Story
Very high energy, needs someone to play, walk her, she can jump really high. She can open certain types of doorknobs. She is in a home with a small toddler and a pit who is very old and ill, and she isn’t able to play or have what she needs and deserves. She is good with the baby but is getting sat on, hit with toys, smacked etc., and just not a good situation at this point. The older dog is almost ready first rainbow bridge and she will have no one to try to play with, etc. I am also wanting to move and that is also an issue as I’m downsizing to a home with no yard. The main issue is my toddler and that I cannot provide time for her as I’m a single mom, and have a f/t job as a nurse plus starting school. My plate is full. I need to find a good home for her where she can be happy and fulfilled, here she is not.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Duncan Doggie, He is almost 6 years old, 67 pound Pit Bull (possibly a mix, there is no way to really know for sure in rescue) that has a lot of love to give but will need some special care in his furever home. Duncan has a lot of love to give and is overall a very happy and healthy boy but it took a lot of time, love and some medical care to get him there.  Duncan Doggie was found dumped on the grounds of Avenal State Prison in California June of 2023 and no one really knows how he got there. He was covered in wounds that were either from other dogs or coyotes, missing a majority of his fur, skin rubbed raw, and a lot of his teeth were broken. A volunteer at the Avenal shelter posted a TikTok in hopes that a rescue would pull him and give him the medical attention he needed and the love he deserved, that is where I found him. I instantly fell in love with him and drove the 1800 mile round trip to pick him up and bring him back to Northern Utah.    He is the biggest love bug and will gladly accept scratches and cuddles from any humans big or small! He loves to run around in the yard, play tug of war, play fetch, and if you are lucky he will even bring the ball back to you! True to his breed he also loves being lazy, he has his favorite purple minky that he stole from me and will go with him to his forever home for him to cuddle to his heart's content. He currently lives with children aged 3-14 and he is wonderful with all of them, sometimes he will get the wiggle butts and his tail could make him considered armed and dangerous, other than that though he is a complete sweetheart. Unfortunately due to his past he is fear reactive to any adult dogs and an addendum will be included in his adoption contract. He has loved every single puppy I've fostered in the last 8 months like it was his own but any adult dogs at home or in public terrify him and make him get full body shakes and then turn to aggression if he can't be removed from the other dog immediately.    Since having Duncan here he has made huge strides in his health and he has been the happiest, most loving foster from the second I picked him up. We discovered that his fur was missing and skin was raw due to food allergies, he needs to be on a grain and poultry free diet to prevent that from happening again in the future, he is currently eating a salmon based food and thriving on it. In addition to his allergies he was in need of a complete dental and is down 14 teeth but that doesn't stop him from eating dry food and enjoying treats like any other dog. He is resilient and has not let a single negative thing slow him down, he is truly a special dog.   If you are interested in giving this handsome man a safe and happy home where he can be an only dog you can apply to meet him at  https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 2, 2025, 4:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Feeny! Feeny is a 4-year-old, neutered pit bull/German shepherd mix with a big presence, a sharp mind, and a deeply loyal heart. At around 100 pounds, he’s a strong, athletic dog who thrives with structure, training, and a confident handler. Feeny is fully house trained and crate trained, and he actually enjoys his crate as a calm, safe space. He knows and reliably responds to a solid set of commands including sit, come, heel, place, off, and “under” (laying on his belly under your legs when you're sitting down). He’s smart, highly trainable, and genuinely enjoys working with his person. Puzzle toys, learning new skills, and having a clear routine bring out the very best in him. With people, Feeny is affectionate and endearing. He can look imposing at first glance, but he quickly reveals his softer side—goofy expressions, full-body leans, and a strong preference for cuddling on the couch or at bedtime. Once bonded, he is deeply devoted and wants nothing more than to be close to his person.   Important to know: Feeny cannot live with other animals or with young children. Despite extensive training and careful management, he has shown that he needs to be the only pet in the home. For his safety and the safety of others, he requires a home with no other dogs, cats, or small animals, and no young kids. Because of his size and strength, Feeny needs an experienced dog owner—someone who is calm, confident, and comfortable handling a powerful dog and providing consistent structure. In the right environment, he settles beautifully and becomes a steady, loving companion.   Feeny is healthy, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and currently covered by an active pet insurance policy. If you are an experienced dog owner looking for a loyal, intelligent, affectionate companion—and you have a single-pet household with no young children—Feeny could be an incredible match. Please reach out to learn more, ask questions, and see if this might be the right fit for both of you. apply today @ https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 5, 2026, 9:39 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, my name is Metric! I am likely a Pitt/Heeler mix weighing just about 50 pounds and am just barely 1 year old!  I can be shy at first but when I warm up- which won’t take long- all I will want to do is snuggle up close to you!   I have big playful puppy energy and I love to exercise to get some excitement out, but at the end of the day all I want to do is snuggle with my people and my dog siblings! I am crate trained, potty trained, and am really working hard on my leash manners! My favorite game is tug, I love to chew on bones and I love to chase around my older sibling while we play with squeaky toys! I know how to sit, stay, and wait for my food like a good girl before I am released to eat it! I am very food motivated and also one of my favorite treats is an ice cube    I would do best in a home with a dog who is my size or bigger, and one who is older than me to help teach me confidence and solidify my good girl manners  I would also do well as an only dog but I sure love to snuggle with my foster dog siblings right now! I would do best with kids over 10-12 since I am just a big playful puppy! I am great with other dogs when properly introduced.    I get really excited when my foster parents first get home, or when friends come over to visit but I calm down quickly and all of the new friends I’ve met can’t stop talking about what a sweet, lovable girl I am! I really can’t wait to find my perfect family to love and snuggle with   Apply to bring me home here   https://rescuerovers.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4087  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 10, 2025, 4:17 pm

Story
Meet Sabrina! Sabrina is a 4 year old Pit Mix with a big personality and a lot of feeling. She is an expressive, talkative girl who isn't shy about sharing her opinions and keeping life interesting with her vocal charm. Sabrina does well with kids, but is still learning the ropes of home life and would love a family who is excited to help her practice routines, gain confidence, and learn useful skills. She can get a little extra attached to her people and prefers to not be alone for long stretches since she has a history of seperation anxiety. She loves companionship and thrives on connection. When excitement builds, Sabrina can be enthusiastic on leash and full of animated energy. She is still figuring out how to channel all that love and energy into positive ways, so enrichment, playtime, and training will be key to helping her shine. Sabrina hasn't had much experience with other dogs yet and would benefit from guidance and she continues to learning about the world. At her heart, Sabrina is a devoted, spirited girl who just wants to be someone's everything. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will keep you laughing, talking and feeling loved, Sabrina might be a perfect match for you.
