Story
*Woof* I`m in a foster home! Email my foster caregiver to meet me: mimiinjordan@yahoo.comBuella is amazing and affectionate and doing so well in her foster home. During a previous weekend foster stay, her foster shared that she`s an incredible pup. She`s potty trained and has a huge love for cuddles. She’s smart, learns quickly, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. She was friendly with all the adults and children she met and will happily curl herself up in a free lap at every opportunity. She’s great about giving things back, isn’t possessive, and has no issues with food guarding. She has this adorable way of turning her head to really listen to what we`re saying! She`s so smart. Buella is attentive, loving, precious and super gorgeous. Buella is almost 60 pounds, and she`s pure love.A volunteer recently shared this: `She is such a sweet love who is friends with everyone and wants to give hugs to every person she passes.` If you love the big doggies with darling smiles, and one`s that will listen to all your problems (and maybe fix one or two!), then you must take home Buella today. She is a DOLL!

Story
*Woof* I`m in a foster home! To meet me reach out to my foster caregiver at jaspersavannah@gmail.comShe’s not the Boss — she’s Apple Sauce! This beautiful, friendly pup is eager to join a fun, active family. She’s all full-body wiggles and happy little tap-dancing front toes when she’s excited, and it’s absolutely adorable. She was easily leashed and hopped right out of her kennel, pulling with enthusiasm as she headed out. In the play yard, she loved exploring before trotting over to us, curving her body sweetly as she leaned in for gentle pets. Then she placed her paws on our lap, soaking up affection like a pro. Apple Sauce does fantastic zoomies, offers the cutest play bows, and even throws in some silly sneezes for extra charm. She’s a wonderful dog who would love to be part of your family. Come meet this delightful girl — she’s ready to bring joy to your home.

Story
Ruthie is a 2-year-old, 60-lb Boxer mix with a gentle soul and a brilliant mind. Before coming into rescue, Ruthie lived on her own for at least 6 months, skillfully evading capture, multiple trapping attempts, and surviving in an industrial area of town. Fed by kind mechanics and workers, she learned how to stay safe, avoid danger, and always show up for food — and that intelligence still shines through today. After a dramatic capture, Ruthie has been in a foster home, where she’s proven to be a very polite houseguest. She is fully house-trained and, even at her scariest moments, has never shown a hint of aggression — no growling, no raised lips, just fear. Ruthie is shy and deeply cautious with people, but she is sweet, gentle, and incredibly observant. We would not be surprised if Ruthie spent some of her life in someone’s home.  This brainy girl reads the room like a pro. She knows when a human might approach and will quietly skedaddle to keep herself feeling safe. While she’s still very nervous about leashes and handling, she allows most people to gently scratch her muzzle, and she’s learning — slowly but surely — that human touch isn’t such a bad thing. Watching her progress has been incredibly rewarding, especially as she’s started to enjoy ear scratches and soft affection from her foster mom. Ruthie is a great pack dog. She does beautifully with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and enjoys playful wrestling with dogs her size, but doesn’t demand play.  She happily coexists with the resident Chihuahua in her foster home. Ruthie is calm and content indoors and also enjoys a daily visit to the dog park. She’s a quiet presence who’s perfectly happy lounging on a chair, listening to her foster mom’s Zoom calls, and soaking in the safety of home life. At home, Ruthie is her foster mom’s quiet shadow. She sleeps in her room, wiggles with excitement when she comes home, follows her around the dog park — and yet may still hop off her bed and slip away if that same foster mom walks toward her for a pet. With Ruthie, trust is built in tiny, meaningful moments, and every day brings progress. Because of her history, Ruthie is a high flight-risk dog, especially in the early days. She will need a very committed adopter with a securely fenced yard, experience with fearful or flight-risk dogs, and a willingness to use safety tools like GPS collars, double leashes, and secure handling. Strength matters too — this is a 60-lb girl who needs someone confident and prepared. Ruthie has been around children at the dog park and treats them like little adults — with polite, reserved hesitation. She is food-motivated, sweet, and incredibly smart. With patience, structure, and time, she has all the makings of a truly special companion. Ruthie is one of those dogs who, with the right adopter and a few committed months of trust-building, will become a dream dog. Watching her finally relax, feel safe, and just be a dog has been an absolute privilege — and we can’t wait to see her find the forever home she deserves. ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.March 31, 2026, 4:37 pm

Story
House trained: Yes Energy level: Medium Noise level: Barks occasionally My foster guardian says: My favorite thing about Vela are the hilarious sounds she makes to communicate with her people! I never knew a dog with such vocal range! Likes: Riding in the car, going for walks, taking naps Hi Im Vela! My foster family describes me as incredibly pleasant and good natured. What a glowing review, right?? They also say Im friendly and easy-going, up for any kind of adventure, and the perfect balance of sassy and sweet! At home Im a very well-behaved girl. I like to keep watch over things, and let my people know if anything suspicious (like a squirrel is approaching the perimeter). But dont worry, my foster family says Im not loud or disruptive, just an alerter! I never chew things up, Im good in my crate overnight and during the day, and Im okay with staying home alone too. Im very polite with sharing my food and toys with humans, and I respect boundaries and am a good listener! Im a curious girl, and I like to see what everyone is up to around the house, but Im not clingy. My foster family says Im the ideal blend of velcro dog and independent queen. Being such a good listener, I know a lot of tricks! I know sit, stay, down, off, come, touch, and some fancy obedience trial ones too! I like to learn, and hope that my forever family will want to keep the trick practice (and treats!) flowing! I also love puzzle toys and brain games. Im a smart cookie, and I love working on a project like a snuffle mat or frozen kong. Something Im working on is being calm outside the house, since I can get overstimulated when there is too much going on. Im practising walking on a loose leash even when I have something cool to chase, but my foster family says Im easy to re-direct if something startles me or if I start getting distracted. They think once the D.C. sidewalks are back to not being pure ice, I might be a little more confident walking around. When Im not lounging at the house, or being a training superstar, I love to go on adventures! Im the perfect errand buddy, because I love riding in the car, and Ill happily sit up front and keep the driver company! I know Im supposed to stay in the back, but it would be rude to not greet my chauffeur when they come back to the car after a stop, right?? I cant wait to find my forever family, and go on all the adventures, and share all the snacks, and give all my love to them! If you think we might be a match, apply to adopt me today! Story
2 years old, 42lbs Personality: goofy, brave, snuggler, easygoing, independent Bendita's favorite place in the world is right near people. If you sit on the couch, she is there with you. Move to a chair, and she hops up to share it. Walk into another room, and you will hear her footsteps close behind. Bendita's love language is quality time, especially if it involves curling up in your lap for a long afternoon snuggle! She is also happy to play independently with her toys until you are ready for a game of tug of war or more cuddles. Full of curiosity and energy, Bendita loves to explore new smells and sounds. This smartie knows the words "sit", "down", "touch" and more! Her foster is also helping her learn to properly greet other dogs she sees while out on walks. Bendita is house-trained and does well in her crate when her foster is out and about. She can get overly excited during play or when seeking attention and is still learning appropriate boundaries, so Bendita is not yet a good fit for a home with young children. This loving girl is ready to find her forever “hooman.” Your life will feel blessed with Bendita by your side! Story
Ahna had been with me since a puppy. I purchased her from a friend who had a pure litter. Service animal well trained. Ahna will be 5 in March. No litters never have been aggressive. Excellent with kids. She loves to swim and play with her ball. I am looking for someone who will have the time and patience to take care and love on her she is very family oriented and loves attention. She has traveled across state and does great in the car. House trained & loves to speak. Very adventurous and loves to be outdoors. I have had her on a natural diet but she does eat regular dog food on occasions preferably Ol’Roy to prevent coat from breaking out. She loves the outdoors very energetic even at her age now. Overall a great dog and companion. Ahna knows several commands and does great off leash. Very friendly around other dogs and other animals.
