own. Like any puppy her age, Lovely is curious, playful, and always ready to explore. She enjoys chasing toys, romping around with her siblings, and then settling in for a well-earned nap. She loves people and is soaking up all the new sights, sounds, and experiences that will help her grow into a confident companion. Lovely is looking for a family that understands puppies need time, patience, and positive guidance as they learn house training, leash walking, and all the important life skills. In return, you'll get to watch her grow from a tiny bundle of puppy energy into a loyal best friend. If you're ready for puppy kisses, playful antics, and a lifetime of love, Lovely can't wait to meet you! All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee is $250. Story
Meet Freya Freya is an 6-month-old female Boxer/Pit mix puppy who is smart, playful, and full of potential. She does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with older children who can respect puppy boundaries. Freya is very intelligent and eager to learn, and she’ll do best with an adopter ready to continue training. She would benefit from a secure yard with a tall, solid (non–chain link) fence so she can safely burn off energy and explore. Freya has already had bilateral cherry eye surgery and is doing well, with no special care needed beyond routine vet care. She’s a bright, loving pup ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right family. **Freya has poultry sensitivity and will need to be on a lamb, beef, or salmon based food*** If you are interested in meeting Freya, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. Freya's adoption fee is $250 and includes age-appropriate vaccines, spay, microchip, deworm, and cherry eye surgery on both eyes.

Story
Hubbell is a wonderful dog. He's 6.5 and about as chill as can be. I had him for about 2 days before my landlord informed me she is selling our house, and we have had to make the unfortunate decision to re-home him. I didn't want him back at the shelter so we still have him, but we are also still getting to know him! Hubbell loves everyone he meets. He really just wants to snuggle. He's gentle taking treats and has been good around small children so far. He does okay on a leash, and would improve with a little training. Currently, his walks are short as he is being treated for heartworm. He has about 3 months left of his monthly treatment, and I have meds to send with him. He also does well in his kennel and I have a kennel, a bed, a leash and harness to donate, as well as any food or treats I have left. We haven't tested him with other dogs. The shelter said he was shy in play groups, and on walks he seems to want to play. Unsure of cats.

Story
Champ is a handsome Boxer with a heart as big as his playful personality. Full of energy, love, and endless tail wags, he's looking for a forever family to call his own. This sweet boy loves people and thrives on companionship. Whether it's going for a long walk, playing fetch in the backyard, or relaxing on the couch after a fun-filled day, Champ is happiest when he's by your side. He's incredibly affectionate and is always ready to greet you with a goofy grin and plenty of kisses. Champ is intelligent, eager to please, and learns quickly with positive reinforcement. Like most Boxers, he's curious, athletic, and would do best with an active family that can give him plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. He's looking for a home where he'll be treated as part of the family and receive the love and attention he deserves. Champ is a huge Family Dog needs kids to play with if possible.

Story
Only a puppy, Ekko definitely wants to know why his young life had to start out so difficult. 🔒 🔗 We can’t know the answer to that, but what we CAN know is that Ekko’s little life has had a gigantic glow-up since he’s been in foster 🪄 🧚‍♀️ Only good stuff from now on, Ekko! 🦄 🌈 We promise. Tiny baby Ekko was crated for more than 20 hours a day and wasn’t getting enough to eat or drink. After some quality time with a loving foster, he has so much freedom 🕊️🤸‍♂️ and everything he needs to grow and thrive. Ekko is 9 months old, and he’ll probably be around 40 pounds full grown. Turns out, he’s a complete sweetheart, and he’s good with kids and gets along well with other dogs. He walks well on a leash and knows sit and some other basic commands. He’ll readily do what you ask if he knows he’ll get a treat or some good attention. Oh Ekko, you’re such a good boy. 🥹 He has a regular amount of puppy energy, and he gets these cute little bursts of happiness right after he eats. He likes all the toys, but he particularly likes to play with squeaky toys and balls. He loves the opportunity to snuggle up and cling to his foster mom, so he’ll make a great cuddle buddy to his forever people. Ekko is house trained and he’s crate trained, but because he was crated so much in the past, you can’t blame him for not liking the crate very much. He should be in a home where people are willing to give him time to build trust – and that might take a little longer with the men in a home. Once he acclimates to new environments, he becomes his full Ekko self, and you’ve never had a better friend! 👯 He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped, as well as current on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. His adoption fee is $175. Don’t you wanna be the person who ushers Ekko into the good life? Get approved to adopt so you can meet him! 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org🐕

Story
Sugar, spice and everything nice- these were the ingredients chosen to create the perfect little girls. But Professor Utonium accidentally added an extra ingredient to the concoction- chemical X, which makes these puppies X-tra special!🧪💥 Introducing the Powerpuff girls! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♀️ 🦸‍♀️These adorable 2-month-old pittie mixes are small, sweet, and well socialized. We estimate they will be around 35-40 pounds when full grown. They have playful puppy energy and then turn into the most snuggly puppies when they are tired. Once they relax in your lap and look adoringly into your eyes, you will be hooked! 🌸Blossom is the largest of the group and also the most adventurous. 🫧Bubbles is a lover and wants snuggles when she isn’t out fighting stuffies. 🌼Buttercup is the smallest of the trio and has the most unique ears. These puppies have X-ceptional markings! Each pup comes with four white socks, a stripe up the middle of their face, a perfect pink nose, and a white tip on the tail! Add in puppy breath and puppy kisses and you will find these puppies to be irresistible! This trio is currently living in a foster home where they are honing their housetraining and socialization skills so they can be X-ceptional family dogs! While they are waiting for their forever homes, they can be found practicing pouncing, sneak attacks, and sharpening their observation skills. They are preparing to fight off squirrels and rabbits in a yard near you! These adorable pups will be available to go home after August 20. Their adoption fees are $275 and include spay, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and flea/tick/heartworm preventatives. A meet-and-greet will be scheduled with approved adopters. 🐕Apply to adopt at PawsitiveTailsKC.org🐕
