You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- BJORN IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR DOG.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.Health Condition: Bjorn suffers from food allergies and is highly sensitive to yeast which is having an impact to his overall well-being. Despite efforts such as allergy testing and various food changes, his condition has not improved. The veterinarian recommends specific medication and a raw diet to manage his allergies, but I am unable to afford these treatments due to financial constraints. As a result, Bjorn's quality of life has significantly diminished, and he is currently experiencing discomfort and suffering.   Behavior and Temperament: Bjorn is a friendly, affectionate, and well-behaved dog. He is good with people of all ages, including children. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, displaying no signs of aggression throughout the 5+ years I've owned him. He is house trained and has learned a variety of commands and tricks, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to please. His favorite activity is playing fetch with his chuck-it ball. Additionally, he is not an excessive barker.Current Vaccination Status: Bjorn is up to date on his rabies vaccine, and he has received the full series of distemper vaccines in the past.Reason for Surrender: I am surrendering Bjorn because of financial difficulties. Due to a significant cut in income, I have been unable to provide the necessary medical care and specialized diet that Bjorn requires to manage his allergies/yeast sensitivity. I am making this difficult decision out of love for Bjorn, not wanting to see him suffer any longer.Ideal Adopter: We are looking for a loving and responsible adopter who can provide the necessary medical care and support for Bjorn's allergies. Experience with allergy management in dogs, especially with a raw diet, would be beneficial. The ideal adopter should have the financial means to cover ongoing high quality fresh foods for him and be committed to maintaining a high quality of life for Bjorn.   Additional Information: Training: Knows commands such as sit, lay down, roll over, high five, stay, jump spin, crawl, and is trained to pee and poo on command. Favorite Activity: Enjoys playing fetch with a chuck-it ball. Personality: Affectionate, friendly, and well-behaved.   Contact Information for Adoption: If you are interested in adopting Bjorn and providing him with the care he needs, please contact me (Daniel) at brown.danielalbert@gmail.com.   Thank you for considering giving Bjorn a loving home and a chance at a better quality of life. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 23, 2024, 10:55 am

Story
This is our sweet precious Lucy. Lucy had an owner but her owner used to turn her out every day to wander the streets. A friend of the rescue would pick her up when she saw her and bring her home. She feared that Lucy would get hit by a car so one day when she returned her home, she asked the owners if they would surrender her to a rescue. They agreed and Lucy arrived here happy as a clam. She's a big girl, not fat, just a big girl. She's a very gentle big girl, sleeps in my bed with all the little ones sleeping on top of her! She loves children and cats. She was heart worm positive when she arrived but we have cleared all of that up. Lucy maybe a little older at 8 years but she has the energy of a puppy. She loves to play all day with the rest of the shelter dogs. She is spayed, fully vaccinated and house broken. She needs her forever home, could that be you? PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $350

Story
Gracie Lou is a beautiful 6 year old bull dog mix!! She spent her first 5 years outside on a chain and has been in foster a year now! After her hard start, she is now looking for a forever home where she can spend her life by the side of her loving new family! She's completely house trained and doesn't require much effort. She's very happy to just be near you or to look out her window and watch the world! Despite the life she had, she loves and trusts so unconditionally. Gracie is the most amazing love bug around. She is happy to be in the room with you and rolls immediately on her back for tummy rubs the minute she gets your attention. She is easy to be around and is just happy to have you as part of her life. When you rub her ears, she gets an adorable doggy smile! Gracie is happy to go for a 1-2 mile walk or to run around your fenced yard. If you are going for a car ride, she will jump right in and navigate the ride! She is very food motivated and has learned to sit. She's so smart and I'm sure with someone's time she could learn so much more! She loves toys and is so excited to have a new toy with a fresh squeaker!!! Gracie is good on a leash but does get excited when she sees other dogs - she may need some help calming her excitement. She would also like to have her person close by, she spent too much of her life alone already. She would be best as an only dog (although she might be good with a non dominant calm dog as a companion) and should not have kitty or child siblings. She is up to date on shots, spayed, and housebroken. She is the perfect companion dog - you will never find her far from your side!

Story
Pax came to us from a multiple-dog family, so he is good with other dogs. He's also great with the children in his foster home. He's looking for a forever home . . . how about yours? He is food motivated and an enthusiastic student when training. He rides comfortably in a car, is house trained, crate trained and leash trained. He has been surrounded by a loving foster family but his public exposure has been limited. Obedience classes would be great once he's comfortable in a new environment. They would reinforce the training he's had, and would widen his world, showing him unknown humans are a source of positive attention and rewards. Story
Hello, I'm Monique! Now, don't let my name fool you, I'm a boy. Quite the goofball, if I do say so myself. I ended up here at the shelter after a hilarious mix-up. I was playing fetch with my human, and when I went to retrieve the ball, I got distracted by a squirrel. I chased it, ended up lost, and voila! Here I am. I'm a bit shy at first, but once we get to know each other, you'll see my playful side. I'm like a puppy version of a stand-up comedian. I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and endless games of fetch. Adopt me, let's make our own fun stories!
