Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Duncan Doggie, He is almost 6 years old, 67 pound Pit Bull (possibly a mix, there is no way to really know for sure in rescue) that has a lot of love to give but will need some special care in his furever home. Duncan has a lot of love to give and is overall a very happy and healthy boy but it took a lot of time, love and some medical care to get him there.  Duncan Doggie was found dumped on the grounds of Avenal State Prison in California June of 2023 and no one really knows how he got there. He was covered in wounds that were either from other dogs or coyotes, missing a majority of his fur, skin rubbed raw, and a lot of his teeth were broken. A volunteer at the Avenal shelter posted a TikTok in hopes that a rescue would pull him and give him the medical attention he needed and the love he deserved, that is where I found him. I instantly fell in love with him and drove the 1800 mile round trip to pick him up and bring him back to Northern Utah.    He is the biggest love bug and will gladly accept scratches and cuddles from any humans big or small! He loves to run around in the yard, play tug of war, play fetch, and if you are lucky he will even bring the ball back to you! True to his breed he also loves being lazy, he has his favorite purple minky that he stole from me and will go with him to his forever home for him to cuddle to his heart's content. He currently lives with children aged 3-14 and he is wonderful with all of them, sometimes he will get the wiggle butts and his tail could make him considered armed and dangerous, other than that though he is a complete sweetheart. Unfortunately due to his past he is fear reactive to any adult dogs and an addendum will be included in his adoption contract. He has loved every single puppy I've fostered in the last 8 months like it was his own but any adult dogs at home or in public terrify him and make him get full body shakes and then turn to aggression if he can't be removed from the other dog immediately.    Since having Duncan here he has made huge strides in his health and he has been the happiest, most loving foster from the second I picked him up. We discovered that his fur was missing and skin was raw due to food allergies, he needs to be on a grain and poultry free diet to prevent that from happening again in the future, he is currently eating a salmon based food and thriving on it. In addition to his allergies he was in need of a complete dental and is down 14 teeth but that doesn't stop him from eating dry food and enjoying treats like any other dog. He is resilient and has not let a single negative thing slow him down, he is truly a special dog.   If you are interested in giving this handsome man a safe and happy home where he can be an only dog you can apply to meet him at  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 2, 2025, 4:23 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, my name is Metric! I am likely a Pitt/Heeler mix weighing just about 50 pounds and am just barely 1 year old!  I can be shy at first but when I warm up- which won’t take long- all I will want to do is snuggle up close to you!   I have big playful puppy energy and I love to exercise to get some excitement out, but at the end of the day all I want to do is snuggle with my people and my dog siblings! I am crate trained, potty trained, and am really working hard on my leash manners! My favorite game is tug, I love to chew on bones and I love to chase around my older sibling while we play with squeaky toys! I know how to sit, stay, and wait for my food like a good girl before I am released to eat it! I am very food motivated and also one of my favorite treats is an ice cube    I would do best in a home with a dog who is my size or bigger, and one who is older than me to help teach me confidence and solidify my good girl manners  I would also do well as an only dog but I sure love to snuggle with my foster dog siblings right now! I would do best with kids over 10-12 since I am just a big playful puppy! I am great with other dogs when properly introduced.    I get really excited when my foster parents first get home, or when friends come over to visit but I calm down quickly and all of the new friends I’ve met can’t stop talking about what a sweet, lovable girl I am! I really can’t wait to find my perfect family to love and snuggle with   Apply to bring me home here   https://rescuerovers.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4087  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 10, 2025, 4:17 pm

Story
Meet Blanca Breed: Pit Bull Mix Date of Birth: July 11, 2021 &#226&#154&#150&#239&#184&#143 Weight: 80 pounds Spayed & Healthy Intake Date: June 6, 2023 Blanca is a big, beautiful girl with a loving heart and a happy, eager spirit. She enjoys attention and affection from her people and has so much potential to thrive in the right home. This smart girl is currently in training through the Paws to Prison Program at Corcoran Prison, where she’s learning from dedicated inmate handlers. She’s working on important skills like sit, stay, and leash walking, helping her grow into a more confident and obedient companion. The structure and care of this program are helping Blanca build trust and become her best self. Notes from the trainer: Blanca is a gentle, 4-year-old American Pit Terrier/Dogo Argentino mix weighing about 85–90 pounds. Despite common misconceptions about her breed, she’s calm, motherly, and easy to love. Blanca is bilingual, responding to commands in both Spanish and English, and knows a variety of tricks and manners such as sitting, lying down, rolling over, staying, and waiting patiently for food. She’s house-trained, non-aggressive, and takes treats gently. Blanca is great with other dogs, enjoys tug-of-war, basketball, belly rubs, cuddling, and even baths. She’s ticklish on her chest and back legs, rarely barks, and communicates when she needs to go outside. While she dislikes loud noises and will chase lawnmowers, she loves golf cart rides. She’s curious about cats in a playful way. Due to past mistreatment, she may cower if hands move quickly near her face, but she remains affectionate and trusting. Overall, Blanca is a loving, well-mannered companion who craves attention, enjoys naps, and is looking for a safe, caring forever home. Special Considerations  Blanca may do best as the only dog in a home without young children. She’s selective with other animals and needs a calm, experienced owner who understands dog behavior and can continue her training with patience and consistency. Breed Information  Pit Bull mixes like Blanca are known for their loyalty, intelligence, and strong bonds with their humans. With proper guidance and a stable environment, they become deeply devoted, affectionate companions. They require exercise, socialization, and mental stimulation to stay balanced and happy. Owner Responsibilities &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Adopting Blanca means committing to: Daily exercise, structured routines, and continued positive reinforcement Regular veterinary care, quality food, and preventive health measures A calm, stable home where she feels safe and loved Advocating for her breed and being a responsible pet owner Things to Consider Before adopting Blanca, please ask yourself: Do you have experience with strong, intelligent breeds? Can you provide time, patience, and consistent leadership? Does your home (and landlord, if applicable) allow large dogs? Is your lifestyle suited to a one-dog household? A Commitment for Life Blanca is not an outdoor or chained dog—she's a family member who deserves to live indoors with love, safety, and respect. Adopting her means a lifetime commitment. She’s ready for a second chance with someone who believes in her and is ready to offer the structure and affection she needs. If you're experienced, understanding, and ready to offer Blanca the forever home she deserves, she’s ready to return that love tenfold. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Story
Henry is an adult male Pit Bull, born on May 3, 2021, and weighing 40 pounds. With a big heart and a love for adventure, Henry is sure to capture the affection of those who take the time to understand his unique personality. Despite his strong and confident exterior, Henry requires patience and experience to fully appreciate his loving nature. Henry's journey to becoming a friendly and well-behaved companion hasn't been without its challenges. Due to a lack of socialization during his formative years, Henry sometimes struggles with social cues, which can lead to misunderstandings in social settings. Fortunately, with dedicated training and care, Henry has made significant progress and thrives under the guidance of an experienced owner. What to Expect When Adopting a Dog Like Henry Slow and Steady Introductions: Henry is a "three-date dog," meaning he takes a bit of time to warm up to new people. Multiple meet-and-greet sessions will help him feel more comfortable and secure. Patience and understanding are key to gaining his trust. Continued Training and Guidance: While Henry excels in obedience commands such as sit, down, place, and boundary control, he needs ongoing training to reinforce his social skills. A pinch collar is recommended once trust is established, helping him maintain focus and control during walks. Adventure-Loving Spirit: Henry loves adventure and is a great companion for pack walks, though he may initially feel uneasy. His ability to walk calmly past other dogs without reacting is a testament to his progress and potential. Understanding Boundaries: Henry is not allowed on furniture to prevent dominance issues. Instead, he enjoys using his designated place as his own cozy sofa. This routine helps reinforce boundaries and ensure a harmonious living environment. Gentle Handling: Henry is sensitive about being grabbed by his collar. Using treats to lure him is a more effective approach, as it prevents him from shutting down and maintains a positive attitude. Breed-Experienced Owner: Henry requires an owner with experience in handling Pit Bulls or similar breeds. Understanding his needs and providing a structured environment will help him continue to thrive and grow into a well-rounded companion. By welcoming Henry into your home, you're inviting a loyal and adventurous spirit into your life. His journey of growth and the bond you'll build together will be rewarding and fulfilling. If you're ready to offer Henry the understanding and guidance he needs, he might just be the perfect match for your family!
