Story
Spike is a big sweetheart. He is a great protector, does not beg, gets along with most dogs, and is crate trained. Spike was surrendered by his owner as they recognized that he was not getting sufficient attention and love. For most of his day, he was chained or in a crate; he was rarely walked. He was surrendered to us to receive better care. A4P has updated his shots, got him fixed, had his teeth cleaned, and we are happy to report he has a clean bill of heath. In his foster home, Spike is LOVING his walks but will need more leash training. He would make a great addition to any family.

Story
Courtesy Post...Cooper is not a Dream Team Angels Rescue dog. Cooper is a four-year-old American pit bull and sheep dog mix. He hasn't had the best of luck finding a forever home as his original owners couldn't keep him and his current owners have fallen on hard times during the pandemic. Nonetheless Cooper is a happy lovable dog who interacts well with the cats, other dogs and children that he currently lives with. While he does get along with the animals in his current home he does display dominant behaviors when he comes across other animals he is not familiar with. Cooper will need to be slowly introduced to other animals in the home. He is bilingual and understands commands in English and Spanish. He is also known to pitch in around the house, often helping with carrying the grocery bags from the car into the house. Cooper is in great health and is neutered. If you live in southern California and would like to meet handsome Cooper, please fill out an application on Dream Team Angels Rescue's website: https://dreamteamangelsrescue.com/adopt He is currently located in Gardena, California. Cooper looks forward to meeting you!

Story
Mindy was living in a local shelter for 7 months before we placed her in foster care. During the first few weeks of her time at the shelter, she responded well to volunteers walking and engaging with her. Sadly, it did not take long for her to start to withdraw. In the last few months at the shelter Mindy was terrified of every noise on her walks to the point where she would not walk at all. In foster care, Mindy is doing well but is still exhibiting signs of fear to loud noises. Currently she lives in a home with a cat and dog where she gets along with them most of the time. However, based on her interactions, we recommend a home with no small children and perhaps as an only dog. Mindy is still decompressing from her shelter experience and will need more time for her loving personality to return. Mindy needs a forever home that will give her the gift of patience with love.

Story
Trooper was at the Orange County Animal Care Center since April 2024. He attended all of the public adoption events and quickly became a volunteer favorite! So, it came as quite a shock when 14 months later, he was involved in a bite incident with a stranger on the shelter property which led to him being removed as available for public adoption. His only hope was to be rescued, and AALOC stepped forward to help him. The AALOC team was able to scoop up Trooper in the nick of time. When we arrived to take Trooper to our humane center, numerous Orange County Animal Care volunteers came to give Trooper the send-off he deserved, with love and best wishes as he left for his new rescue home. Trooper was adopted once during his stay at Orange County Animal Care Center. The adopter said Trooper was an amazing dog that loved the family and children very much. But the new owner had back disabilities and found Trooper (at 70 pounds) too difficult to walk frequently from the apartment they lived in. Trooper is available to an adult-only home. He loves attention, going for walks and playing. He is a people dog who would love to have someone special to share his life with. Please apply to adopt Trooper at www.AALOC.org. Once your application is reviewed and approved we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Trooper and get to know him a bit. Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. For more information on our adoption policies visit our website at www.AALOC.org or contact us by e-mail at aaloc@aaloc.org.
