If you are interested in adopting King, please contact dogs@lostdogrescue.org Hi! I'm King. I am loving, loyal, and - ok, you made me say it - very handsome. Oh, and did I mention that I am looking for a best friend to adopt me? I like leash walks, especially in calm and quiet spaces where we can spend some quality time together without the crowds. But, I may get distracted by all of the wonderful smells because I really do need to put my nose on everything to explore the wonders of the world. Not only am I curious, I am up for a challenge! I like to run across streams, jump on logs, and hike the trails. I have lots of energy so will be sure to help keep up with your exercise plan. I even like to get in a jog from time to time. And, not to brag, but I am pretty smart. But, for the sake of all those delicious treats, I will pretend that it takes me time to master new tricks and skills. One more thing to tell you. I like to talk when I play. I hope you will come to meet me so we can play together forever, just you and me!

TWINKLE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:   Twinkle        Best Guess for Breed: Boxer mix  Best Guess for Age:  2 years as of December 2025          SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  30 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Twinkle is Looking For:   Her forever home! Twinkle landed in the shelter through no fault of her own and is eager to once again have her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are also on her wish list but you know what? She's in her prime as a young adult dog and knows what's most important in life: Being safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and love and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Does this girl bring a Twinkle to your eye?   What My Foster Says About Me:   This sweet girl is learning the ropes in a home environment and doing great overall. She sleeps well through the night and appears mostly potty trained. She’s very food-motivated and eager to learn, making training a fun and rewarding experience. When her energy is spent, she’s an absolute couch potato who loves to cuddle and relax by your side. She has a playful, energetic side and benefits from structure and downtime, and she settles nicely when given a chance to decompress. With the right balance of activity and rest, she shows just how affectionate and loving she can be. LOUISE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Louise and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (3/22) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!   Name:   Louise          Best Guess for Breed:   Cane Corso and Boxer mix  Best Guess for Age:   3 years as of January 2026        SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:   57 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Louise is Looking For:   Louise is a sweetie with a beautiful tan coat who’s looking for a place to call home. She’s at a wonderful age where she’s settled into herself and ready to enjoy life with her people. Louise would do well with a family who appreciates a loyal companion and is excited to welcome her into their daily routine. She’s ready to turn the page and start her next chapter with a forever family. What My Foster Says About Me:    This beautiful girl is settling nicely into home life and showing what a wonderful companion she can be. Louise enjoys getting out for walks and likes to take the lead, happily setting a steady pace while exploring the neighborhood. She does especially well with a harness and seems to really appreciate the chance to stretch her legs and take in the sights and smells. Louise is good with other dogs and has enjoyed trips to the dog park. She also loves playing fetch with a ball and will even bring it back to you. Because she’s a bigger girl, she brings a strong presence wherever she goes, but she carries herself with a mellow, gentle demeanor that makes her lovely to spend time with. She’s doing great with both potty training and crate training, and she has been very easygoing around the house. In the evenings, Louise is perfectly content relaxing on the sofa after a day of adventures.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. sweeter than the dessert morsel! BON BON NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Bon Bon      Best Guess for Breed:    Boxer and terrier mix   Best Guess for Age:   4 years as of March 2026     SEX:    Female   Approximate Weight:    57 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   South Carolina shelter - needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Special adoption considerations: Bon Bon is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!   Bon Bon is Looking For:   Her forever home! This sweet girl landed in the shelter through no fault of her own. At about four years old, she's past her puppy days - and is in her prime as an adult dog. She's up for adventure - she's eager for sniffy walks and romps and world exploration with her humans! A cushy dog bed, quality kibble, and lots of snuggles round out her wish list. But most of all she wants to know where she belongs, that she's safe and loved. What do you say? Do you have space in your home and your heart for Bon Bon?   What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has spent time in foster care.    Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. If you are interested in Aster Lee please contact dogs@lostdogrescue.org Meet Aster Lee! A girl with a big smile and an even bigger heart. Aster is a sweetheart who has been stealing the hearts of all the people she meets. Her love and excitement for life are contagious. She always brightens up the day of her human friends with her joyful and enthusiastic personality! Aster is extremely loyal and loves being close to her people. She shows her affection by leaning into you and giving you a huge smile. It's nearly impossible not to smile back! She is adventurous and enjoys hiking and going on walks, but equally enjoys cuddling on the couch. She enjoys playing with rope toys and having the zoomies in the yard, but her favorite activity is playing in the water. Whether it's the beach, a creek, or a doggy pool, Aster is the first one to dive right in! Her foster confirms she is fully house trained, is a lovely houseguest, and will even go to the door to let you know she has to go outside. She's a smart girl who knows basic commands, like sit, come, down, place, stay, heel, and she is always eager to learn more! With all these amazing skills, Aster would LOVE a nice, big backyard to practice in. What dog wouldn't? She is an independent dog looking for a great home, a big yard, and loving people. Aster Lee is seeking an experienced and loving family. She is very excited to find the forever family that she can shower with love!
