Story
Gemma was a doting mother to a litter of 11 puppies in California who have all found homes and now it's time for her to find her very own home! Gemma was picked up by our rescue partner in California as a stray just one day before she gave birth. She quickly acclimated to living, whelping and raising her puppies in a foster home with 10 other dogs both large and small. She was such a good mom and is so deserving of a wonderful home now. - 76 pounds and approximately 3 years old - Likely a Pit Bull mix - Very social with people and loves everyone she meets! Gemma has not lived with children but think she has met a 3 year old child and was very appropriate, did not overwhelm the child or try to jump up and seemed happy to interact with the child. - Good with other dogs both large and small. We would recommend dogs at least 15 pounds or bigger only because Gemma can be playful at times. We prefer to place female bully breeds into homes with male dogs for the best chances of long term success. Gemma is currently fostered with a female dog her size though and has done well. They play together a lot and cuddle together! - No cats. She does have a prey drive for squirrels and alerts to cats so she will need a small home without small animals. - Nice medium energy. She is happy to lounge, watch TV with you and hang out, but also enjoys playing with the resident dog in her foster home and could be a fun adventure buddy getting active outside. - No leash reactivity noted. Gemma does wear a prong collar on walks because she can be a strong puller. She does much better with the prong collar. - Crate trained and is happy to go in her crate for naps and to relax. - LOVES toys! She really enjoys playing with toys, carrying them around and chewing on them. She is a heavy chewer which is pretty typical for quite a few bully breeds and she does best with heavy duty toys that last. - Rides well in the car and loads up. No car sickness noted. - No resource guarding or separation anxiety noted while in foster. - Perfect potty habits in foster so far and will ring a bell handing at the door to let her foster family she needs to go out to go potty. Gemma is a happy girl who is so appreciative of being rescued off the streets of Fresno, California where is is hot and harsh. She loves to snuggle on the couch with her people and soaks up the softness of her dog beds. Gemma is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm tested negative and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee includes a free wellness exam at one of our four partner veterinary clinics in Oregon City, Milwaukie, Tualatin or Portland. $150 adoption fee Fostered in Oregon City, Oregon COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION FOR GEMMA ON OUR WEBSITE: WWW.AGAVEDOGS.ORG

Story
Koko is a sweet, loving cuddle pup. She is kind, smart & wants to please. She came to us at 1 year old with trauma in her past, which has made her timid and need a slow warm up with men.She loves kids. She loves my male dogs, but would do best without other dogs in the home.Unfortunately, my older female chihuahua (always the chihuahuas!) does not like her. She has continued to pick fights and ultimately has created an unsafe environment since Koko's not putting up with the antagonizing anymore. She successfully completed Sit-Means-Sit training this year and has a fantastic foundation. She is kennel trained. While her past and unfortunate run ins with the chihuahua have probably not made her a great candidate for the dog park, she would do well in public with an attentive owner and other dogs respect her space and are introduced slowly. She will come with toys, 1 month of food, collar and leash, and a free vet check (adaptor can choose the vet or use mine).

Story
Chapo is my family’s dog and we have been fostering him for a month after they moved into a new place that unfortunately doesn’t allow for pets. He is a fun energetic dog who is house trained and crate trained. I have known him since a puppy and he’s sweet and good with children and other dogs. Due to my work schedule he doesn’t get the attention he deserves and I feel terrible leaving him in a crate I know he could live a much better life with a family with more time to dedicate to him and a much larger yard.

Sweetpea is wonderful with other dogs and gentle with kids, but once she’s home, she transforms into a professional couch potato and happily naps for hours. She is very food motivated (treats = instant best friend), eager to learn, and incredibly adaptable. As long as she has a cozy place to nap, people to love, and plenty of snacks, Sweetpea is happy. Story
Meet GRANGER GRANGER is a 4-year-old mixed breed with a huge heart, a sharp mind, and a real zest for life. He’s truly a dog trainer’s dream — every trainer who meets him adores him. He’s incredibly smart and could excel at advanced training, obstacle work, or even specialized tasks like rat hunting. GRANGER is wonderful on walks, learns quickly, and makes training sessions easy and genuinely fun. He’s eager to please, highly engaged, and doesn’t show any food aggression, which makes daily routines and mealtimes a breeze. Playtime is one of his favorite things! Whether it’s fetch or tug-of-war, GRANGER could happily play all day if you let him. He’s joyful, goofy, and full of personality. At home, GRANGER is deeply devoted to his people. He bonds closely with his family and takes his role as a protector seriously. He’s not excessively barky, but he will guard the front door like a champ. Because of this protective nature, GRANGER needs a calm, adult-only home with no children and minimal visitors, as frequent comings and goings can be stressful for him. GRANGER’s ideal home is one with experienced, dog-savvy adults who appreciate a loyal companion, enjoy training and enrichment, and want a dog who will be their true best friend.
