Story
Hi! I'm Faith and I want to ask if you are the happy ending to my sad story? You see, I was adopted from H4P a few years ago as a happy, healthy, playful girl. But recently, a very crowded shelter contacted H4P because I had been surrendered. Of course H4P acted quickly to get me out of the shelter. Fosters were very sad that I returned to them obese, having gained over 20 pounds. I was heartworm positive, had a skin issue and a thyroid issue, all of which had gone untreated. Fast forward to now! I am undergoing treatment for heartworms and getting my medical issues taken care of. I will probably be on Levothyroxine permanently as it keeps my thyroid levels where they should be, and luckily that medication is not expensive. I've lost about 12 pounds which gets me closer to my 48 pound goal. Now for the good things about me that I think you will like: My foster family says I am super sweet, and I crave your affection. I am house trained and crate trained. I sleep quietly through the night in my crate. In the mornings when I wake up, I watch my foster mom for the signs that we are going for a walk! That is the highlight of my day and I walk well on the leash. I'm a great office assistant if you work from home, laying by your desk quietly while you work. I will be great as an only dog, or can be fine with another dog - but a nice one that isn't too crazy when they play. I get nervous if a dog is just too much for me. I love toys and chew bones, too. I have gotten along with the dogs in my foster home and fell into the routine here quite easily. I am so glad to have another chance to find my perfect home. H4P will make sure that I get the right people who will love me and take great care of me. In return, I can promise lots of love in return.

Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. COURTESY POST***CONTACT OWNER brandy.douglas@gmail.com ** Pepper is the perfect blend of energy and chill. She's a bit shy but an avid fetch- player, the best helper at all things, and a great companion! She’s smart, house broken and knows some commands. She can definitely be taught. My best guess is she’s about 5 years old. Completely healthy. All vaccinations are up to date and she takes medicine to prevent fleas and ticks. She is current on all of her vaccines, heart worm, flea and tick medication and microchipped. No behavioral issues. She’s always been rather skiddish since I got her. She’s never grown out of that. I’ve never seen her be aggressive toward any other dogs, and I’ve never had any cats around. Only rehoming because I'm moving and can't take her with me.

Story
Tater has been doing very well in his foster home since being returned to our care after four years. Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve gotten to know him again, and one thing is clear—he is an incredibly sweet and loving dog. Tater is well-behaved, quiet, and laid-back. He was returned because he began guarding his adopters from the other dog in the home, whom he had lived with since puppyhood. We offered to send a trainer, but after learning they had moved to Ohio, it became clear that long-distance support wouldn’t be an option. Given how long this behavior has gone unaddressed, we believe Tater would do best as an only dog. That said, Tater enjoys going on walks, does well on a leash, and is not reactive to other dogs. He loves people, including children, and is both house trained and crate trained. Tater is a 4 1/2 year old English Bulldog/Pit Bull mix. If you’re interested in meeting or adopting him, apply at www.rescuerowinc.org. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 2-4 business days.*You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck*Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row):Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption feeDogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption feeRescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs. ##949210##
