Story
This sweet girl was found abandoned with no collar or microchip. She’s been checked by a vet, is fully up to date on her shots, and is estimated to be 6–7 months old. She currently weighs 40 lbs and the vet expects her to grow to around 50 lbs. She’s very smart and loving, quick to learn, and already showing great potential with training. Like most puppies, she has plenty of energy and will need someone who can give her the attention, consistency, and love she deserves as she continues to grow and learn. She loves playing with other dogs and being right by your side. She’ll make a wonderful companion for the right person or family. If you or someone you know is interested in giving her a forever home, please reach out!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All dogs on the Best Friend Pet Adoption website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs.  The link to our application is https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC.    FOSTER COMMENTS:  Meet Blueberry – Your Velcro Pup in the Sweetest Package!  If you’ve ever dreamed of a dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side, look no further—Blueberry is your girl! This adorable, affectionate 8 month old pup is crate trained, housebroken, and leash ready. She’s the perfect blend of playful and cuddly, with a moderate energy level that makes her just as happy going for walks as she is curling up on the couch. Blueberry is a little shy at first with new people, she is learning to brave and once she knows you is obsessed with with.  She will be completely devoted to her family—the type of dog who would crawl right into your skin if she could! She enjoys the company of other dogs and could do well with a friendly canine buddy, though she’s also perfectly content as the center of attention in her home. She may be okay with a cat-savvy cat, and while she hasn’t lived with kids, she’d do best in a home with older kids who understand her gentle, loyal nature. Apartment living works just fine for her—she’s polite indoors and happy with leash walks for exercise. Blueberry is more than a pet—she’s a true best friend, a shadow who will stick close, make you laugh with her playful side, and snuggle you endlessly when the day winds down.  She is looking for a family that will  to help her continue learning about the world and people in it.  If you’re looking for unconditional love wrapped in a furry, blueberry-sweet package, this girl is waiting to meet you! To help her become the best dog possible, her adopter will be given additional training sessions with our preferred training facility for 4 months (or 12 sessions) of free 1:1 training.  This is a great benefit for both Blueberry and her new home.     Blueberry is part of a puppy litter that someone was giving away for free.  Best Friend Pet Adoption admitted them to our rescue to make sure they have proper medical care and find loving homes.   Could one of those homes be with you?  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC. Looking for a loyal sidekick who will keep you smiling and your heart full?  Apricot, a smart, affectionate, and curious 8 month old  pup who’s just waiting for his forever family.  He didn't have the easiest start to life, but he is learning all about people and other dogs and making big strides! Apricot is crate trained, housebroken, and walks nicely on a leash—a total gentleman in the home and out on adventures. He has a moderate energy level: happy to join you for walks and playtime but also excellent at settling down for snuggles and naps. In fact, Apricot is a certified cuddle bug—he loves following his humans around and being part of whatever you’re doing. He enjoys meeting new people, can be a little cautious at first, but once he warms up, his loving and goofy personality shines. Apricot is cautious with new dog friends,  so he’d do best with calm, patient canine companions—or he’d be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. He’s best suited for homes with older kids,  and while he doesn’t need a fenced yard, he’ll thrive with daily walks and quality time with his people. Whether you live in an apartment or a house, work from home or go into the office, Apricot will adjust beautifully. He’s smart, eager to please, and still learning about the world—a wonderful mix of playful curiosity and easy companionship. If you’re looking for a devoted, affectionate pup who will bring warmth and joy to your days, Apricot is ready to be your best friend.  Adopt Apricot—your sweet, snuggly shadow is waiting! Story
Hi! My name is Arrow. I was born on Valentine's Day in 2024 along with my siblings: Love, Heart, Bow, and Valentino. I am a sweet, loving, Velcro dog with high energy. I LOVE toys and love to play. I am a chewer, but have been trained to channel that energy toward toys, not shoes. A new baby at my current home has made it tough, so I am looking for a family that has plenty of time to walk, run and play with me, as well as provide lots of training. For those wondering, I am not dangerous and never showed any propensity toward biting, I just need more structure. I come with a crate, collar, leash, and training collar with remote (if desired). I don’t come with a bed because I chew them when left alone, but I like blankets.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  All dogs on our website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs. Please consider this sweet girl today! Here is our application:    https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Frannie is a sweet and beautiful, Blue Brindle Pittie. She's about 2 years old and weighs around 45-50lbs. She is gentle natured with lots of personality. She's super cute and will give you a silly, full body "giggle" wag! She loves being with her people and is a wonderful companion. Frannie has done well with her crate training and house breaking. She needs to be crated when left home alone (6-7 hours), and as of now she is crated overnight. She's food & toy motivated, eager to please and is learning basic manners. She is gentle with food and waits patiently for her meals. At times, she still acts like a puppy but also likes to chill on a dog bed and entertain herself with a bone or toy. Frannie overall has great leash manners. She can be an alert barker and would do best in a home not an apartment. Although, she goes potty well on leash, she would really enjoy a fenced yard to get her "zoomies" out. She has a moderate energy level and after playtime with her foster siblings, she enjoys exploring the yard and sunbathing on porch or lounging on couch/bed. She also likes to play fetch and is learning to bring back. Frannie would do best with good natured, neutered male dog that could help guide her when she's unsure. She would do OK as a solo dog also as she loves getting attention from her humans. She would do best with older kids (8+). She's good with "dog savvy" cats, but if kitty is shy and runs, the chase may be fun. Slow and appropriate intros are always recommended with kitties. Frannie had an unstable start to life and has some insecurities, but she will open up quickly with treats and sweet talk. She would succeed greatly with an experienced owner that can continue to build her confidence. Please consider adopting (or fostering) this sweet little lady! Check out Frannie's videos below! Story
Bodie found us about 4 months ago while I was on a walk with my Newphiepoo. No issues with meeting Archie at that time. We have been trying to be his forever home but he just does not seem to be a good fit for our family. Not house trained- improving! Chases cats (our cats stay in hiding often) Leash pulling Dog aggression. We have experienced dog aggression on several occasions, but recently the aggression has been towards our Newpiepoo in our house which I cannot handle. Great with children from what I have experienced. A cuddler!! So sweet to snuggle with though he is a heater! High anxiety. Recently started anxiety meds.
