Story
BRAD is a nervous boy who has been settling in with his foster, decompressing, and showing himself to be an affectionate pup. OTHER PETS: Brad was unsure meeting dogs at the shelter and would likely do best as an only pet. [Likely (Must Meet First)] OWNER Brad will do best with someone who has experience with positive reinforcement while helping a nervous dog gain confidence. Brad has some anxiety going through doors, and meeting new people, so a slow introduction to new stimuli and the world will be essential in helping him feel comfortable in a new home and environment. While he has been nervous going through doors, barriers should be used while he is still nervous so he doesn't accidentally become startled and find himself lost. [Some Experience] KIDS: Brad bonds closely with his people as he becomes more relaxed. He is very affectionate and social, but young children may be frightening to him. He would be a best fit for teens and older humans that would be able to recognize when he needs space, and when he requests interactions. [15+ / Dog Savvy (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Brad enjoys playing in the foster's fenced yard, and so far is going on short walks as he builds confidence and takes in his surroundings. He is a combination of playful and affectionate, and will benefit from regular exercise, and plenty of mental enrichment such as food puzzles and games to help meet his needs. Mental stimulation is incredibly important for all dogs, and can help worried dogs cope with the world. Because he is nervous, a leash or fence will be necessary for all outings. [Couch Potato / Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: [Average]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Brad bond with his new owner as well as help him learn new skills and tricks. Positive reinforcement, and counterconditioning will help him create happy associations with things he finds scary. Helping Brad continue to blossom will mean letting him learn about new things at his own pace without being forced. GROOMING: Occasional brushing will help keep Brad's coat clean. Story
OTHER PETS: While Sherman was comfortable with other dogs, his enthusiasm may be a bit much for some. He would likely match best with another tolerant, playful dog. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Sherman is still young and needs some help learning about the vast world he'll be living in. He would do best with someone that can be dedicated to helping him adjust with patience and confidence as he grows. [Some Experience]KIDS: Sherman is a bit of a bulldozer and doesn't quite understand the concept of space yet. He can be jumpy, and would do best with older kids that can understand how to interact with him and when to let him have his own space.[12+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Sherman is a young dog with a lot of energy, but he does settle after a bit. As he grows, he will do best with a combination of both mental and physical enrichment. Walks around the neighborhood or a romp around the yard are good, but mental enrichment like food games or puzzle toys will help him grow into a more content adult. [Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Although he seem to already know `sit`, Sherman still needs a lot of help understanding how to greet other dogs and new people. Sherman is still at the beginning of his training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while he adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Sherman not only learn his basic cues & skills, but also help him to bond with his new owner. [Intense]GROOMING: Routine brushing will help to minimize shedding in the home. [Minimal]January 3, 2026, 11:49 am

Story
Watch her video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Z71ZM9HDOZw Salvation was seized as a cruelty case. She was being kept in a small cage 24/7 and almost starved to death. The person who reported the owner wanted to adopt her after she got better but the previous owner knew them and threatened them. I took her into my rescue and she is the absolute sweetest thing ever despite what she has been through. All she wants is to be loved on. She is great with other dogs even when they are annoying and she is great with cats too. She walks well on the leash and despite her bad experience with crates she does well in them. She is currently still in Oklahoma where she was rescued but she can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well. She has to be prepaid and picked up directly from transport at one of our transport drop off locations below. If things don't work out for some reason, which rarely ever happens, we will either find a local foster to take her in or she will go back to Oklahoma on our next transport until a new home is found. Note: No dogs are advertised as potty-trained because most dogs need at least some re-training in a new environment and after being in a shelter/rescue environment/strays. www.facebook.com/desideratarescue (copy and paste into a new browser window) Transport locations: - Washington State (Kennewick, Spokane, Tumwater, Tacoma, Tukwila, Lynnwood/Edmonds, Bellingham) - Oregon (Portland and Springfield) - Colorado (Ft Lupton) - Idaho (Heyburn and Boise/Meridian) - Utah (Ogden) - Wyoming (Evanston, Rock Springs, Laramie) - Montana (Missoula) - Illinois (Vandalia, Springfield, Chicago) - Indiana (Spiceland, Burn Harbor) - Michigan (St Joseph, Battle Creek, Ann Arbor) - Wisconsin (Madison, Wausau, Eau Claire, Appleton, Milwaukee) - Minnesota (Minneapolis/St Paul) - Iowa (Des Moines) - Ohio (Columbus and London) - Pennsylvania (Erie, Pittsburgh and Harrisburg) - New York (Buffalo and Albany) - Connecticut (Enfield) - New Jersey (Bedminster) - Nevada (Las Vegas) - Arizona (Flagstaff) Vetting: spayed, microchipped, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, dhpp vaccine x 3, lepto vaccine x 2, dewormed several times, on monthly flea and tick prevention, on monthly heartworm protection. Too young for a heartworm test. Adoption fee: $500 (includes the $250 cost of transport from Oklahoma and all vetting listed above) Adoption application (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 FAQs (copy and paste into a new browser window): https://docs.google.com/document/d/12eb_SRtk1AzaBl87UltcLJ24MjH9UhQm_LE77iWZEQA/edit?tab=t.0 Desiderata Rescue is Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/rYXuf16PsWo Yada Yada is a young adult male pit bull mix who was picked up by animal control after someone reported that he was attacked by other stray dogs. Despite this experience, he is the sweetest boy. He has been around dogs of all sizes here at the rescue as well as cats (including kittens!) and has been great with everyone. He is a little shy and cautious still but 100% loving and sweet. He needs a home that will show him what love and safety feels like. He deserves to feel happy and safe for the rest of his life. He walks well on the leash and does well in the crate. He is currently still in Oklahoma where he was rescued but he can only be adopted out of state where people treat animals well.
