Story
Meet Gus – 58 Pounds of Pure Personality! At seven years young, Gus still has pep in his step and a prance that could steal the spotlight in any dog parade. He’s a lovable guy with just the right mix of energy and maturity—ready to be your loyal sidekick for walks, couch cuddles, and everything in between.Gus would thrive in a home with older kids who can be part of his continued training and help him show off just how smart he really is. While he may be able to live with another dog, he’d probably prefer to be your one and only fur-child (he’s a bit of a spotlight hog, and honestly, he rocks the solo act).If you`re looking for a dog who struts through life with charm, enthusiasm, and an irresistible face—you just found him. Come meet Gus and see if he’s the perfect match for you! Call us at 716-731-4368 ext 0 to meet him!

Story
Meet Gretchen – The Queen Bee in TrainingGretchen is a 8-9-year-old, 56-pound sweetheart who’s trying so hard to make fetch happen (and by fetch, we mean finding her forever home). She’s got that perfect blend of pep and poise—fun and energetic, but not a total chaos gremlin. She’s affectionate, loves attention from her people, and will totally remember if you didn’t tell her she’s pretty today. With other dogs, she’s confident and forward—but always polite. Just like the real Gretchen Wieners, she’s all about socializing and building her squad (just, you know, without the backstabbing). But cats? Yeah, they’re not in her Burn Book for no reason—so a feline-free home, please. If you`re looking for a loyal bestie who will totally share her treats (but maybe not her secrets), Gretchen’s your girl. You can sit with her.

Story
Meet BearAge: Almost 7 years oldWeight: 93 poundsBreed: Pit Bull / Lab MixBear is a strong, solid guy with no idea just how big he is. He`s not the life of the party—he’s more of a quiet tank, lumbering through life with good intentions and questionable spatial awareness. At nearly 7 years old, Bear would love an active, structured home where he can shed a few pounds and settle into a routine. He’s carrying a little extra weight these days and could benefit from some light exercise and portion control (don’t worry, he’ll forgive you eventually). He may be able to live with another dog, depending on the match. As for kids, it’s not that he wouldn’t like them—he just might accidentally knock them over like a slow-moving wrecking ball. So if there are little ones in the home, we’d want everyone to meet first and make sure parents are ready to help manage a big, bumbly dog like Bear.Bear doesn’t need the spotlight. He just needs a a little bit of exercise, a consistent schedule, and a person who doesn’t mind if their dog occasionally walks into walls.?? Story
Meet TommyOne year old and 63 pounds of squishy, smushy pittie goodness—Tommy is the definition of a cuddle bug. He’s the kind of dog who will literally turn himself inside out just to be next to you. When our volunteers walk past his kennel, you’ll see him pressing his whole body against the bars, hoping for a hand to reach through and give him a scratch.Tommy is social and could happily share his home with another dog. We aren’t sure about cats just yet. He would do best in a home without very young kids (under five). He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, but the fast, unpredictable energy of little ones makes him nervous. When he’s unsure, he simply avoids them and carries his favorite pacifier toy around for comfort—it’s his way of self-soothing.Tommy is a sweet, gentle soul who just wants someone to love him back as much as he’ll love them. If you are interested, please give us a call at 716-731-4368, extension 0.
