Amelia is looking for a patient adopter who is ready to support a big exciting gal who may need a longer adjustment home since she`s been living in such a stressful environment for some time. While it will be important for adopters to go at her pace, she has made great strides in her training with our shelter team and she is building lots of skills to practice her best manners! Our staff team is excited to share all we`ve learned about Amelia while she`s been in our care.Amelia has many lovely qualities: she loves plush toys, learning, enrichment activities, and staying active. Once she`s settled in with her people, she’s snuggly, affectionate, and quite the jokester! She will need a quiet, predictable environment with limited variables as she decompresses. While she has been building her skills around dogs, at this time we are looking for a home without another dog so that we can focus on getting her some relaxation time away from the noisy shelter environment before trying to introduce a new friend. Loki is a silly guy with a frosted face, but don`t let that fool you- this guy is active and quite the go-getter! He goes on weekly runs with one of our all-star running volunteers and loves spending his time out on the rail trail. He`s even spent a sleepover at another volunteer who adores him, and he seemed to settle right in! While Loki is a bit reserved at first, he warms up quickly and is looking for a patient family who can give him some time to decompress in his new home. At the shelter, Loki is practicing calm greetings with new dogs, going on car rides with his friends, and settling in an office to get some extra out of kennel time. While on a special diet food, this guy LOVES his enrichment and training, and is quite easily entertained! She was surrendered with a limited history so we don`t know much about her life before her arrival, but she has been active and playful with shelter staff. She has been very quick to pick up on training and we think with some practice she will become a well mannered lady. Star does seem to have a bit of a prey drive, so we are recommeding she not live with cats or small animals. She can be a bit rude meeting new dogs, but might be able to live with a social and tolerant friend. Preparing your home for your new dog or puppy ahead of time can help ease the transition for your new pet and set you both up for success should there be a dog that’s a good match! Hunter is a gentle 60-pound Pitbull mix with a heart of gold. This strong boy, about a year old, was found running loose on the back roads of Tennessee, but despite his tough start, he's in great shape with a silky black coat. While no one has come forward to claim him, Hunter is patiently waiting for a loving family to call his own! Hunter enjoys his daily walks and is working on not pulling on the leash. ‍&#226&#153&#130&#239&#184&#143 He’s curious, playful, and loves other dogs! He’s been sharing a pen with a Boxer, though we feed him separately to avoid any food aggression. Hunter does the cutest little dance when it’s time for his meals or walks—it’s sure to put a smile on your face! While he hasn’t been tested with cats or kids yet, Hunter did have a run-in with a neighbor’s chicken , so he might be best suited to a home without small livestock.
