Presenting Calzone, an incredibly loving pup who is the perfect blend of puppy joy and senior calm. This fun, goofy, and gentle soul makes companionship feel effortless. This adaptable boy is low-maintenance and very emotionally intuitive. He’s playful when it’s time to have fun, but knows how to chill and comfort you, too. Whether you’re taking a nap or a stroll, Calzone is just happy to be by your side. And he’s always eager to warmly greet guests and soak up gentle pets!
If you need to leave him alone, he’s trustworthy and patient, often opting to nap uncrated until you return to receive his affectionate greeting. He’s making good progress with house training, too. While Calzone is still learning to be around other dogs and would do best as the only pup, he’s very respectful and gentle with smaller animals, including cats, rodents, and even the occasional rooster!

City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).
Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.
Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
