Professional Soul-GazerMeet Nutella, a warm and velvety beauty whose cocoa-and-hazelnut coat is as sweet as her name suggests. Though only three years old, she’s already perfected the “grumpy old man” pout—complete with adorable crinkles—that will absolutely make you laugh every single day. Add in her oversized “alien ears” and those striking light brown (almost yellow!) eyes, and you’ve got a uniquely irresistible girl.Nutella may look serious, but she’s all marshmallow on the inside. She’s soft, smooth, snuggly, and deeply loyal once she knows you. She walks beautifully on leash, enjoys a chilled-out lifestyle, and offers a soul-staring gaze that’ll make you feel truly seen. Warning: resistance to her charm is not possible. What Nutella Loves:Behind-the-ear scratches (her absolute favorite)Making humans melt with her perfect grumpy faceSharing space and love in multi-pet homesTaking relaxed, easygoing walksQuiet companionship and gentle affectionIf you’re looking for a uniquely adorable, wonderfully chill, sweet-as-spread pup to brighten your home, Nutella is waiting to stare lovingly into your soul… and into your heart forever.

Surge is a handsome, happy-go-lucky boy who puts his whole heart into having fun. His absolute favorite place in the world is The Green, especially the big toy box. He’ll hop right in, pick out the perfect toy, then proudly parade around with it. His all-time favorite? A giant blue ball. If he could, he’d play with it 24/7 — it’s his pride, joy, and best buddy all in one! This sweet boy is smart, observant, and wonderfully curious, always taking in the world around him. He’s also incredibly friendly, outgoing, and delightfully goofy, the kind of dog who makes people smile without even trying. Surge is a volunteer favorite for good reason — he takes treats gently, enjoys the fresh air, and absolutely loves hanging out with his favorite humans. If you’re looking for a fun, lovable companion who will brighten every single day, Surge is your boy. Story
Meet Roxanne! This beautiful, loving and affectionate meatball has been with us for two years now without a forever home to call her own. Roxanne was picked up as a stray in rough shape but has blossomed into a gorgeous and healthy girl during her time with Miri's. She loves every person she meets and her favorite thing to do is climb into someone's lap and gaze endlessly into their eyes. Oh, and butt rubs - Roxanne LOVES butt rubs. She's also big into cozy blankets and surprise late night zoomies. Roxanne prefers to have people with her as much as possible so she can give them all the snuggles all the time. She'll do best in a home with a family that's home most (or all) of the time with her - she definitely gets FOMO when left home alone (don't we all?!). She's happy to provide the background music in your house with her symphonic grunting and snoring (bonus: her tongue is not very good at staying in her mouth while she sleeps). Roxanne is so sweet, so cuddly, and just wants a family to give her attention, love, and her allergy medication. Her foster family describes her as one of the gentlest dogs they have ever met. She's fairly low energy but enjoys going for a few nice strolls a day. She'd love a home with a fenced in yard to explore at her leisure, and needs to be the only pet in her household. She thrives on structure and routine, and her ideal home will be generally calm and quiet most of the time. We are so hopeful we can see Roxanne off to her happily ever after. She deserves the world but hasn’t gotten a fair deal in the past. If you are looking for a cuddle bug with a squishy face, Roxanne's been waiting for you! Roxane is approx 10 years old and 50 lbs Fostered in Brunswick, MD Please apply at MirisHaven.org

Story
RAYNA (watch my video!) Female, spayed 8 years old Pit Bull Terrier 72 lbs. Microchipped, up-to-date on core vaccines and takes monthly flea/tick/heartworm prevention Good with sheep (yes, you read that right!), curious about chickens, not tested with cats or kids, not good with dogs at this time   Meet Rayna – A True Survivor with Endless Love to Give &#226&#128&#168 Rayna has been through more in her 8 years than any dog ever should, but you’d never know it now. When LOVEPAWS rescued her, it was clear she’d had a hard-knock life. Likely bred for years, she arrived with itchy, inflamed skin and ears, broken teeth, and lumps and bumps in all of the wrong places. This poor girl truly looked miserable. But Rayna is nothing if not a fighter. Thanks to excellent veterinary care, every concerning mass was removed with clean margins or turned out to be benign, and she finally got the dental work she deserved. Her ears and skin healed beautifully, and though she’ll need to stay on a special diet and medication to manage her allergies (common for her breed), she is now thriving — feeling like a whole new woman. These days, Rayna is soaking up the good life on her foster’s farm. She loves sunbathing (because a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do to look her best), keeping watch over the property (naturally, she’s the Queen B ), and even making friends with the sheep (though she admits she’s a little jealous of their curly coats). She’s happiest in the peace and quiet of the country and would thrive in a forever home away from the hustle and bustle of city life. She’s still fine-tuning her potty training and leash manners, but hey — even Beyoncé had to rehearse before hitting the big stage. Her off-duty uniform? Adorable jammies. Her full-time job? Gazing into your soul until you fall in love (spoiler: it works every time). Gentle, affectionate, and deeply people-oriented, Rayna bonds quickly and assumes you’ll rearrange your schedule (and couch space) around her cuddle needs — which, let’s be honest, you will. Don’t let her age fool you — Rayna is playful, silly, and sometimes downright goofy. She adores toys, chewies, and especially her beloved red tumbler ball (she just can’t get enough of it!). The quickest way to her heart? A tasty snack. And if that’s not on the menu, she’ll happily settle for snuggles… preferably in bulk. Rayna would love to be your one and only, because sharing is overrated. Sudden flailing arms or loud shrieks? Not her favorite, so older children would be a better fit. But she’s learning fast that life doesn’t have to be scary… as long as you promise steady love and the occasional treat bribe to seal the deal. After too many years being tossed aside like yesterday’s laundry, Rayna truly deserves to be spoiled, fawned over, and adored — the diva of every couch, sunbeam, and heart she claims. She’s battled hard for a second chance at life… now she just needs a loving human to fight for her too, by giving her the forever home she’s been dreaming of (throne optional, belly rubs mandatory Interested in adopting? Story
Meet Maxwell, a charming in need of rescue. His journey with us began when he was surrendered by his previous owner, through no fault of his own. Maxwell boasts a delightful history of coexisting harmoniously with both children and dogs of all sizes. However, we recommend a child-free environment due to his tendency to be a tad jumpy and nervous, especially when encountering new people. Maxwell's previous family described him as a big, goofy, and immensely playful companion. Additionally, he has proven himself to be well-trained in both housebreaking and crate use. He's capable of peacefully free-roaming when left alone, with no adverse incidents. Despite his endearing qualities, Maxwell is currently experiencing a degree of unease in the shelter environment, away from the only family he's ever known. New faces and the presence of other dogs passing by his kennel have understandably heightened his anxiety. Our dedicated behavior team has devised a plan to place him in a quieter section of the shelter, although it is apparent that the current setting is less than ideal for this sensitive fellow. During his stay with us, Maxwell has gradually opened up, revealing the same lovable, goofy personality that endeared him to his previous owners. Yet, he remains cautious when meeting new people. In our care, he has engaged in playgroups and demonstrated positive interactions with other dogs, though he tends to prefer calmer canine companions, as those with high energy levels can sometimes overwhelm him. This endearing pup is longing for a safe and loving environment where he can thrive. __________________________________________________   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have.
