Story
Monica is a very sweet but anxious girl. She is medicated for her anxiety. She loves people and cuddling but has boundary problems in the amount of attention that she needs. Monica struggles with other dogs. While not outright aggressive she needs to feel dominant and will do her best to dominate other dogs in the household. I adopted Monica in 2022. She was previously owned by an unhoused man for the first six months of her life. I've recently moved in with my girlfriend who has a small dog who Monica consistently seeks to dominate. I have spent literally thousands of dollars on training but cannot afford to spend any more. As a result she spends a fair portion of her time in her room (a second bedroom) alone. I want nothing more than a good life for her and feel that I cannot currently provide it. Its my goal to get her to a home with an experienced owner who can handle a dog of her needs. Thank you.

Story
#A5705835 Meet Max , our perfectly petite 11-month-old pocket pittie with the cutest lowrider vibes! This grey-and-tan brindle boy looks like he’s been painted in sleek shadows, and his floppy, expressive ears are such a delight. Max was adopted at 6 months but is unfortunately back at the shelter through no fault of his own. Despite this, he’s still as warm, happy, and wiggly as ever - just watch that booty go! He’s already fabulous on leash and just needs some puppy-basics polishing, like potty training and simple manners, which he’ll tackle eagerly with his new person. In return, you’ll get a loyal lifetime companion who does the BEST zoomies , zipping around with pure joy. If you’re ready for lots of love, laughs, and a little lowrider pup to brighten every day, come scoop up Max today!     -11 month old grey and tan brindle Pitbull puppy -32 pound neutered male -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/5/25 as an owner surrender - Max was adopted as a 6 month old, but is unfortunately back; we have no notes and no idea why, as he’s the goodest of boys! -cooperative and easy on leash, but could use some potty training and basic manners/commands - but already knows a good strong “sit” -has exuberant puppy energy that needs to be channeled through exercise, training, or even just play -friendly with other pups here at the shelter, so could easily make a good little brother to any pups you may already have     MAX’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/ObSq3hjOKoI For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org   ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. Story
#A5739125 Meet Roxy , a 3-year-old Pitbull girl who turns heads with her sparkling champagne-colored coat and striking light eyes that gleam with excitement. &#226&#156&#168 Even though she’s about 10 pounds underweight and absolutely deserving of all the pampering, she’s still a sturdy little lowrider - like taking a very enthusiastic bowling ball out for a walk! She’s currently being treated for a mild doggy cold, but that hasn’t slowed her eagerness to explore, sniff the world, and make new friends. This social butterfly has truly never met a person or pup she didn’t like. That said, she got a bit too excited around a tiny dog, so she’s best suited for a home with no cats or small dogs. If you’re looking for a joyful, people-loving companion with a heart of gold, Roxy is ready to roll right into your life!     -3 year old tan Pitbull mix -63 pound female  -up to date on all shots and preventatives, so ready to go home with you today! However, Roxy has a little doggy cold, which is already being treated, so she hasn’t been spayed yet - she will need to be adopted on a health waiver, adopter to follow up with own vet for further diagnostics and potential treatment -came to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on 11/17/25 as an owner surrender - but we have no notes and no idea why, as Roxy is a big sweetie! -very strong and pulls a bit on leash, so needs a confident handler; may be potty trained and familiar with basic commands, but we only had her for a bit due to her cold and couldn’t confirm everything     ROXY’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/1B85L2SSR2A For more information, contact volunteer Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. Story
#A5711002 Cashew is an 8-month-old, 56 lb neutered male Pitbull mix with a striking brindle and white coat and a big, joyful personality. Originally found as a stray in July 2025 and later surrendered by his owner on November 17, 2025, Cashew is a young, vibrant pup bursting with enthusiasm for life. He’s fully vaccinated, healthy, and ready to find an active, experienced adopter who can match his energy and guide him with structure and patience. Described as “100% super-charged high energy,” Cashew is playful, affectionate, and wiggly — always ready for adventure. He’s friendly with people and curious about other dogs, though he’ll need continued socialization and training to channel his excitement. Cashew is treat-motivated, eager to please, and full of potential, but he’s not ideal for a first-time dog owner. With consistency, exercise, and confident leadership, this lively pup will thrive and become a loyal, fun-loving companion. -8 months old, neutered male, 56 lbs -Pitbull mix, brindle and white coat -Originally a stray (7/5/2025); owner surrender (11/17/2025) -Up to date on all vaccinations -High-energy, wiggly, and affectionate -Friendly and social; interested in other dogs -Treat-motivated and eager to learn -Needs structure, leash work, and consistent training -Best for an experienced, active adopter -Excited for life and ready to explore the world     CASHEW’S VIDEO: https://youtube.com/shorts/zn-lrMLTSJQ For more information, contact volunteer Lor at  lor@unitedhopeforanimals.org     ------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter.
