She will need a home with someone willing to work with her to give her confidence, and will likely require obedience training help socialize her. Melinda is also very reactive to other dogs and should be the only dog in the home. UPDATE October 2023: Melinda its in a good good foster home, but is officially a "Long Timer," having been waiting for her forever home, since January 2022. Meet MuffinFace - your new best bud! This gentle guy is a VERY sweet dog who was brought in as a stray and found himself on the euthanasia list at an LA County shelter. He was rescued by a family a couple of months ago who hoped their 2 cats and him would live in harmony, but that didn't seem to be the case. They're safely managing on keeping them separated in the home. This 3 y/o squish is good with all humans and may bark at someone in the distance, but once you're near him he's all LOVE! He’d do well with calm dogs and older kids! He's good on leash, has good recall, does fine in the car, knows how to sit, lay down and spin 360! Like most dogs he puts up with bath time and doesn't fuss! MuffinFace likes clicker training, hiking and puzzles, but most of all CARROTS! MuffinFace would do great in a home where he can rest in a cool shaded area right next to you or chase after lizards while you garden! He’s mellow but at the same time enjoys play time and a toy to destroy! He's not destructive in the home and does fine by himself in the crate which yes, another thing he LOVES! He even zooms into his crate for nap time after play sessions. MuffinFace will take all the pets and hugs at any moment, but it's important to continue balancing how to deliver affection since too much of it at an intense level used to trigger his jumping/mouthiness behavior. After a while they didn't want me either because they couldn't sell me (so many terrible people out there) and they were gonna dump me at the pound. 😭😭 What were the chances of a black mixed breed dog getting out of that place alive?
