Meet Rocky! Rocky is a 1.5-year-old, 73-pound mixed breed full of love, loyalty, and fun. He is a fan favorite at our rescue, and such a gem. He’s the ultimate lovable goofball—playful, cuddly, sweet, and just a little bit shy, especially around new men (but don’t worry, he’ll warm up with a little time and patience). One he knows you are someone he can trust, he is as loyal as they come. Rocky is great with cats, kids, and other dogs. He loves to play, but is also super gentle and respectful of other dogs. He currently lives in a foster home with a senior dog and other small dogs and does great, and has done amazing with puppies and other large dogs too. He is totally a gentle giant through and through. He’s crate trained, house trained, and so extremely well behaved, but does occasionally need reminder of what items are toys he can chew and what shouldn't be chewed. He may need a little help managing his anxiety at first. In his very short life, he has been bounced around between homes due to no fault of his own, which has caused him to be just a little anxious/wary in new scenarios. He has been in a couple of different foster homes and has taken a few days to adjust each time, but, once he settles in, he is a truly an amazing and loyal companion. (Remember, our adoption process includes a one week home trial before adoption!) Rocky is a gentle soul who just wants to feel safe and loved. He’s already a great protector of the home and is sure to be your loyal companion. Rocky would thrive in a home with space to run and play, and humans who understand that big love sometimes comes in an even bigger package. Meet Sophie, a sweet and lovable 6 year old boxer mix who has come a long way from her rough start on the streets of South Texas. Abandoned at a gas station, emaciated and struggling to survive, Sophie was given a second chance at life when she was rescued and transported to DFW. After spending almost 2 years in foster care, Sophie has blossomed into a healthy and happy dog. She's a bit of a couch potato, spending most of her day lounging in her bed, but she loves to spring into action when it's time to eat! Sophie gets the zoomies once or twice a day and enjoys running around in the yard. She's a bit of a homebody and prefers to be indoors, doing her business and then heading back to the door. Sophie is looking for a forever home where she can be the only pet. She's not a fan of other dogs or cats, but she loves people and adores attention. She does well with older children 13+. She's potty trained, house trained, and knows how to sit on command. Sophie does well on a leash. Sophie is spayed, fully vaccinated and current on prevention. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Sophie might be the perfect fit for you. We're hoping to find a family who will keep in touch and send updates on this sweet girl's new life.
