Meet Dixie! This sweet girl is the ultimate cuddle bug—she hasn’t read the book on personal space (and never plans to). Whether you’re sitting, napping, or just trying to drink your coffee, Dixie believes every moment is a snuggle moment. She is still learning how to be the best dog she can be and will need a loving family who can teach her with patience and treats! Dixie has energy to spare and will do best in a home with children over 12 years of age. If you’re looking for a weighted blanket with legs, that has a heart as big as her smile, Dixie is your girl!If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
Chance is sponsored by Krystal Kraig Labate.Meet Chance! 🐾Chance is a happy, goofy bully breed mix with a smile so big it should come with a warning label. This guy loves people and lives for attention—especially butt scratches. If you’re looking for a dog who thinks your hands exist solely to pet him, Chance is your man. He’s got some truly impressive hidden talents, too. Chance has mastered the art of pooping with one rear leg lifted (balance is overrated), and his signature “dance” move is best described as enthusiastic hopping around on his back legs. Graceful? No. Endearing? Extremely.Chance prefers durable chew toys like Nylabones over plush toys and needs regular exercise to burn off his zoomies. Once he’s had his fun, he’s more than happy to settle in for the evening, cuddled up on a soft dog bed near his favorite people. If you’re looking for a loving, silly companion who will keep you laughing and then happily snuggle by your side, Chance might just be the one you’ve been waiting for. 💙If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Halle Girl is sponsored by Major Ball.Meet Halle Girl! 🌺💖This sweet pit bull mix came to us all the way from Maui, and she’s ready to start her new chapter on the mainland! Halle Girl recently had surgery on her right second mammary and is healing up wonderfully. Before that, she was a devoted mama who raised her puppies with so much love — now it’s her turn to be cared for and adored. The shelter can feel a little overwhelming for her (all that barking isn’t exactly island vibes!), but once she’s out of the chaos, her gentle, loving nature shines. She’s a total cuddlebug who wants nothing more than to be close to her person, soaking up every bit of affection. With a little patience and kindness, Halle Girl will quickly become your shadow and your best friend. She’s ready to leave her mama days behind and start her own happily-ever-after!If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a heart as warm as the Hawaiian sun, Halle Girl is your girl. 🌸🐾If you are interested in meeting Halle Girl, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
Ghost is sponsored by River & Ben.Hi, I’m Ghost!I’m a pit bull–Dalmatian mix, which basically means I’m a marshmallow with feelings. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but when I learn trust you, my fun and excitable personality comes out. Personal space will become a thing of the past once I know your safe! I like to use my voice when stressed and would do best as the only dog in a home or with a calm dog (I tend to mirror the feelings of those around me).The shelter can feel a little overwhelming for me (all that barking and energy amps me up), but once I'm out of the chaos, my snuggly, loving nature shines. Apartment life isn’t really my style—I’d love a home with a fenced backyard where I can feel safe, happy and get my energy out with zoomies. With a little patience, I’ll be a loyal and loving companion.Love, Ghost 👻🐾If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Gronk is sponsored by Danny Flensborg.Hi, I’m Gronk!I’m a big, muscle-bound pit bull terrier mix with the heart of a marshmallow and the coordination of a baby rhino. I may look like I could bench-press a refrigerator, but honestly? I’d rather bench-press your lap. With my whole body. Immediately. My hobbies include:Being extremely handsome (I was born this way, can’t help it)Carrying around toys that are clearly too small for meWagging my tail so hard I generate a mild breezeForgetting my size and attempting to sit on people instead of next to themGiving kisses that could count as a full facial exfoliationLooking intimidating to strangers while actually being 97% puddingShelter life can be a bit overwhelming for me — all the noise, movement, and big emotions around me can make me feel overstimulated. I’m one of those sensitive souls who really feels the energy of my surroundings. But once I’m out of the chaos and into a calm, loving home, you’ll see my true personality come out. Ideal home:Someone who likes big dogs, cuddle therapy, and possibly installing a sturdier couch. I do best with humans who appreciate that “personal space” is more of a suggestion than a rule.If you’re searching for a loyal best friend who is equal parts goofy jock and snuggly teddy bear, I’m your guy. Come meet me! I promise to flex my muscles, give you a smile, and absolutely win your heart.Love, Gronk 🐾If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment.
