To learn more about King, please contact dogs@lostdogrescue.org Hi! I'm King. I am loving, loyal, and - ok, you made me say it - very handsome. Oh, and did I mention that I am looking for a best friend to adopt me? I like leash walks, especially in calm and quiet spaces where we can spend some quality time together without the crowds. But, I may get distracted by all of the wonderful smells because I really do need to put my nose on everything to explore the wonders of the world. Not only am I curious, I am up for a challenge! I like to run across streams, jump on logs, and hike the trails. I have lots of energy so will be sure to help keep up with your exercise plan. I even like to get in a jog from time to time. And, not to brag, but I am pretty smart. But, for the sake of all those delicious treats, I will pretend that it takes me time to master new tricks and skills. One more thing to tell you. I like to talk when I play. I hope you will come to meet me so we can play together forever, just you and me!

Please contact Chandler Jaffe (chandler.jaffe@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Brindle beauty looking for her forever home!FLORENCE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Florence         Best Guess for Breed:  Boxer/Lab mix    Best Guess for Age:  1.5 years as of April 2025         SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:  47 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen Florence with cats or kids, but she can be tested!   Currently Living at:  Texas shelter; needs a forever home to escape!   Florence is Looking For:    Her forever family! As a young puppy, she landed in a shelter so far south in Texas, it's only 30 miles from the Mexican border - and the shelter routinely has 1200+ animals in its care. Despite having such an enormous number to care for, shelter staff do an amazing job with all their dogs and Florence is a great, loving dog and wonderful in playgroup with other dogs - she has been so well socialized with other dogs! Unfortunately, there is a massively skewed ratio of available homes to dogs in the area - so her only hope of getting a home is out of state. Her forever home! This sweetie has all that young-dog energy and is eager to get her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and lots of adventures. Making pup pals along the way is on her wish list too, along with getting to go to dog school so she can show how super smart is. But most of all, she just wants to be safe and loved, to know where she belongs - and upon whom to bestow all her adoring gazes, happy tail wags, and loyal companionship.   What My Foster Says About Me: There are also way more dogs in that shelter than there are available fosters in the DC area. This section cannot be completed until she gets up here. If you'd like to foster or adopt her - see below! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. I’m just returning from a Paw-jama Party, and I had so much fun! The family I was with said I was an extremely cuddly, loving, and sweet girl, and boy did I have fun!...Now, for a little about me…. I have so much love to give. I get along really well with other dogs, kids, people. Squirrels I find very interesting, and may be known to chase them. But that’s a conversation for another day. I am a carbohydrates girl and love being rewarded with bread, pastries, pasta, you name it!...I also really love water, and lounging by water. Pools, buckets, getting a bath, you name it, I love water. And my other passion is fetching balls and toys. Just for a few minutes, and then I’ll take pets and cuddling and just being by your side...I am excited to meet you soon and be your faithful furry companion!'  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
To learn more about Willow Grace, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Willow is a sweet, affectionate soul who lives for love and attention. She loves to greet her humans with hugs, kisses, and belly rubs. As her graceful roots indicate, she saunters on leash with minimal pulling, sniffing, and investigating her surroundings. Willow has made doggy friends in the past, however, she would prefer to be the only dog in the home. With all her abundant love, she's all you need! Willow has even gotten along with cats in her foster home! According to her foster, Willow Grace is a perfect low-to-medium energy house guest, as she is also housebroken, doesn't chew on things, and can be left alone uncrated while you go to work (she just wants to nap!). Willow gets very excited when meeting new people, exemplified by going airborne, look out below! Willow Grace knows basic commands like sit, stay, and paw, and is eager to please her humans, making her a perfect candidate for further training. She's also happy to lounge on the couch to snuggle with you and her favorite stuffy. This girl has waited far too long to find her people, yet has never lost her cheerful spirit – don't wait a second longer!
