This sweet 8-year-old boy came to us from Georgia, thin, tired, and worn down — but with a heart still full of love and hope. Overlooked in the shelter due to his gray and white fur. At 65 pounds, Pete should weigh closer to 80, and we’re helping him build back the health he’s lost from years of neglect. He’s been treated for heartworm, and despite all he’s endured, his tail still wags, and his spirit shines through. Texas Pete is dog- and kid-friendly, though he’s a big guy — so little ones should be ready for some enthusiastic hugs and happy zoomies. We’re sure he has zero desire to share his home with cats. He’s house and crate trained, neutered, and up to date on vaccines. He rides wonderfully in the car and handled his long trip from Georgia to his foster home in Harrisburg, PA, like a true gentleman. Even at 8 years old, Texas Pete still has a playful spark. He loves toys of all kinds, but balls are his absolute favorite — they bring out the puppy that still lives inside him. Now, this good boy just needs one last thing: a forever home that will show him the love and care he’s always deserved. If you're looking for a dog with personality, Carter has it in spades. He's cute, sweet, and full of energy- basically a toddler with fur and four legs. Around here, we lovingly call him our little "terrorist" because the only time the house is quiet is when he's in his crate catching some Z's. Don't let that fool you though- Carter is a total sweetheart who loves people, playtime, and being part of the action. At just about a year old, Carter has all the goofy puppy charm (and mischief) you'd expect. He's smart, hilarious, and endlessly entertaining, but he definitely needs an active home that can match his energy. A yard to zoom around in would be his dream, and someone who appreciates his antics will never be bored. He's also a big fan of his crate and settles in nicely when it's time to relax. Carter gets along well with dogs that can tolerate his puppy energy and play style, and he's shown to be unphased and curious (but never aggressive) toward cats. With the right companions, he fits right in. Carter is the definition of "work hard, play harder." He'll keep you laughing, keep you moving, and keep your heart full. Yoyoma's adoption fee has been fully covered by a generous supporter, and OPH is including six virtual training sessions with a certified trainer during the first 60 days to help set you both up for success! Yoyoma is 9 years old and has been in foster care for awhile, because she wants to be your one and only loyal companion. She would like to take naps and watch TV with you. When it's time to exercise, playing ball is the activity of choice in a fenced yard, the higher the better. She'd like to take walks on a leash, but doesn't mind staying close to home. Sniffing to discover new smells rather than long walks is just fine with her. She would rather be with you than in large crowds as she is cautious with strangers, but once she gets to know them in familiar surroundings, she is ready for belly rubs. She has played with the fosters larger dogs but prefers to be the only dog in your family. The fosters grandchildren have played ball with her and she likes how they tell her to sit first then to retrieve. Rules and boundaries help her to feel comfortable. Bulma is a 3 year old, 70 lb American Bulldog. She is a super happy, very friendly dog. Her friendliness, however, doesn’t necessarily extend to other dogs. She can be a bit of a bully when she thinks she can get away with it. Bulma was raised outside with her brother (who was recently adopted). They had food, water, shelter and love from their human, but they were never allowed to live inside. When their mom became too ill to continue to care for them, she, regrettably, surrendered them to rescue. Bulma is affectionate and energetic. Her foster recommends she be placed in a home where she can be an only dog and get plenty of exercise. Her original human reported that she also had a cat that frequently spent time behind the fence with the dogs, but this hasn’t been tested and verified since entering rescue. Bulma hasn’t been tested with children but we have no reason to think she would be anything other than her sweet, friendly self. She might be a little much for very small children, since she is not bashful about showing love (just like every other Bulldog we’ve ever met). She needs some training to learn her doggy manners and she is very eager to please. She will be tons of fun, laughs, and kisses on day one! FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering.
