Ava is a Downey survivor who’s been bounced around thanks to her initial adopter backing out at the last minute. She’s safe with a foster now but really needs a furever home. Is that you or someone you know? Ava is a 3 year old Shepherd/Bully mix and 60lbs of silliness who will be your lap dog if you let her. When she wants attention she’ll put her head on your hand and stare up at you with those sweet fawn-colored puppy dog eyes. She loves to run and rarely tires of playing with other dogs, therefore someone with a yard and a playmate would be ideal. She loves her bones and plush toys though the plush toys usually end up in tatters not too long after she gets them. She’ll make you laugh when you see her walking around with a random toy leg or ear in her mouth. She’s good with other dogs, both large and small, cats and kids - all with proper and necessary introductions. She’s the kind of dog that once she gets used to something that she’s been introduced to in a controlled environment, she does great. She’s excitable around other dogs outside because she wants to play, but we’re working on that with her. Ava is housebroken, crate and leash trained. She knows basic commands and is learning more everyday. She’s spayed and up to date on her shots and flea/tick medicine. Ava is currently in the greater Chatsworth area and is available for adoption by applying through Sandy Paws Sanctuary.

Hello Kind Humans I am Odie and here's my story! Someone dumped me on the streets of Redondo where I was utterly terrified and I ran, and I ran and I RAN for over a week straight dodging cars and literally starving to death, MANY people tried to catch me to get me to safety but I was so SCARED no one could. Until..... The day came when I was so sick and EXHAUSTED that I just collapsed on the pier and it was only then that a COMPASSIONATE Lady was able to pick me up, put me in her car and rush me to the closest vet (Thank You to HER and to VCA Hermosa 🩷) I was in awful shape so the hospital kept me and got me healthy while every effort was made for a month to find my owner. Sadly, no one ever responded to posts or flyers-it was so obvious I was not wanted anymore 😭 (oh yeah, I had no ID on and was not neutered or chipped-shocker!) They didn' want me going to the pound so they asked this rescue to help me out by getting me into training and finding me a home where I will be kept SAFE and LOVED. I am a 1 year old male STUNNING brindle Pittie mix and weigh 50 pounds Even tho I've now been with a fabulous trainer for a month and I am still slowly building my confidence I am still afraid of some people and certain noises but I just KNOW that there's a special human out there who is patient and who can help me learn that the world is not such a scary place! I'm also great with other dogs and cats and I NEED to be in a quiet adult only home that has a balanced dog or dogs so I can learn from them too! **COURTESY POST*** Hello Kind Humans my name is Lucky and I am in DIRE need of somewhere to go! I am an 10 month old cute and sweet male pittie mix and here's whats going on! I was living at a recycle facility but the owner of the place wanted me gone so a kind human grabbed me before they set me loose on the streets. Unfortunately they can't keep me and they have no way to contain me so they are keeping me tied up in their yard. They do have 2 little dogs and I'm good with them, I'm super friendly and know basic commands like sit, speak and paw and guess what? I know them in English and Spanish! Also.... I HAVE THE BEST AND BIGGEST SMILE! I haven't been neutered yet but that is being figured out, I can't get fixed until I find a rescue and a foster home as I can't be staying outside after the snip. Right now I'm in the Gardena area of SoCal but these people will figure out transport if there's a good rescue who can take me in as long as its in the SoCal area. Can you HELP me at all? One day Chulo was walking down the street being the good boy that he is and someone pepper sprayed him. By the time he could see clearly again, he found himself in a loud scary shelte Chulo stayed there for months where he was constantly passed by, until he was placed on the euthanasia list. Despite this, you will never see Chulo without a smile on his face! He starts every morning off right with zoomies. After his walk, he calms down pretty quick and wants to cuddle on the couch. Chulo gets along with chickens, dogs, and kids. He has not been tested with kitties.
