United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. For more information about the pet, the adoption process, or our program please contact the Volunteer Adoption Coordinator listed below. Because animals are adopted/rescued daily, please also check the United Hope for Animals Facebook page to see if an animal is still available OR call the Baldwin Park Shelter at 626-962-3577. When inquiring about an animal, please reference the animal’s ID number. This will enable the volunteer or Baldwin Park employee to locate the status of the pet. Thank you for supporting rescue. Pet Information #A4710379 Bailey is a resilient 9 year old tan spayed female Pit Bull who was found as a stray and brought to the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center on July 19. Weighing 50 lbs, Bailey seems to have been adopted as a youngster and doesn’t know how she found herself here again. She has a sweet personality and waggy tail despite apparent blindness and deafness, as well as a skin condition that has resulted in the loss of most of her hair. Shelter staff tell us her skin has been improving with treatment. A health waiver is required for her and an outside veterinarian can give a treatment plan to address her needs. Bailey follows her nose and takes treats gently. She does bump into things that she can’t see so her handler and future home must be able to help her navigate the world. Easy on leash, Bailey deserves a loving home and supportive care for her golden years.    BAILEY’S VIDEO:   https://youtu.be/GoOPpFnn6X8 For more information on this pet, contact volunteer UHA Adoption Coordinator Lisa at lisaa@unitedhopeforanimals.org  April 16, 2024, 1:08 pm

Story
#A5597254 Maya is an affectionate 1-year-old black and brown spayed female Pitbull mix who was discovered as a stray and welcomed into the Baldwin Park shelter on December 8. Weighing 63 pounds, her presence is as captivating as her beautiful, brindle fur. She's a heart-stealing bundle of affection and energy.  Her youthful energy is evident in every bounce and wag of her tail, making her an absolute delight/ She loves to playfully chase a ball or snuggle up for some cuddle time. Social and spirited, Maya is enthusiastic about playing with other dogs.  Her companionship extends to humans, too; Maya's eagerness to please and connect is unmistakable. While she already knows basic commands like "sit," Maya has a lot of potential to learn quickly with guidance and positive reinforcement. Maya is the perfect match if you're searching for a furry companion brimming with love, energy, and a touch of playfulness. Swing by the shelter to meet this charming girl!   MAYA’S VIDEO: https://youtu.be/03uj7j1RXes     For more information, contact volunteer Mike at  mike@unitedhopeforanimals.org   ---------------- United Hope for Animals (UHA) is a volunteer group and does not have a facility for animals.  This pet is part of our Shelter Support Program at the Baldwin Park Shelter. Story
For more information, contact volunteer Sandy at  sangreenca@yahoo.com #A5594526 Barney is a big puppy ready to learn and play. Just 10 months old he is a neutered male pit bull with a LOT of love to give! Like most young dogs he needs to learn some manners, he jumps, he’s mouthy, he’s playful. So he will be a great family dog once he’s had some training and we recommend a group class for all the puppy basics and some socializing. -   48 pounds of puppy love! May get a bit heavier as he grows up. -   Ok with large dogs and likes the calm ones best -   Already knows sit and will be quick to learn with treats and positive reinforcement -   Needs to burn off some puppy energy and then he settles down -   Likes to lay at handler’s feet and watch what’s happening around him -   Likes balls and playtime -   Almost entirely black and he has wide eyes ready to see the world outside the kennel -   Came into the Baldwin Park Animal Care Center as a stray on November 16 and needs out! Story
#A5611021 Martina is an athletic dog who will be a great jogging buddy once she gets the hang of the leash. For now she pulls quite a bit so she needs a strong handler who won’t get knocked over if she decides she wants to go in a different direction. Interested in dogs, but selective about who she wants to make friends with, Martina would be happy to be your one and only while she builds confidence to make doggy friends.
