Story
Meet Julia, the adorable and charming pup in search of her forever home! Julia is a bundle of sweetness wrapped in a furry coat. She's not just your ordinary dog; she's the sweetest, most lovable, and incredibly active companion you could ever ask for. This little ball of fluff is unique in many ways, starting with her hush-hush nature. Julia is a true gem - she rarely barks or whines, ensuring peaceful days and quiet nights. This sociable pup is a firm believer in love, and she showers it on everyone she meets, be it humans or her fellow four-legged pals. She's a natural playmate and can match the energy of larger dogs effortlessly. Timid? Not a chance! Julia's confidence shines through in everything she does. Julia's favorite pastime is as heartwarming as it gets. Picture this: she adores curling up in your lap, just like a baby, and reveling in the joy of belly rubs. It's the sweetest bonding time you'll ever experience. However, don't expect Julia to be a fan of vacuum cleaners – they're her sworn enemies! But when it comes to playtime, this little dynamo loves chasing balls with lightning speed, although she might have a secret ambition to be a shoe retriever extraordinaire. When it's time for a walk, Julia's enthusiasm knows no bounds. She'll eagerly sit and even assist in getting her harness on – a true sign that she's ready for an exciting "sniffari" adventure. A harness is definitely a must for this curious explorer. Julia has mastered the art of crate training, even though she's not particularly fond of her crate. At night, you'll find her cozily sleeping on her dog bed in the bedroom, a testament to her growing trust and comfort in her new home. It's worth noting that she may have some abandonment or anxiety issues, but with your love and care, these can be overcome. Potty training is progressing wonderfully, thanks to the quality time spent together during the day. Julia thrives on attention, so an ideal home for her would be with an active family that includes kids. The more attention she gets, the happier she'll be. Julia may have a moderate or seasonal outdoor allergy and occasionally experiences those adorable reverse sneezes. She might be a little nervous about car rides, but she's a patient passenger who's never had any accidents. If you're looking for a loving, active, and charming furry friend to join your family, Julia is the perfect match. She's ready to share her heart and paws with you and fill your life with endless love and joy. Don't miss the chance to bring this wonderful pup into your home – Julia is waiting for you! ##1818128##

Story
Eros is all the puppy energy you could ask for in a fully grown medium sized dog. Sweet, smart and easy to train, this boy loves to play with dogs, cats, and people. He's crate trained and house trained. This little pit mix is the definition of super chewer! He loves to gnaw gnaw gnaw his toys, so teeth-safe durable toys are a must! He will happily take on destuffing a plush toy, though he tends to try to ingest anything he shreds, so supervised destuffing is necessary.Eros LOVES couches! He has shown little interest in sleeping on the bed with his foster siblings/parents. His go-to sleep, nap, and sit place is the couch.Eros would love a dog sibling to play with, and while he likes cats, he can be a bit much, so any feline siblings need to be dog savvy and have places to get up and away from his antics. He is learning leash manners, but will need continued education in this area. He's not aggressive, just impatient and overly excited to gogogo.Adoption fee of $150 includes neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: http://2pawsup.org/2pawsup_wp/forms/adoption-form/September 25, 2023, 4:26 pm

Sasha is such a sweet girl. She was brought to the shelter full of milk and emaciated. It was obvious she had a tough start to life. This sweet girl deserves her happily ever after. She is extremely loving and doesn't know a stranger. She is happy to meet anyone as long as they provide tons of head scratches. She's doing well with potty, leash and crate training. She will need someone to continue her lessons. She's very smart and treat motivated. She is very excited when meeting new dogs and has done well with them. Story
Meet Darwin, a super sweet pitbull mix who had a rough start with life. But don't let his scars fool you! He's a high-energy, playful cuddle bug who loves ear skitches, giving kisses, and extended play sessions. He knows basic obedience (sit, down, stay) and some fun commands (sit pretty, spin), and he's always up for learning more! He's also an aggressive chewer (stuffed toys last about 0.56 seconds), so durable toys are recommended. He will chew on anything within his paws' reach if left unattended and to his own devices. He has crate reactivity issues, so he needs an owner willing to work with him on overcoming prior trauma related to crating. He would not work well in an apartment, as neighbors would not be happy with his canine symphony.Darwin is good with other dogs on a transactional basis and loves attending daycare! However, he must be the only dog in your household, as long-term exposure to other dogs can lead to fear-related aggression. Darwin has a big heart and lots of love to give, and if you're looking for an active pup to take on adventures, he's the perfect dog for you!Adoption fee of $150 includes neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: http://2pawsup.org/2pawsup_wp/forms/adoption-form/September 25, 2023, 4:26 pm

🥒THIS PICKLE IS A BIG DILL! 🥒 Pickles is a friendly girl that's Loyal, Smart and Easy to love.🥰 She makes an excellent companion! She's Calm & Gentle. Loving but not overly with it.. 💤She's a total nap queen!👑 Easy to care for & super sweet!💕 She's completely🏠 house trained & trustworthy.💯 I can tell she carries some fear of abandonment so understandably, she does show some concern for being left alone as she would prefer to go🚗but always excited you come back for her.🐕 Her favorite things to do, 🙂 just be around good people. She enjoys car rides, walks, watching 👀 surrounding's, sniffing, lounging, comfy spots for snoring, ☀️ laying in the sun, visitor's & occasionally toys, mostly when she gets visitors but she's really the least demanding dog I've ever known & quite easy to care for. 💫She's A Real Catch! 🚧Just don't let her catch a squirrel.🐿️ They really like to mess with her but she's come a long way with 🐾Training.⭐⭐⭐ Learning city life and being attached to the leash, she's picking up quickly & doing good. Pickles recently escaped a high kill shelter & is being Fostered in RALEIGH NC her history is a bit confusing but she is Wonderful. Pickles is listed as 4 years old, Med. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. You MUST submit a Best Friend Pet Adoption application to be considered. Our application is at  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC   Sequoia Ruby is a gorgeous Blue Fawn Pittie. She's around 1.5 year old and about 50-55lbs. She's a nice size and has a compact, muscular build. She has a happy, confident personality and enjoys meeting new people. She's quick to make friends and is not shy about showing her silly, playful side. This sweet lady is up for anything - nice long walks, hikes, beach trips - anywhere fun where she can explore and be with her people. She loves car rides and would be happy to join you, even if it's a short trip to Starbucks for a pup cup! She overall is great on leash, she may need a reminder to "heel", but usually has good manners.  Ruby is crated trained and has done well being crated for extended periods of time. She needs to be crated when no one is home and is currently being crated overnight.   Ruby has a medium/high energy and would do best with a fenced yard and with fairly active people. She still has some excitable puppy energy, but after playtime, she will relax and enjoys sunbathing or snuggle on the couch with her people. She would be fine as an only dog or with a well matched neutered male. She sometimes gets too excited with new dogs and may be too much for some. She may ignore their social ques, but is learning impulse control and redirects well. She needs a person that will keep her in check if she becomes too overwhelming towards other dogs.   Ruby is very smart and knows basic commands and a few tricks! She's food motivated, toy driven and eager to learn. She likes to play fetch and very much enjoys chasing a flirt pole. A flirt pole is an excellent way to drain her energy and strengthen your bond with her. An experience owner that can provide daily physical and mental stimulation would bring out the best in her - she thrives when she has direction and consistency.   She would be ok with older children, she may be too excitable for the youngsters. She hasn't been completely cat tested, she may do well with a "dog confident" cat, but if a shy kitty runs, prey drive may kick in. Cat intros would need to be done slow and appropriate. Sequoia Ruby has been waiting for a forever home (or a foster home) for over 6 months, please consider meeting this fun girl, she would LOVE to meet you!   Best Friend Pet Adoption prefers that you live no further than an hours drive from the Triangle area of North Carolina. For the right family, we may consider further distances but prefer applicants live a reasonable distance from Raleigh NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING SEQUOIA RUBY? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  All dogs on our website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs. Please consider this sweet girl today! Here is our application:    https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Frannie is a sweet and beautiful, Blue Brindle Pittie. She's about 15 months old and weighs around 45-50lbs. She is gentle natured with lots of personality. She's super cute and will give you a silly, full body "giggle" wag! She loves being with her people and is a wonderful companion.   Frannie has done well with her crate training and house breaking. She needs to be crated when left home alone (6-7 hours), and as of now she is crated overnight. She's food & toy motivated, eager to please and is learning basic manners. She is gentle with food and waits patiently for her meals. At times, she still acts like a puppy, but overall she has good impulse control and likes to chill on a dog bed and entertain herself with a bone or toy.   Fran overall has great leash manners but may need reminders to "settle/leave it" when something excites her. She can be an alert barker and would do best in a home not an apartment. Although, she goes potty well on leash, she would really enjoy a fenced yard to get her "zoomies" out. She has a moderate energy level and after playtime with her foster siblings, she enjoys exploring the yard and sunbathing on porch or lounging on couch/bed. She also likes to play fetch and learning to bring back.   Frannie would do best with good natured, neutered male dog that could help guide her when she's unsure. She would do ok as an only too as she loves getting attention from her humans. She would do ok with older kids (8+). She's good with "dog savvy" cats, but if kitty is shy and runs, the chase may be fun -slow and appropriate intros are always recommended with kitties.   Like many other rescue dogs, Frannie had an unstable start to life and has some insecurities, but she will open up quickly with treats and sweet talk. She has been in foster care for over 9 months and has come along away from the shy puppy she was. She would succeed greatly with a dog experience owner that can continue to build her confidence. Breed experience is always appreciated, but she would be fine for a first time Pit Bull owner. Please consider adopting (or fostering) this sweet little lady!   Check out Frannie's videos below! Story
Ellie lived with her 90-year-old owner (my father) from late 2020 until he moved to a memory care facility at the end of 2022. The original plan when he could no longer care for her was for her to be integrated into my own household. But she is not safe to house with cats, and I have four. Otherwise, Ellie is a fine dog -- a couch potato that enjoys a good walk but has spent most of the past three years living exactly the life you might imagine for the dog of a disabled elderly person: Lots of couch time watching TV, punctuated by several daily trips out to the fenced-in yard. Ellie would make a fine companion for a first-time dog owner just because she is so easy-going. She might be happiest, however, with other dog friends. Because she had such a strong reaction to cats, it would be safest if she joined a household that is also without very small dogs. I recommend that other dogs in the home weigh at least 25 pounds, or more than half of Ellie's forty-pound size.

Story
Say hello to sweet Ariel. She’s in need of a foster home, or adoptive home by the end of May. She’s very people oriented and enjoys going for rides with her people and walks in parks, Ariel likes to fetch toys in the backyard and will be quite trainable as she aims to please. She will learn new commands with a bit of guidance and practice. She currently knows how to sit, stay, lay down, roll over, speak. Ariel is an extremely smart, happy, loyal, energetic girl. Ariel is house trained. When she goes outside on a leash she immediately does her business and then carries on with her walk. She loves walks in nature and also loves to carry her stuffed animals with her. When its time to quiet down, Ariel loves to chomp on bones. She has been adopted for 3 years and goes my Meeko. Her family can no longer care for her so she needs a home immediately. Ariel loves: ⁃ Being active: running, long walks, playing ⁃ To snuggle (on her time) ⁃ Rubs & puppy massages ⁃ Treats (especially frozen peanut butter kongs) ⁃ Games like tug a war & hide n seek (telling her to stay while you hid the ball in a room & them her to find it) ⁃ People ⁃ Kids (but does not always know her own strength) Ariel is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines and ready to begin the next chapter in her adventure. If you are interested please apply at apply.neshamarescue.org

Story
Meet Fae, the one-of-a-kind female dog who's sure to steal your heart! With her unique appearance and a touch of aloofness, Fae is a gem waiting to be discovered. She might be unsure of how to act at times, but her default mode is to lay down and charm you. Fae's past as a stray remains a mystery, but what we do know is that she's a cuddler who can't help but make the cutest snorting noises when excited. Fae's journey at the shelter has revealed her playful side, particularly with other energetic dogs. She enjoys engaging in rough play, making her a perfect match for companions who share her lively style. While Fae occasionally jumps with enthusiasm in her kennel, she's a breeze to leash and has a mild reactivity when walking around other dogs. She's got basic commands down pat-sit, down-and takes treats gently. Fae is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times. If you're interested in learning more about Fae, please reach out to our Volunteer Matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Fae #241929." Meet Selena! This super sweet, energetic, and loving girl is ready for her forever home! She is an absolute goofball and is welcoming to any and everyone. It's hard not to fall in love with her. Selena is fully potty trained and has had no accidents despite recently living in a boarding facility. Selena is a high energy dog who loves to run around and burn off lots of energy! Her favorite thing to do is go on a long walk at the end of the day. Selena would thrive with an owner who can dedicate a couple of hours a day of exercising her. Selena would best fit in a home with no cats or small animals given her history of liking to chase small animals. Selena is quite the escape artist and can break out of a normal wire crate. She is also super snuggly and loves getting lots of attention. She does have a heart murmur that has been assessed by a cardiologist - she has no symptoms, so she is currently on a twice a day pill that she takes in a treat! If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and energetic pup, Selena might be the perfect match for you!Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: http://2pawsup.org/2pawsup_wp/forms/adoption-form/September 25, 2023, 4:26 pm
