Story

Hope is being fostered in LA. Hope is a sweet and happy girl. She does have some vision loss. Hope had her annual last week and she did good. We went to a new vet in our new town and she was a big hit there. Hope is always very friendly to everyone she meets. Hope loves to ride and does pretty good on a leash with a halter on. Hope can still be picky about other female dogs so we are very careful when introducing her to new ones. Hope could be someone's couch potato or someone adventure buddy. Hope is very strong and muscular. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

MEET DEW! Dew is the sweetest senior “velcro dog” looking for his forever person. He came to rescue after his owner of 10+ years faced homelessness and made the heartbreaking decision to surrender him so he could have a better life. Now Dew is an eligible bachelor ready for love! In addition to his "unique" looks including short little legs and a beefy head, Dew also has an award-winning personality. He is fully housebroken, calm, and spends most of his day snoozing (with a stream of snores and farts – it's very charming, we swear). He loves resting his big head on your lap and is a goofy, uncoordinated goofy boy who keeps his foster family laughing. He instantly befriends new people and adores any affection he can get. Dew is great at loose-leash walking, which he likes pretty slow and short! He definitely isn't a cardio fan and prefers to be a couch pittie potato. While Dew is in a home with another dog, he has his own space and is looking for a home without other dogs as he gets stressed when they are around. He is fine to walk by them on the street with soft barks, but wants to be your one and only in the home. One consideration is that Dew does not like being crated or contained in rooms by himself and will actively work to escape. We’ve found that he isn’t destructive when being left to roam though we do expect a transition period in his new home where he will require patience and understanding while adjusting to a new home and family. Dew’s ideal home would be a calm one with someone who maybe works from home or who can even bring Dew to work with them. He prefers to not be left alone for extended periods of time and will become anxious when he is. If you’re looking for a chill, quiet dog to keep you company while you’re on zoom all day (just like his foster mom), Dew could be the guy for you! Dew has received a complete medical catchup and had a couple mast cell tumors removed. To prevent further mast cells from forming, it is recommended he remain on OTC Benedryl. Dew has a cataract in his right eye but has no vision troubles. He is currently on daily anxiety medication to help with his recent transitions which he takes very easily. MEET BATMAN! IN A WORLD where snuggles are scarce and couches remain unprotected.. one hero rises. Meet Batman! At around 8 years old, Batman joined us from Philly’s animal control shelter where he had been surrendered due to his former family relocating. Now this Caped Crusader of Cuddles is ready for his next adventure with his future family. Batman is a 60 lb. lapdog who loves to flop in your lap any chance he can get. He’s always down for a nice, solid couch nap. But we’d classify him more as a medium-energy dog who still has a lot of zest for life. He loves to play, run around the yard, go on hikes/walks around the neighborhood with his foster family. We think he’d love an active family where he can go on outdoor adventures and romps in the yard (along with lots of naps). He loves to meet new people and will happily greet new friends with kisses and tail wags, even they've just left the room for a couple minutes. Batman isn’t currently living with other pets in his foster home but did well in his dog-interactions at the shelter. With proper introductions, we think he’d do well in a home with other low-key dogs. Batman, like many pitties, has some itchy skin which responds well to benedryl and a quality diet. He’s gotten caught up on vet care in these past couple months and has proven to be a healthy dude! He’s ready to swoop in and be the hero in your life!
