Story
Hello, my name is Paisley! I'm an athletic and curious young lady with a playful side. Though I'm not sure about other dogs just yet, I'm sure we can become best friends in no time. I'm kennel trained, and I'd prefer to be in a home with older kids since I sometimes get so excited that I jump up on people - I just can't help it! I also love to run around and explore, so I'll need a backyard or at least a long walking route. I can be a bit of a puller on walks, so I'd benefit from some training and a gentle lead. I'm always up for a game of fetch or a good chew session - I just can't choose toys that are not super strong! If you think you can keep up with my active lifestyle, we might be a perfect match. Come meet me today and see for yourself

Story
We got him from a family friend. Born 10-02-2023. He needs someone who has time to play and walk around with him, he loves to cuddle and is very patient when getting bathed (as long as the water is warm). He’ll eat all day if you let him and is smart with interactive toys/meals. He knows how to sit, shake, wait and when given a bowl of food will wait till someone says bon appetite or motions with their hand to go ahead. He enjoys bully sticks and frozen treats/meals. Doesn't have too much experience on a leash and doesn't like getting his ears cleaned or nails trimmed. He’s never shown any signs of aggression. Never had any accidents indoors and is kennel trained.

Story
Ace is 5 years old, his birthday is September 25th, 2019! He needs lots of love, space and someone who has time to walk him, care for him, and play with him. He has skin allergies, and chicken seems to trigger them. He hates going in kennels, so if plan to kennel him he will need to be retrained for that as he has been a mainly outdoor dog. We are unfortunately having to downsize in homes, and work 12+ hour shifts 6 days out of the week. He’s a sweet boy but definitely needs extra love and time and patience to retrain him in the way he needs. Probably someone who doesn’t have younger kids or other animals to begin with, but he is fine around other dogs and kids but he needs a lot of attention.

Story
Samson is the most loving dog and wonderful companion. He loves to cuddle next to you or even better on you :) He’s very chill and loves his naps, but is always up for a walk or going to the park. He thrives with lots of attention and his favorite thing is his snuffle mat! We adopted Samson from the Portland Humane Society in Jan/2024 when he was 2 years old. He warmed up to us right away, but sadly, after trying everything he has not warmed up to our cat. It simply is not a good match and has become too difficult keeping them apart all the time, so we have made the tough decision to find Samson a new home. We hope to find him a loving home soon 💚

Story
Meet Dixie! This sweet girl is the ultimate cuddle bug—she hasn’t read the book on personal space (and never plans to). Whether you’re sitting, napping, or just trying to drink your coffee, Dixie believes every moment is a snuggle moment. She is still learning how to be the best dog she can be and will need a loving family who can teach her with patience and treats! Dixie has energy to spare and will do best in a home with children over 12 years of age. If you’re looking for a weighted blanket with legs, that has a heart as big as her smile, Dixie is your girl!If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
Chance is sponsored by Krystal Kraig Labate.Meet Chance! 🐾Chance is a happy, goofy bully breed mix with a smile so big it should come with a warning label. This guy loves people and lives for attention—especially butt scratches. If you’re looking for a dog who thinks your hands exist solely to pet him, Chance is your man. He’s got some truly impressive hidden talents, too. Chance has mastered the art of pooping with one rear leg lifted (balance is overrated), and his signature “dance” move is best described as enthusiastic hopping around on his back legs. Graceful? No. Endearing? Extremely.Chance prefers durable chew toys like Nylabones over plush toys and needs regular exercise to burn off his zoomies. Once he’s had his fun, he’s more than happy to settle in for the evening, cuddled up on a soft dog bed near his favorite people. If you’re looking for a loving, silly companion who will keep you laughing and then happily snuggle by your side, Chance might just be the one you’ve been waiting for. 💙If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment.
