He is a great companion for an active family with a secure fence, children over 6 years of age and another dog. Large breed experience is recommended. He is an indoor dog. He will like walks, car rides, toys and dog beds. He will require daily walks and dog training once he has all his shots. No apartments! We save homeless and abandoned dogs and find them loving forever homes in other areas, where pet homelessness is not epidemic. All of our pets are located here, in San Antonio, and we partner with rescues to provide transportation for our pets to their new homes. Our adoption fee includes vet care (vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchipping, etc), as well as transportation and health certificate. Bella has high energy and enjoys to stay active by going to the park or playing with other dogs. She would benefit by being in a home with another high energy dog or someone willing to give her plenty of love. she does well with other animals. She loves to give kisses, and loves attention. She knows a few commands and needs to be walked in a leash still but is a fast learner. She would benefit being with someone who is willing to put in time to train her. She loves kids and meeting new people and has such a good personality. She will come with toys, leash and collar and bed, and any remaining dog food with the bowls. She is also potty trained and loves apples.

Story
MEET BILLY THE BOXER MIX! If you're looking for a quirky, energetic dog, a ball of energy ready to rumble and roll, Billy is it! He is a fun-loving 1-1/2-year-old Boxer-Shepherd mix who is ready to rock your world. He's just a puppy and could use some leash training, but he's got a lot of good things going for him. First of all, he's unique and funny - he's got big floppy ears, and one is usually up and the other down. Secondly, he's good with other dogs. He was basically raised in an animal shelter so got used to having other pups around. He absolutely needs an active person or people and a yard would be a plus so he could run around, and then take a snooze. It's not mandatory, though, as long as you are active. He is stocky and built like a tank, and weighs about 65 lbs. Can you foster or adopt Billy? Billy is currently in California still, but can be transported to you in Oregon.

Story
HI - I'M RILEY, and I'm looking for a special adopter! ! I'm a 3-year-old Boxer-Shepherd mix in need of a foster or forever home. I was rescued from a California shelter where I was pretty terrified - I sat in the back and looked at people as they walked by. Now, whenever I go someplace new, I'm scared all over again, until I really bond with my person. I have done fine with other dogs so far, but I need someone who can take me in and work with me to help me become confident and secure. I weigh about 50-55 lbs. I'm currently in California, but can be transported to Oregon. Please email for an application.

Story
HI - I'M MARLIE! I'm a 10-month-old sweet and submissive Boxer girl in need of a foster or forever home. I was impounded at a California shelter after I was found as a stray in an alley. I rolled over on my back then to get belly rubs. I have been fine around other dogs and I'm basically a growing puppy with lots of love to give. I can be shy at first. Can you foster or adopt me? I'm not yet spayed because I'm still a bit young, but I will be spayed when the vet says I'm ready. I'm currently in California, but can be transported to you in Oregon! Please email for an application.

Meet Dixie! This sweet girl is the ultimate cuddle bug—she hasn’t read the book on personal space (and never plans to). Whether you’re sitting, napping, or just trying to drink your coffee, Dixie believes every moment is a snuggle moment. She is still learning how to be the best dog she can be and will need a loving family who can teach her with patience and treats! Dixie has energy to spare and will do best in a home with children over 12 years of age. If you’re looking for a weighted blanket with legs, that has a heart as big as her smile, Dixie is your girl!If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
Gronk is sponsored by Danny Flensborg.Hi, I’m Gronk. 🐾I’m a strong, handsome pit bull terrier mix with a loyal heart and a sensitive soul. While I may look confident and sturdy on the outside, I’m actually a thoughtful, easily overstimulated guy who does best in a calm, predictable environment.Shelter life has been overwhelming for me. The noise and constant activity can be stressful, and when I feel overstimulated, I can become anxious. In a quiet home where I feel safe, my true personality shines — affectionate, devoted, and deeply bonded to my people.Because of my sensitive nature, I need an experienced dog owner who understands canine body language and can advocate for me. Quick movements over my head or being abruptly woken from sleep can startle me, so I do best with slow, gentle handling and respectful interactions. Giving me space when I’m resting and approaching me calmly helps me feel secure. For everyone’s safety and comfort, I need:• An adult-only home• No cats• A calm household with predictable routines• A securely fenced yard (I can be an escape artist if I get anxious)In the right environment, I am incredibly loyal and loving. I form strong bonds with my people and enjoy being close once I feel safe. I’m looking for someone patient, experienced, and committed to helping me continue building confidence at my pace.If you’re an experienced dog owner who believes that trust is earned gently and love is built through consistency, I may be the perfect companion for you.Love,Gronk 💙🐾If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment. Story
Ghost is sponsored by River & Ben.Hi, I’m Ghost!I’m a pit bull–Dalmatian mix, which basically means I’m a marshmallow with feelings. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but when I learn trust you, my fun and excitable personality comes out. Personal space will become a thing of the past once I know your safe! I like to use my voice when stressed and would do best as the only dog in a home or with a calm dog (I tend to mirror the feelings of those around me).The shelter can feel a little overwhelming for me (all that barking and energy amps me up), but once I'm out of the chaos, my snuggly, loving nature shines. Apartment life isn’t really my style—I’d love a home with a fenced backyard where I can feel safe, happy and get my energy out with zoomies. With a little patience, I’ll be a loyal and loving companion.Love, Ghost 👻🐾If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.Due to COVID-19, we are currently only open by appointment.
