I am not sure why I was a stray or how long I was living as a stray but I am really sure I am not able to live the life of a street dog. I love other dogs but they didn't love me back. I am healed from that life and is feeling so much better now due to the love and care of the amazing rescuers! My foster family wants you to know that I am truly a big mush. All I want is to be loved and cared for. As stated already,  I get along very well with other dogs, not sure what a cat is though. Because of my size, approximately 80 lbs, and my lack of awareness of my size I would do best with someone with doggy experience.  I know sit, down, come and how to give my paw. I’m Elvira, but my foster moms have been calling me Ellie! I am a pittie mix but I think I have some lab in me too. I am about 3 years old and 55 pounds. I came to Buffalo all the way from Jasper, Texas with 46 other dogs. I am a goofy girl that will match your energy. I really love toys and will play with you as long as you want to! As soon as we’re done I am ready for a nap on the couch with you.  I really love people! I want to be your shadow all the time. I go in my crate when I’m home alone because I get nervous, but I am learning that my crate is a safe space that’s just for me. At bedtime, I prefer to sleep in bed with you. I know basic commands like sit, shake, lay down and stay. I am a good listener and I really love treats. I had a few accidents when I first got here, but now that I have a set routine I’m really good at going potty outside. I will even stand at the door if I have to go.  Right now I have a foster dog brother that I don’t really like, but he’s a grumpy little old man. When a dog my size came over and wanted to play, I had a ton of fun. We went for a walk, wrestled in the back yard and shared some treats. I have some cat friends too.
