Story
Henry is an adult male Pit Bull, born on May 3, 2021, and weighing 40 pounds. With a big heart and a love for adventure, Henry is sure to capture the affection of those who take the time to understand his unique personality. Despite his strong and confident exterior, Henry requires patience and experience to fully appreciate his loving nature. Henry's journey to becoming a friendly and well-behaved companion hasn't been without its challenges. Due to a lack of socialization during his formative years, Henry sometimes struggles with social cues, which can lead to misunderstandings in social settings. Fortunately, with dedicated training and care, Henry has made significant progress and thrives under the guidance of an experienced owner. What to Expect When Adopting a Dog Like Henry Slow and Steady Introductions: Henry is a "three-date dog," meaning he takes a bit of time to warm up to new people. Multiple meet-and-greet sessions will help him feel more comfortable and secure. Patience and understanding are key to gaining his trust. Continued Training and Guidance: While Henry excels in obedience commands such as sit, down, place, and boundary control, he needs ongoing training to reinforce his social skills. A pinch collar is recommended once trust is established, helping him maintain focus and control during walks. Adventure-Loving Spirit: Henry loves adventure and is a great companion for pack walks, though he may initially feel uneasy. His ability to walk calmly past other dogs without reacting is a testament to his progress and potential. Understanding Boundaries: Henry is not allowed on furniture to prevent dominance issues. Instead, he enjoys using his designated place as his own cozy sofa. This routine helps reinforce boundaries and ensure a harmonious living environment. Gentle Handling: Henry is sensitive about being grabbed by his collar. Using treats to lure him is a more effective approach, as it prevents him from shutting down and maintains a positive attitude. Breed-Experienced Owner: Henry requires an owner with experience in handling Pit Bulls or similar breeds. Understanding his needs and providing a structured environment will help him continue to thrive and grow into a well-rounded companion. By welcoming Henry into your home, you're inviting a loyal and adventurous spirit into your life. His journey of growth and the bond you'll build together will be rewarding and fulfilling. Story
Meet Dominique — A Joyful, Loving Girl Who’s Always Ready for Fun Dominique (affectionately called Dom) is a bright, affectionate, and endlessly playful girl who’s spent the last six months in the Paws to Prison training program. From the very beginning, Dom’s cheerful spirit has stood out — she’s known as the “love factory” of the group because she’s always ready to share her joy and affection with everyone she meets. Dom is an outgoing, social dog who loves people and thrives on human interaction. She’d be happiest in a home with an active lifestyle — whether it’s playing fetch in the yard, going on family adventures, or joining in on outdoor fun. She adores kids and would be a fantastic family dog for those who enjoy keeping her engaged and active. Highly intelligent and quick to learn, Dom has mastered her obedience training and even picked up a few fun tricks and agility skills. She’s athletic, loves to play catch (and can impressively snag a ball or toy out of the air!), and is now learning to love frisbee too. Her excitement for life can sometimes get ahead of her during training, but with consistent guidance, she quickly focuses and shows just how smart she is. Dom walks well on leash when handled confidently and consistently, and she’s very well-mannered in the house. She settles down beautifully after playtime and enjoys relaxing with her people. With other dogs, Dom is friendly and playful, enjoying time with her canine companions. On occasion, she’ll calmly set boundaries if another dog gets too pushy — she knows how to keep things balanced. While she enjoys dog friends, she truly lights up when she’s spending time with people — she’d always choose a game of fetch or a cuddle session over just about anything else. As for cats, Dom finds them a bit too tempting to chase, so a cat-free home would be best for her. Dominique has grown tremendously in the Paws to Prison program, learning structure, obedience, and social skills to match her big heart. She’s ready to bring endless love, laughter, and energy to a forever family who will cherish her enthusiasm and affection. ❤️ Owner Responsibilities & Things to Consider for Dominique Dominique is a high-energy, affectionate, and smart dog who thrives in an active home. She will need a family or adopter who can provide: Daily exercise and mental stimulation: Long walks, playtime, fetch, agility, or training sessions to channel her energy. Consistent training and guidance: Dominique is highly intelligent and learns quickly, but her excitement can get ahead of her during training. A confident, patient handler will help her focus and continue building good habits. Safe and secure space: She is athletic and active, so a fenced yard or safe play area is recommended. Dog-friendly environment: Dominique enjoys playing with other calm or playful dogs, though she prefers human interaction first. She’s not suitable for homes with cats due to her chase instinct. Attention and affection: Dominique thrives on human interaction and wants to be included in family activities. She’s happiest when engaged and loved. 3-3-3 Rule As Dominique adjusts to her new home, expect the following stages: 3 Days: She may be overwhelmed or overly excited and testing boundaries in her new environment. 3 Weeks: She’ll start settling in, learning the routine, and showing more of her true personality. 3 Months: Dominique will feel fully comfortable, confident, and secure — a loyal, joyful companion ready to share her heart with her family. Vet & Health Considerations Schedule a wellness exam with your veterinarian soon after adoption to establish care. Keep up with routine vaccinations, flea/tick prevention, and dental care. Discuss appropriate diet and exercise plans with your vet to keep Dominique healthy and happy. By providing consistency, activity, and lots of love, Dominique will thrive and become a devoted, playful, and affectionate member of your family. ❤️ If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application  Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue.   Meet Cristal Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Sex: Female DOB: August 24, 2023 Weight: 40 Pounds Health: Healthy and doing well Cristal is a beautiful young Pit Bull with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. At just under two years old, she is full of life, curiosity, and playful energy. With her bright personality and affectionate nature, Cristal has a wonderful way of making people smile. She is ready to find a family who will appreciate her playful enthusiasm and loving companionship. Personality Cristal is playful, affectionate, and full of happy energy. She loves interactive activities like playing fetch, exploring on walks, and spending time with her humans. Her sweet and friendly personality makes her a joy to be around, and she enjoys being part of the action. Cristal bonds closely with her people and thrives when she feels included in everyday life. Breed Info Pit Bull Terriers are known for their loyalty, affectionate nature, and strong bond with their families. They are intelligent dogs who respond well to positive reinforcement training and enjoy engaging with their humans. With proper guidance, structure, and exercise, Pit Bulls are incredibly loving companions who are devoted to their families and eager to please. Owner Responsibilities Cristal will benefit from continued training, socialization, and regular exercise. As a young dog, she enjoys activities that keep both her mind and body active. Daily walks, playtime, and positive reinforcement training will help her grow into a confident and well-balanced adult dog. Consistency and patience will help Cristal continue learning and developing her best qualities. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Cristal is dog selective, so she would do best with an experienced owner who understands how to manage introductions with other dogs and provide a structured environment. She does well with cats, which makes her a great fit for homes with feline companions. Before adopting Cristal, it’s important to consider your long-term lifestyle and stability. Are pets allowed where you live now and in the future? If you move, will Cristal move with you? Do you have time each day for exercise, training, and companionship? Adoption means committing to your dog for life. Vet Care Even though Cristal is healthy, adopters should establish care with their own veterinarian soon after adoption. This helps ensure preventative care continues properly and provides a trusted medical partner for her long-term health and well-being. Understanding the 3-3-3 Rule Like most rescue dogs, Cristal will need time to adjust to her new home. The first 3 days she may feel unsure as she decompresses. The first 3 weeks she will begin learning your routine and feeling more comfortable. By 3 months, her confidence will grow and her loving personality will truly shine. Patience and consistency during this transition will help her thrive. Why Cristal? Cristal is a loving, energetic dog who simply wants a family to share her life with. Meet Lucky A Gentle, Loving Boy Who Just Wants Someone to Love Him Back Breed: Pit Bull Terrier Mix Gender: Male | Age: 09/12/2023 | Weight/Size: 77 lbs Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Kids ✔️ | Cats: Unknown Personality: ❤️ Very Loving | Affectionate | Social | Gentle & Noble Medical: ✔️ Neutered | ✔️ Vaccinations Up to Date Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality & Breed Information Lucky is a handsome 3-year-old Pit Bull mix weighing approximately 77 pounds. Despite being a big boy, what Lucky wants most is incredibly simple: love, affection, and a family to call his own. He is described as very loving, gentle, and noble, with a sweet nature and a genuine love for human companionship. Lucky is social with people and gets along well with other dogs. At three years old, Lucky is past the puppy stage but still a young adult with many wonderful years ahead of him. As a Pit Bull mix, Lucky may share many of the qualities these dogs are loved for. Pit Bull-type dogs are often affectionate, people-oriented, playful, loyal, and eager to be involved in family life. Lucky's personality already shows just how much he values being close to people. At approximately 77 pounds, Lucky is a substantial dog, so his future family should be comfortable handling a larger companion and committed to providing regular exercise, structure, enrichment, and continued positive-reinforcement training. Most importantly, Lucky deserves a home where he isn't simply a dog living in the house—he deserves to be part of the family. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Even a loving and social dog like Lucky will need time to understand his new home, routine, and expectations. Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so his adopter should be prepared to continue working on: Leash manners Basic commands Recall Household boundaries Calm greetings Positive socialization Good manners around people and other dogs Because Lucky is a larger, strong dog, consistent leash manners and basic obedience will be especially important. Training should always use positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to understand his new household routine 3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home Give Lucky the time, structure, and security he needs to settle in and build a lasting bond with his new family. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Lucky is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. His future family should continue providing routine veterinary wellness exams, recommended vaccine boosters, flea/tick/heartworm and parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, healthy weight management, regular exercise, grooming, and veterinary treatment whenever needed. A lifelong commitment means being prepared to care for Lucky's physical and emotional needs throughout adulthood and eventually into his senior years. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Lucky, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Ozzie and Friends Rescue is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs in need and helping them find safe, loving forever homes. While based in Southern California, we coordinate safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Adopting Lucky means committing to his health, training, safety, companionship, and happiness for the rest of his life. Lucky doesn't ask for much. He's a loving, noble boy who simply wants affection, companionship, and someone he can belong to. Give him a place beside you, a hand to lean into, and a family to call his own—and Lucky may finally understand just how fitting his name really is. October 7, 2026, 10:25 am

Meet Nina Female DOB: July 22, 2025 Weight: 53 pounds Breed: Pit Bull Mix Spayed (Fixed): Yes Vaccines: Up to Date Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Nina is a happy, playful young dog with a fun-loving personality and a heart full of affection. At 11 months old, she is enjoying the best of both worlds—she still has the playful spirit and enthusiasm of a puppy while beginning to mature into a wonderful companion. Nina loves being around people and enjoys spending her days playing, exploring, and making new friends. She has an upbeat attitude and brings joy wherever she goes. Whether she's chasing a toy, going for a walk, or relaxing with her family after a busy day, Nina approaches life with excitement and a wagging tail. As a Pit Bull Mix, Nina is likely to be intelligent, loyal, and highly people oriented. Pit Bull-type dogs are known for their affectionate personalities and strong bonds with their families. They thrive when included in daily life and often become incredibly devoted companions. Nina would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily exercise and enrichment Continued training and guidance Positive socialization experiences Structure, consistency, and routine Plenty of companionship and interaction A lifelong commitment to her emotional and physical well-being She is still a young dog and will benefit from continued training and opportunities to build confidence as she matures. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or formal training before arriving at rescue. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. The rescue environment itself does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption. Like all rescue dogs, Nina may need time to adjust to a new home and routine. Patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement will help her settle in and build confidence as she learns her new surroundings. Nina will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Exercise and mental stimulation Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, Nina will blossom into a deeply loyal lifelong companion. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Nina will need: Daily walks, exercise, and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Mental stimulation and enrichment A safe, stable, indoor living environment Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, emotional stability, and daily companionship are all essential to helping Nina thrive in her future home.
We can’t wait to connect you with your new fur-ever friend. With the right guidance and care, she will reward her adopter with loyalty, affection, and endless joyful moments. For someone ready to invest time and love into a wonderful young dog, Cristal will become a truly devoted companion.
