🎷 😎 💖 🎤 🐾 🎶 🎵 "The power of love is a curious thing, Make one man weep, make another man sing, Change a hawk to a little white dove, More than a feeling, that’s the power of love!" 🎵🎶 Have you been fortunate enough to love a dog with your whole heart? If so, you know how much a dog’s love can enhance your life. We introduce to you, Huey, a 5-year-old Boxer/ Staffordshire terrier mix who is a big-headed lover boy! This muscular guy is friendly with everyone and just wants to be given hugs, kisses and pets. Huey gets along well with other dogs and kids. He is house trained and crate trained and knows the command, “sit”. Huey is always SO happy! He will sit with his ears back and a smile on his face while his tail goes, “thump, thump”! Huey spent the first part of his life living outside on a chain, but you would never know that by his sweet personality and loving nature. He is looking for someone who he can love with his whole heart. If you have a family, he has enough love to go around for everyone! Huey can be a little bouncy when he greets people, so smaller children will need to be supervised around him. Huey is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date on heartworm/flea/tick preventatives. His adoption fee is $175. Huey is looking for a loving family and he knows he has plenty of love to give in return. Story
🚀Houston: We Have a Beefcake! 🚀 Meet Houston—a 75+ pound, 4-year-old boxer mix with muscles, manners, and major charm. Just look at that profile. Behold his majestic water pose. This boy’s a beefcake in every sense of the word. But don’t let the brawn fool you—Houston’s got brains, too! He knows sit, down, stay, high five, and wait. Learning tricks is one of his favorite hobbies, right behind sprinting around the yard like a goofball and battling the garden hose like it personally offended him. His ultimate favorite? Tug of war. (He’ll even let you win sometimes, because Houston is generous and humble like that.) Houston’s ideal day? Just hanging out with his person, doing a whole lot of nothing together. He’s a little shy when meeting new people, but give him a few minutes and you’ll unlock his best feature: champion-level snuggles. He lives to sit in your lap—yes, all 75 pounds of him—and he’s happiest curled up next to his favorite human. This sweet boy is also housetrained and kennel trained. In fact, he does some of his finest napping in his crate while patiently waiting for you to come home. And when you do, whether it’s been five minutes or five hours, he’ll greet you with a wildly wagging nub of a tail and a full-body wiggle that will absolutely make your day. Houston’s looking for a quiet, kid-free home where he can be your one and only. He’d love a fenced yard where he can stretch those legs and practice his signature splash moves. Houston is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and current on heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention. His adoption fee is $175. Apply to adopt him at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
Hello, This is Fiona. She just turned 3 years old. She has been raised with kids and is very loving to them. She does have issues with snatching food from kids and surfing counters for food. She hasn't shown aggression towards any kids but resource guards her food. She does have slight separation anxiety when left alone too long and tries everything to escape. Ideally would work for someone that works from home or home most of the day. She would also do great on a farm or with lots of land. She runs so so fast and has a lot of energy to get out. She can jump high as well. We are out of the house to much for her well being. She is such a sweet and loving family dog. We care so much for her and would love someone that would be ok to stay in contact with us. We have had her in basic training but doesnt seem to make a difference. She is stubborn and just needs lots of attention that were having a hard time giving with young children. She is great with other dogs but timid around cats.

Story
Buddy Boxer / Terrier Mix (best guess) DOB: 10/20/2024 Approx. 50 lbs Buddy is the kind of dog people say they’re looking for — friendly, house trained, and easy to have around. At about 1.5 years old, he has that great balance of playful energy and good house manners. His foster reports that Buddy has been a wonderful guest in the home and has had no accidents. Buddy loves people and quickly wins over everyone he meets. He enjoys playing with other dogs, bouncing around the yard, and then settling nearby once the fun is over. At about 50 lbs, Buddy is a great medium-large size — big enough for adventures and playtime but still easy to live with day to day. He has also lived with young children and did well, showing gentle and appropriate behavior. Buddy is an observant dog who likes to take in new situations for a moment before jumping in. Once he realizes everything is good, he relaxes quickly and joins the fun. ✔ House trained ✔ Friendly with people ✔ Enjoys other dogs ✔ Good recall and listens well ✔ Lived with children Buddy is ready for a home where he can finally settle in, be part of the family, and stick around for good. Breed mix is a best guess based on appearance. All of our dogs/pups are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee: $225 Our dogs are in foster homes across the KC metro. We do not have a shelter facility. Apply to meet Buddy: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog

Story
Hans is the embodiment of a good boy. He is comfortable with everyone, easy to walk, listens well, and just wants to enjoy life with his family. * Good with new people * Good with dogs, including off leash dog parks * Good with cats, including cats that do not like him. He does get stuck in rooms sometimes because the cat is in the doorway. * Good with kids, even those who don’t know how to be nice yet. His biggest flaw - if you can call it that - is that he’s a giant cuddle bug that does not realize he’s 70 lbs. His favorite place to sit is on his humans, and he goes to great lengths to figure out how to do so. He’s completely kennel trained and will “go to bed” from anywhere in the house. Needs a little bit more training with manners, especially when food is left out. But he has no aggressive characteristics. Mess with his feet, eyes, ears, mouth, all safe. Adoption fee will be donated to Great Plains SPCA.

Story
Thank you for taking the time to read about Moses. Writing something like this is never easy, but we hope to find him the calm, loving home he truly deserves. Moses is a sweet Boxer who has been with our family since he was just 10 weeks old. He has a gentle heart and forms strong bonds with the people he trusts. He is wonderful on a leash, enjoys his walks, and is happiest spending quiet time with his people. Moses is also sensitive and nervous, especially around other dogs. Because of this, he would do best as the only dog in a calm home where he can feel safe and relaxed. A fenced yard is important for him, as he is a runner and loves having space to move around safely. He finds comfort in routine and actually prefers being kenneled when he is alone or at night; it helps him feel secure. Once he feels safe with someone, his sweet and loyal personality really shines. Moses is a really good dog who simply needs the right environment. One that is quiet patient, and full of love.

Meet Cane! Cane is a sweet, goofy Boxer/Pit Bull mix with a big heart and an even bigger love for naps and snuggles. He's house-trained, knows his basic commands, and loves learning new things, especially when treats are involved (very food motivated!). Most days, Cane is happily snoozing, supervising his humans, or curled up as close as possible on the couch. Once a day, he enjoys a short but enthusiastic case of the zoomies before returning to his favorite activity: relaxing. Toys will bring him out of a slumber every time, and he loves some rowdy playtime too. Cane would thrive in a calm, adult-only home where he can be the only pet. He does best without other animals or children and truly shines when he gets all the attention. In the right home, he's affectionate, loyal, and full of personality. If you're looking for a low-key companion who will keep your couch warm and your heart full, Cane may be your perfect match. I wish I could keep him myself truly, he's my best friend.

Story
Meet Freya Freya is a 4-month-old female Boxer/Pit mix puppy who is smart, playful, and full of potential. She does well with other dogs and would thrive in a home with older children who can respect puppy boundaries. Freya is very intelligent and eager to learn, and she’ll do best with an adopter ready to continue training. She would benefit from a secure yard with a tall, solid (non–chain link) fence so she can safely burn off energy and explore. Freya has already had bilateral cherry eye surgery and is doing well, with no special care needed beyond routine vet care. She’s a bright, loving pup ready to grow into an amazing companion with the right family. If you are interested in meeting Freya, please fill out an application via our website at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TRP/Dog and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. Story
Nobody knows how to wear a hat quite like I do&#44 dont you think? Hi there&#44 Im Ava! A sweet and silly girl that cant wait for her forever family. Thankfully&#44 all the kind people at the shelter have given me so much to be happy about. Ive learned what it means to be house trained&#44 how to share my toys&#44 and Ive experienced what it means to be loved&#44 really and truly loved by a human.

I want so much to trust every human I meet right away. But I need a little time to get to know someone and really develop a sense of connection and love for that human. The shelter experience lends itself to a lot of unfamiliar people needing to interact with me often&#44 and I get nervous and scared around all that attention. I prefer slower introductions&#44 getting to know the person&#44 and finding that I can trust that no one wants to hurt me. Once there is patience and understanding between us&#44 Im a little doll. Ive got quite the personality&#44 and I want so much to be a part of a family and feel included in activities.

I am also kennel trained&#44 and I like to sleep in my quiet little spot. Ive been soaking up the love in a foster home recently. When Im not snuggled up with Foster Dad&#44 I enjoy playing with my toys and snoozing the day way. I absolutely adore squeaky toys&#44 and Im a big fan of car rides&#44 too. Starbucks Pup Cup anyone?

Before I fully commit to a family&#44 Id really love to meet everyone to ensure we all have that special connection. Since Im still learning that new people are indeed trustworthy&#44 I would appreciate older kids who know how to be gentle with me. Love is a two-way street&#44 you know. I cant wait to shower my new family with endless love&#44 loyalty&#44 and lots of joy. Together&#44 well make beautiful memories&#44 and I promise to be the best companion anyone could ask for.

Love from Ava

Story
Liesel is a great companion. She is a 4-yr old mixed breed that I got from a friend who adopted here from KC Pet Project. Overall, she is a smart and affectionate doggo that loves attention and is very treat motivated. She can also be a good guard dog. Most days we get outside for a run and to play fetch outside, but she is also perfectly comfortable taking naps while one is busy at work. She's always down to play with here squeaker toys, tog-o-war rope or go to town on a chew toy. Definitely a cuddle bug in the evenings. Liesel has suffered through some past trauma that has led to resource guarding and on-leash reactivity towards other dogs. For that reason, she would probably do best in a home without any other pets. We are making progress at the off-leash dog park but still needs further training and socialization. She has been fearful reactive to strangers at times but warms up to them quickly.

Story
“Kippy has a calm, gentle presence that draws you in. She doesn’t demand attention — she offers herself, and that kind of love is hard to forget. That quiet trust is what makes her so special.” – Foster Mom. Miss Kippy is a 2-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Staffordshire Terrier mix weighing 50 pounds. She has the most stunning brindle coat and those perky ears, gah! Under all that beauty is a gentle, observant, and quietly affectionate lady. Kippy gets along with every dog she meets, both male and female. Kippy has met confident barn cats and showed curiosity without aggression or chasing. Because the cats did not run, we cannot say for sure how she would respond to a fearful or fast-moving cat. Continued supervision and slow introductions would be necessary in a home with cats. Kip is calm, patient, and comfortable around kids. Miss Kippy enjoys food-based enrichment such as Kongs filled with peanut butter and bully sticks. She is always up for a walk and time outside, but does not require high levels of exercise. This smart gal is house-trained and can be trusted to sleep on her dog bed at night. Kip knows “sit,” and can easily learn many more commands. Kippy is learning that the world can be safe. She is still gaining confidence in new environments. She would be best suited for a home that values calm energy and patience over fast expectations. A consistent routine, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement will help her continue to build confidence. Kippy will come to you spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $175. If you feel you and Kip would make a good match, head over to PawsitiveTailsKC.org and fill out an adoption application.
