You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Ava (affectionally known as Junebug) is a playful and sweet puppy with beautiful blue eyes looking for her forever home. She loves to play tug-of-war with ropes and chase after balls. She is very curious, not to mention intelligent, and already knows how to sit for treats. She goes up and down stairs easily to go outside. She loves taking naps. She flops down whenever her energy runs out and you can tell she’s asleep because of her adorably loud snores. She engages well with her slightly grumpy fur foster sibling. She is good with teenagers and would probably do well with younger kids as well. Ava was born on April 5th and is ready to be the perfect family member, with lots of love and kisses to share! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Ace is a playful and lovable pup. He is working on basic commands (come, sit, inside) and is 95% potty trained!  Ace loves to frolic in a fenced in yard with his sibling and fur-foster.  He can navigate a short flight of steps (8) to get from the deck to the yard. Ace is crate trained when he is left home alone, and he sleeps the whole night in his crate! During the day he plays and relaxes with his sibling in a puppy play pen while his foster humans work from home. He LOVES playing with all toys - little/big, ball/bone/kong/squeaky/etc.  Ace currently lives with a 30lb female fur-foster but his playful nature can sometimes be too much for her. He also lives with two human toddlers (3 and 4 yr old) but his puppy behavior is a bit much for them so he will likely do best in a home with older kids. He has not been cat tested.  Ace has done great in the car and in the bath. If you are looking for an adorable and goofy companion, apply to adopt Ace here: https://www.pawfectmatch.org/animals/detail?AnimalID=20523755  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 12, 2024, 4:46 pm

Story
Lady is around 10 or 11. We rescued her so we don’t know exactly. She is older & need a home without small children and who can give her attention. She is very good with my kids but then being so young definitely bothers her and I know she’d be happier without them.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  All dogs on our website ARE available and require an approved Best Friend Pet Adoption application before you can be considered or meet any of our dogs. Please consider this sweet girl today! Here is our application:    https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC Frannie is a sweet and beautiful, Blue Brindle Pittie. She's about 15 months old and weighs around 45-50lbs. She is gentle natured with lots of personality. She's super cute and will give you a silly, full body "giggle" wag! She loves being with her people and is a wonderful companion.   Frannie has done well with her crate training and house breaking. She needs to be crated when left home alone (6-7 hours), and as of now she is crated overnight. She's food & toy motivated, eager to please and is learning basic manners. She is gentle with food and waits patiently for her meals. At times, she still acts like a puppy, but overall she has good impulse control and likes to chill on a dog bed and entertain herself with a bone or toy.   Fran overall has great leash manners but may need reminders to "settle/leave it" when something excites her. She can be an alert barker and would do best in a home not an apartment. Although, she goes potty well on leash, she would really enjoy a fenced yard to get her "zoomies" out. She has a moderate energy level and after playtime with her foster siblings, she enjoys exploring the yard and sunbathing on porch or lounging on couch/bed. She also likes to play fetch and learning to bring back.   Frannie would do best with good natured, neutered male dog that could help guide her when she's unsure. She would do ok as an only too as she loves getting attention from her humans. She would do ok with older kids (8+). She's good with "dog savvy" cats, but if kitty is shy and runs, the chase may be fun -slow and appropriate intros are always recommended with kitties.   Like many other rescue dogs, Frannie had an unstable start to life and has some insecurities, but she will open up quickly with treats and sweet talk. She has been in foster care for over 9 months and has come along away from the shy puppy she was. She would succeed greatly with a dog experience owner that can continue to build her confidence. Breed experience is always appreciated, but she would be fine for a first time Pit Bull owner. Please consider adopting (or fostering) this sweet little lady!   Check out Frannie's videos below! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   If you are interested in Skye, please submit an application at  https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCN. She would love to meet you!   Skye is an adorable Pittie pup with soft, expressive eyes that will melt your heart. This pretty girl is gentle natured and has a sweet, affectionate personality. She can be unsure in new surroundings and may need a little encouragement with treats/toys & happy talk - but it doesn't take long for her to open up and be a silly, happy puppy.    She's food motivated and will be an easy learner with someone that is dedicated to training. When excited, she may jump, but she's eager to please and redirects nicely with a verbal "off" and/or "sit". Surprisingly, she has good impulse control for a puppy, especially if food is involved. She has even learned to sit & wait patiently for her meals! She's doing great with her potty & crate training - she may whine at first in crate, but will usually settle and entertain herself with a toy or bone. She is learning leash manners with an Easy Walk harness.  She also enjoys car.    Skye loves playing with her foster siblings and would thrive with having a well-mannered, neutered male sibling to help teach and guide her. She would do ok as an only dog with a family that is committed to training, socialization and confidence building. She's been tested with a couple older, "dog tolerant" kitties and is respectful of them. She loves children and would be a wonderful family dog.     Every dog has their story:  Skye was posted as a "Free Puppy" on Craigslist and a BFPA volunteer happened to stumble across her ad. Knowing that the situation could possibly turn out bad for this little cutie, she scooped her up and reached out for assistance. Come to find out, before coming to BFPA, baby Skye was tossed from home to home (to no fault of her own). She was in 4 different homes during the first 4 months of her puppyhood. This poor girl never experienced stability during the most important time of her life. She is craving for someone to give her all the love & attention she's been needing. With a little patience, guidance and security, Skye will bond strong with her family and be a wonderful companion.    Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.      Applicants must live no further than one hour from Raleigh/Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian /volunteer for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized. Adopters must be willing to bring their dog to the Raleigh/Cary area for all medical care needed.  Foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore require applicants to live within one hour drive of Raleigh/Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING SKYE?
