Story
American Staffordshire Terrier 7 years old Female 60 pounds Kids · 6+ Dogs · Dog selective Cats · No Do you think I have “the look”? You know, so that I might set the canine modeling world on fire! I am also looking into design; my love line of fashion comes pret-a-porter, and I think it will look fabulous on you! Nothing beats a cozy sweater if you ask me. I do need an agent to help me get discovered—is that something that would interest you? You have seen enough episodes of America’s Next Top Model to give me some pointers, right? I’m on the search for only the best home, and it must come equipped with lots of snuggles. I am well on my way to becoming a doggy supermodel—I prefer to be the only dog and if I am going to be around other pups I do need very well managed, very slow intros. I absolutely adore calm children who know how to treat me with respect, but kitty cats best get out of my shot! You can even put a spotlight on my crate training, housebreaking, and obedience skills, and you’ll see that they are flawless. With your help and commitment, I know I can rise to icon status! Then won’t you feel pretty cool having an internationally published pup on the end of your leash? Let’s work to make both our dreams come true! My adoption fee is $180 and includes spay, microchip & registration, 1 month pet health insurance for Oregon residents, reduced-cost training class, free vet exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Story
Benny was rescued in Texas and has adapted really well to being the best boy. He is the sweetest pit Bull mix you’ll meet. He loves people and loves to cuddle and play. He is 4.5-5 years old and is house trained. He’s really smart. Due to a new career shift that requires traveling for weeks at a time, Benny’s mom has made the heartbreaking decision to try and give him a better life by rehoming him with someone who can really take care of him (and she is very open to an open adoption!). He is aggressive with other dogs and very territorial. He needs someone with a yard, no other pets (at first), and dedicated to getting him better behaviorally trained. His behavior is not why he is getting rehomed — it is not his fault. Please help him find a real forever home. With rehoming, Benny needs to take his things! you will get the following: - two beds - food and water tray - water dispenser - food to last 2+ weeks - plenty of toys and treats.

We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Buttercup, 2yr old, spayed female, pitbull mix, 51 pounds. Buttercup resides in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Buttercup was saved from the county shelter and was housed with another dog, and went into a foster home with other pups. She was able to do integrate well but, because of her hearing impairment, she gets startled easily and becomes very defensive when surprised. It is not that she cannot be around other dogs but she needs time to feel comfortable and secure before letting her guard down. To alleviate this, we have found putting up a fence/x-pen and allowing her to see/"meet" the dogs before being let loose with them works best for Buttercup. Buttercup has learned some basic obedience using hand signals and tactile marks, and has learned to connect seeing other dogs with a long tap on her right shoulder. Her ideal home would be one who sees her hearing challenges as an opportunity to connect on a deeper level with her and will take the time to train Buttercup, whether on their own or through professional courses. Buttercup is very human friendly and affectionate. She's a gentle lovebug working to navigate her way through this world with the guidance of her human. She would do best with kids 10 years or older due to her size and hearing issues, which may result in her being startled by young kids. Buttercup is a solid 4/10 level dog - she can be playful and excited but her default is to sit back and watch, assess. She is well mannered and doesn't beg, and is overall easy to handle on the leash, with minimal reactivity on walks. She is fully house and crate trained, and enjoys snoozing in bed or riding in a car for adventures. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her? If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Lunesta, 6 years old, spayed female, pit bull mix, 55lbs. Lunesta is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up! Lulu is a sweet, medium energy kind of gal who loves to play. She is in a foster home with a resident pit bull and a shih tzu, and tries engaging them in play. She would love to have a home with a canine companion to play with her. The resident shih tzu will get barky and nippy at Lulu, and she walks away, ignoring him entirely. Lulu doesn't have much body awareness and will body check the other dogs when playing or when treats come out. She pushes and shoves to the front of the line for a treat, to get the toy or to be the first one out the door. She can also be quite clumsy, sometimes running into the doors or walls because she is so focused on looking back at you. Lulu loves to play but also loves to snuggle up and rest with you, or on her own in the crate or on the couch. She is a sweet cuddle bear and enjoys following you around the house ensuring you are never alone nor under attack from an unseen foe. Going to the kitchen? Lulu's coming too. Need to use the restroom? Good idea, she should join you. Headed outside for some vitamin D? Perfect, that is just what she wanted to do also! Not even joking, Lulu really does love the sun and baking as long as you will let her. Lulu is a toy hoarder. She will sneak and steal the toys from her siblings but is not aggressive of them. As a general rule of the foster, all dogs are fed separately to ensure they eat their own meals but not because anyone resource guards their food. We have no history with cats but when walking her and she sees one, she wants to charge at it. She has been around children ages 10 and up without issue, and we have no reason to think she couldn't be around very young kids as she's not super jumpy or energetic. Typically recommend a home with kids over the age of 10 years, or those who can understand and will respect animal behavior cues. Lulu does need to work on her leash manners as she is all over the place and pulls with the typical pittie energy. A harness or Gentle Leader head collar may yield the best results but Lulu's foster has been working patiently with her on this training. Lulu is nearly fully housetrained but will "go" if it has been too long between her potty breaks. She does not have any accidents overnight in her kennel. Lunesta is crate trained and does very well, sleeping and taking her meals in the kennel, as well as being put up when unable to be supervised. She would do best in a home willing to help her reinforce the basic manners she already has, ensuring a good solid connection through training and structure. She would enjoy a moderately active house with some walks and fetch opportunities, lots of snuggles and cuddles, and possibly another doggy sibling or two. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ Yogi, 6 years old, neutered male, mastiff and pit bull mix, 63 pounds. He is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport to an approved adopter. Please note, he is physically located in the State of Texas. We want to start with Yogi's ~VERY minimal~ health maintenance. We had him meet with a specialist regarding his eye. He has "dry eye" in his right eye, which requires daily eye drops. There is a possibility this will resolve in time, but we anticipate him needing these drops for his lifetime. It does not deter him from daily life in any way. We would be happy to chat more with an applicant. Yogi was originally named "Porcel" by the shelter but once our foster recognized his "yo yo" nature, we quickly came to the realization that Yogi was a much better fit. Yogi is extremely dog friendly - big, small, old or young, he gets along with them all. He has consistently worked on his manners during doggy daycare and in various temporary foster care. He is extremely deferential, play bowing and chasing practically anything that you toss. He does best with another dog who likes to engage in playful activity. He is curious about other dogs when on leash but does not bark or pull towards them. Yogi has met kids around 8 years and older. He is generally uninterested in new people (kids included) unless they want to play with him. This looks like playing catch, throwing or kicking a ball etc. We will note he is very intent when there is a ball involved so would recommend a home with kids who can be mindful of his focus when a ball is involved but want to be clear: he is never - ever - overbearing or forceful when a ball is within view. He loves pets from strangers, men, women and children, but is fixated when a ball is around. Generally we recommend homes with kids over 10yr or those who can and will understand animal behavior cues. Even given his exuberance to play, Yogi gives the impression he can be safely around young children without incident. We have no history with cats. He has stayed with a temp foster who has an outside cat, and shown no reaction although we would definitely recommend slow - if necessary - interactions. Yogi walks really well on leash. He has a loose leash, walks in a straight line and does not pull. He is fully housebroken. He does well when crated and prefers to have his chew toys crated with him. He is generally quiet when crated. As mentioned, Yogi LOVES his balls and toys, etc. We have found he may resource guard those items around other dogs but he is in no way aggressive, just possessive and protective. He is responsive when redirected but it is important to note if other dogs in the home. That said, because of the high value the toy provides, Yogi is easy to train without "wasting" calories. Yogi is an energetic dog and is looking for a moderately active home - he does not need long walks at all, he will be fully satiated with the time spent playing fetch as long as you wish to throw the ball. He does fully enjoy his daily walks so if this is your preferred exercise, he is more than happy to oblige. Yogi is goofy, curious and loveable, and makes friends with anyone he encounters. He enjoys water and mud, and always has some kind of a silly look on his face. *Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Story
Rose was pulled from a very high kill shelter when she was in late term pregnancy and on the euthanasia list. She was an excellent mama of nine puppies and is now ready to find her forever home. She is in a foster home with children and other dogs. She loves hugs and playing toss with her toys. She is gentle with the children but is a big girl so probably best no young kiddos. She has medium energy, loves walks and to play but also can be a complete coach potato. She is in a home with many other dogs and gets along great.
