Story
Ducky is the happiest boy, always eager to make new friends anywhere he goes! This boy has an ambiguous past, having showed up on someones porch as a stray in January 2024. Ducky is on his way to mastering the art of potty training. Currently, he is comfortable in his crate as it is where he sleeps, eats, and spends his unsupervised time. Ducky is a curious, fearless boy who just wants to run and play in the yard, house, and is a cheerful boy on his walks. He walks very well on a leash and is on his way to being quite the Velcro dog. His ideal family would enjoy an active lifestyle and bring him on adventures! His foster family consists of two dogs, two cats, and two adult humans. He loves all of them dearly, although he is still learning to respect the boundaries of the cats. We would recommend Duckys forever home be cat-free. While Ducky does get along with his foster dog siblings and loves other dogs when properly introduced, he would do best in a pet-free home where he can be your one and only! His foster siblings are very submissive, so he could potentially be in a home with one other very submissive, female dog. He has not been tested with children or livestock. Because Ducky can be mouthy, we believe his best home would not have young children. Ducky would likely be fine with older children/teens (10+). Ducky does not have a high prey drive and has low reactivity when it comes to animals and strangers inside and outside of the home. He has a loud bark, so may not be suitable for apartment living. He uses his voice most when asking his foster siblings to play, or when his foster humans are leaving the house. Ducky has an incredibly sweet disposition and his favorite things to do include playing with a flirt pole in the yard, chasing balls, playing tug-o-war with his foster siblings, chewing on Benebones, and going for walks! Oh and eating food! Being a pup who is still learning to control his impulses, Ducky explores the world with his mouth. He can be quite mouthy, though this is a behavior he is learning to control! Ducky is eager to please and very intelligent! He is actively mastering sit, lie down, leave it, drop, and come. He continues to learn commands that help him develop structure and impulse control as well. At the end of the day, Ducky would do best in a home with experienced dog owners who could cultivate a safe, structured environment for him. His ideal family would be able to provide Ducky with consistent, gentle training in a way that best advocates for him, encouraging him to blossom into the best friend he wants to be!

My adoption fee has been fully sponsored. Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!Hi there! My name is Deuce. I am a medium sized, strong and curious fella looking for a furever home. I have been at the shelter for over 150 days please consider meeting with me. I enjoy being outside, eating yummy treats and learning new things. Volunteers say I am a great running friend and stick pretty consitant to the path! I do quite well on leash and I am food motivated, so that will help with any training needed. I am a good boy and eager to learn. I`m also a good boy on car rides! I love a good chew toy. I am very treat motivated, smart, and know sit! If I am enjoying outdoor time off leash, I`ll need a secure enclosure because I have been known to escape. I was unable to stay in my previous home due to me not doing well around the children - so I would do best in a home with no small children, or a home with older children. I have shown some food possessive tendencies that will need to be managed in a home during feeding time. I have done well around other dogs, but I will still need slow, monitored introductions to any other pets in a home to make sure everyone stays safe. OCAS can provide great recommendations on making those introductions! I love treats and would appreciate training to help me build my confidence :) Please ask staff if you have any questions about me.If I am enjoying outdoor time off leash, I`ll need a secure enclosure because I have been known to escape. My adoption fee has been fully sponsored.Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!Insights from my adventure buddy:Today we took Lizzy out for 2.5 hours and she was a joy the whole time! She was great in the car and was eager for a walk on Bolin Creek Trail! She loved smelling everything along the way and showed curiosity (but never barked) at any bikers, walkers, runners, or kids. She didn’t show aggression towards other dogs walking by and we told her to sit and rewarded her with treats as other dogs passed us on the trail. Lizzy pulled on the leash pretty good at the beginning of our walk, but did better and relaxed as we tired her out! She got to dip her paws in the creek today too, She adores water and would love to swim whenever she can. She loved getting pets from others and many people complimented on how sweet she was. After our walk, we drove to Starbucks and she LOVED her pup cup - so much so that she went cross eyed as she ate! Lizzy did not bark once during our time with her! She is a happy girl with a lot of love to give, a big tongue to eat pup cups with, and who deserves a loving home!!More insights from adventure buddies:`We loved hiking with Lizzie at Blackwood Farm Park through meadows and woods. She was excellent in the car, hopping right into the backseat and sitting calmly during the drive. During the hike she sniffed along the trail as she walked, occasionally stopping to check out something in more detail, but keeping up a good pace overall. She did pull on the leash somewhat, but would always stop and come back to us when asked. My husband and I really enjoye

My adoption fee has been fully sponsored. Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!Hi There! Benny Boy is a playful, large boy who has had sleepeovers where he played with toys, was comfortable in the home, loved his couch and being handled. Knows sit, responsive on the leash, enjoys a great roll in the grass. A chill friendly guy who would love a home where he`s treated like one of the family. He has been at OCAS for 100 days or more. Please consider taking a second look at this wonderful boy. Staff has noted that while here, he have been friendly towards new people, appear to be housetrained, and have done with with medical exams. Staff still recommends slow and monitored introductions to any new people and animals in the homeINSIGHTS FROM MY DOG DAY OUT SLEEPOVER:`Benny Boy came over for a sleepover and he was a very good boy. He was respectful in the home. No jumping, counter surfing or trying to take food. I actually ate near him several times and he just laid next to me without even begging. He can be a little particular about treats, mostly preferring chicken and other meat treats. He can hold a sit and be patient. We took him on several walks. He is quite strong and does pull at times, but after the first walk he did start to calm down and pull less. He is kinda funny when riding in the car. He likes to sit or stand on the floor and look backwards instead of forwards. He did do well when meeting my dog, picking up on her cues when she didn’t want to play anymore. He really likes hugs and cuddles. He found a whale toy that he played with for hours. He had some difficulty with resting in the crate at

My adoption fee has been fully sponsored. Adopt me and pay $0.00!!!Hello! My name is Crowley! I came into the shelter with `happy tail`, some face injuries and a bit underweight. I`m eating well and on the path to a good weight! I am currently on some medications to help heal up my injuries which has already improved while under the care of the shelter. I am a very happy and food motivated guy! I can get a bit rambunctious during play so it is recommended that I not be with small children as I could accidentally knock them down and overwhelm them. Thanks for considering adopting me!

Story
Griffin is a charming boy with such a goofy personality! Smart, friendly and playful, he adores all toys (especially bouncy balls) and is always up for an adventure. Eager to please and motivated by tasty treats, Griffin is attentive when practicing basic commands. He has mastered a beautiful "sit" and "down," and he is fully crate-trained. After a busy day of sniffing and playing with his foster sisters, he's happy to rest in his crate with a tasty peanut butter kong, and he sleeps through the night in his crate. Since Griffin is very curious and wants to learn about everything, crating when unattended remains the safest option for this inquisitive guy. Griffin would benefit from continued training on a leash. He pulls because he is very excited to see everything he can as he walks. He barks and pulls when passing people and dogs but is working on keeping eye contact with his walker. At this time Griffin will require a detached home with a fenced yard. Griffin's favorite outside play is anything involving a ball! He LOVES a super-bouncy ball and returns it for another throw. He also enjoys sniffing for treats as we walk around the fenced yard; lounging in the sun and chewing on a ball is a great way for him to spend an afternoon. He has interacted with children but is jumpy with the excitement of meeting new friends, so for now, older children would be the best fit for him. Griffin likes other dogs but requires a slow introduction. Once he's comfortable with new dog friends, all's well and he follows their cues. When he's not busy playing or training, Griffin wants nothing more than pets and snuggles. A lovable cuddle bug, he curls up right next to you once he's worn himself out. Griffin will thrive in an environment that will keep him active, engaged, and supervised. Smart, spunky Griffin will only continue to blossom in a patient and loving forever home! Could that be you? HEALTH Griffin is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, heartworm negative, and neutered. HISTORY Griffin came from a local shelter.

Meet Rizzo! This sweet pitty is searching for her forever home and ready to bring joy to your life. Currently recovering from mange, she's sporting a temporary pink hue-hence the name! Story
I am trying to help my elderly neighbor find a new home for his 4-year-old American Pittbull. He is 77 years old, and his wife is 78 and uses a walker, so they can no longer walk and provide an active lifestyle for their dog, Stormy. Stormy is well-behaved, and we are willing to give a few private dog training sessions offered by Puppy Prep By Steele for future owners to help with the transition. Stormy is spayed and fully vaccinated, and we can provide all her records.
