Story
Duchess is an 11 year-old female mixed breed. Duchess is a friendly old girl who still has a lot of pep in her step! She loves to get out for walks with her volunteer friends, and motors along like she’s half her age. She came to the shelter with her little buddy Jackie Boy, a pint sized Chihuahua, so we think she could live with a smaller dog, but she says no thanks to bigger dogs We would love to get this senior gal out of the shelter and into a quiet home as soon as possible so she can rest easy, so let’s share her info and get her adopted this week! Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays). If you are interested in this pet, please review our adoption process at www.lowellhumanesociety.org/adoption/#process

Story
Zeus is a walk in surrender on 2/3/26. He has been ill for two weeks and his family could not afford additional medical diagnostics to determine what is ailing him. He was rushed to the animal hospital where he had radiographs, but there was no definitive cause of his issues. Today (Wednesday 2/4/26) he will undergo exploratory surgery so we can try to help him. Please consider donating to his care, which could be $3,000+. 2/4/26-UPDATE! Zeus had exploratory surgery today and they found a plastic SQUEAKER from a toy in that boys intestine, which was causing him to feel so yucko! He`s not out of the woods yet, as this is a pretty invasive surgery and we need to make sure he is going to start eating again and passing everything through as usual. He`ll spend the night in the hospital and hopefully we`ll have an update tomorrow!2/6/26-UPDATE! Zeus is back at the shelter and recovering. We are working on getting him to a foster home for the rest of his recovery. His surgery expenses came to $3,000. We are so grateful that we saved this sweet boy- now to pay the bill.https://www.lowellhumanesociety.org/donate/

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet young puppy Bocce. This is a happy go lucky guy with a lot of energy. He loves to entertain himself with toys and is really good walking on aleash. Oh, dont let that adorable face fool you. This puppy will requirea bit more training with polite greetings and to use that puppy mouthappropriately. Luckily, Bocce loves his snacks and will train for cookies. This good boy is looking to join a low traffic home with older kids only tohelp him become his best self. The best situation would be if he could livewith an older, patient dog that will teach him the ropes. Here at theshelter, he has enjoyed play dates with other dogs. We have no history ofwhat Bocce thinks of cats, so a dog-savvy cat would be a possibility.Does Bocce sound like the pup for you? If so, please head to the MethuenMSPCA location Tuesday-Sunday between the hours of 12PM-3PM!

Chloe is an affectionate girl and a true foodie at heart. She loves treats, enjoys pets from her favorite people, and likes spending time with dogfriends. After several recent transitions, Chloe is looking for acomfortable home where she can settle in and feel secure. Her history with other animals is unknown, but she has met dogs at theshelter and may be able to live with other dogs or cats given a thoughtfulintroduction. Its also unclear whether she has lived with children before, but she could potentially be a good fit for a home with kids who understanddog body language and signals and can interact accordingly..Chloe is ready to land in a supportive home where she can relax, feelunderstood, and enjoy all the good snacks and companionship life has tooffer.

Story
Are you looking to be entertained by a dog romping in the yard with toys? Then Skye is your girl! She is a master at self-entertaining. This doggo is not only fun, she is really smart! Brains and beauty all in one dog. Skye is a very good girl, and, once she knows you, she will lean in hard for pets. She has been through a number of changes recently, so sometimes she can be worried with new people or loud noises. She is hoping her new adopters will keep her world small and safe as she settles in. Here at the shelter, Skye has been selective with her dog friends. She may be able to live with another carefully matched dog using some management. She has not told us how she feels about cats. That could work starting with complete separation. And children old enough to practice petting consent and help with her training plan would be the best bet. Skye is a very good girl and deserves a loving home. Does she sound like the dog for you?
