Story
Meet Abby, a lovable two-year-old American bulldog who is looking for her forever home! Abby is a social butterfly who is dog-friendly and adores people. She'll need to be in a home with older, considerate kids aged 13+ as she does not live with kids currently. She lives with her foster sister and adores her. Her favorite activities include cuddling, playing with toys, and going for walks with her friends. Abby has a bit of a prey drive, so she would do best in a home without cats or small animals. She's house trained and crate trained and walks well on leash! She has a good amount of energy, so she's needs a fenced yard. Abby has a big personality and is always eager to please her people. She loves to learn new tricks and commands and is a quick learner. Abby would be the perfect addition to any family looking for a loyal and affectionate companion to walk, play with and give lots of kisses and belly rubs to. If you're interested in adopting Abby, apply to adopt her at lovepawspg.org today! Abby is spayed, heart worm negative, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines! She's located in the DC/MD/VA area.  If you're interested in adopting any of our dogs, please submit an adoption application at  https://lovepawspg.org/browse/adopt-or-foster-application/September 22, 2023, 9:56 am

Story
IF DOGS COULD BE MARRIED... Batman and Robin, Thelma and Louise, and Bonnie and Clyde are all dynamic duos in history. They all possess a bond that is unbreakable. Just like these famous pairs, we have a special duo of our own. Please welcome Domino and Jojo to the Tara's House family.  Domino is a 65 lb, 4-year-old, American Bulldog Mix. He is full of curiosity and energy. Domino loves to be outside and loves to chase a ball (we are still working on the return part). He is extremely treat motivated, so training comes fairly easily for him. Domino came to Tara's House from one of our partnering animal control facilities. When he first arrived, he was very scared and kept his distance from humans. His trust had to be earned. Through consistency and patience, he has developed into an amazing companion. Domino is still hesitant with strangers and will require someone with an abundance of time and patience. His potential furever family should not have children under the age of 10. Domino is still working on crate training , and is 99% house broken. Domino is neutered and UTD on vaccinations. Jojo is an 18 month old female American Bully mix who weighs in at a healthy 45 pounds. Jojo is full of life and love. She has been in a foster situation in the past that didn’t go so well. She became jealous of the attention the other animals were receiving and wanted her humans all to herself. When Jojo was moved to current location, she was very scared and shut down. She had little to no trust in humans; she was never aggressive, just aloof. Jojo has slowly learned to love the humans around her and has taken a special liking to a few of them. Jojo has made several trips for overnight stays with one of our approved fosters. She does great in the car, even on long rides. She has been around children ( who can be a little loud at times) and also has been chased by the foster's cat. Jojo loves her crate, and will go there on her own if she is feeling overwhelmed or nervous. Jojo is very treat motivated and loves chasing balls, and (most of the time) bringing them back. She is house trained and knows basic obedience. She does require patience when it comes to new people and change. Jojo is spayed and UTD on vaccines. Domino and Jojo do wonderfully well together. They always look for each other when outside. They have found safety and strength in each other. If you see one, you will always see the other. Being together has made them both more trusting, and more confident. Their bond has made them like one of the dynamic duos in history. Just like PB&J, they just go together. Their adoption donation fee is $675 for both, which includes spay/neuter, routine vetting and a microchip.  You can apply for Domino and Jojo by filling out our online application, which is found on our website www.tarashouse.net or www.tarashouse.org.  Please email us at info@tarashouse.net with any questions.September 12, 2023, 3:52 pm

We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Peso is 1 year old and weighs 55 lbs.  He's up to date on his vaccines, is microchipped but he's not neutered.  Peso knows basic commands, gives paw and always loves car rides.  He's playful and affectionate despite the problems he's having with his older canine sibling, which is why he's being rehomed. BITE INCIDENT:  In June 2022, Peso lunged and attacked his older canine sibling.  The bit broke the skin, but animal control was not involved.  No medical attention was required, either.  "Peso has anxiety and attacked my other dog." Peso successfully lives with children 2 & 3 years old but his guardian believes he should not live with children.  Due to the problems with his canine brother, Peso's guardian also believe he should not live with dogs; otherwise, Peso has been good with most other dogs. Since Peso hasn't lived with cats and otherwise hasn't been around cats, his guardian doesn't recommend he live with cats, either.  Peso's guardian describes his future ideal home:  "Would benefit from being the only pet in a home.  He's very affectionate and loving towards people.  Also very protective." Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Griselda or, Grizzy, is 10 months old, weighs 80lbs, is neither spayed, nor up to date on her vaccines, nor microchipped.  "Grizzy knows how to sit and wait (sort of).  She knows away or down pretty well too." Griselda's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  " I am unable to provide for her schedule wise and financially the way I think she deserves.  We took her in on more of a foster basis from a family member whose dog had a litter and was slow to sell.  We haven't had luck finding her a forever home by word of mouth so tapping into resources now instead." BITE/SCRATCH INCIDENTS:  More than 10 days ago, Grizzy nibbled when she was excited and scratched her guardian; the skin was not broken; animal control was not involved.  Grizzy's guardian further explains " She nibbles when excited and seeking attention but has done well with redirection to her toys. She has scratched at our feet for attention as well." Griselda's guardian offers a brief medical history:  " She has been itching to the point of breaking skin that then scabs over.  We are bathing her 1-2 times a week which helps for a bit.  I did find 2 ticks on her within the first month or so that were taken off with no issues." Griselda's guardian states the following regarding children:  Grizzy has lived with a 4yo child, so her guardian recommends her living with children, stating " she has been fine and is usually just curious about them. The first night she was in our home she did try to nibble at Wyo when he had a towel on so I think hooded things make her nervous." Griselda's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Grizzy hasn't lived with dogs, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating " I am unsure how she would do with another dog in the house.  She has grown to be protective of our space but we haven't had another dog come over.  She's been fine with dogs outside of the house." Griselda's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Grizzy hasn't lived with cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating " When we visited a home with a cat, she is very interested and curious about the cat - the cat is not friendly so will run away.  Seems like when Grizzy has gotten close enough she's only looking to smell the cat." Griselda's guardian describes her as: Couch potato Playful Friendly Likes to be touched Affectionate Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Griselda's guardian describes her ideal future home:  " I think the ideal home for Grizzy would be a young family who has a love for bigger dogs. She is playful and energetic but doesn't take much activity to tire her out -- a few laps around the house or outside is all it takes. She loves getting pet and snuggled with and would I'm sure love a home where she could curl up on the couch with her person. A yard is not necessary but someone who can walk her or have her walked twice a day would be appreciated." Rehoming Fee:  None Location:  Baltimore, MD***** ADOPTION PROCESS  1.
