Story
If you are interested in adopting King, please contact dogs@lostdogrescue.org. All hail King, ruler of the backyard zoomies, champion of fetch, and professional lean-in-for-a-belly-rub expert. This affectionate, sweet boy has perfected the art of “play hard, nap harder.” One minute he’s trotting happily beside you on a walk, the next he’s sprawled dramatically by your desk like he just finished a very important business meeting. King’s dream life? A fenced yard, a basket overflowing with toys, and a favorite human to shadow from room to room like a very devoted (and slightly silly) personal assistant. He’s the kind of dog who will quietly keep you company while you work, supervise your cooking from the kitchen floor, and politely request his daily quota of bear hugs and belly rubs. He truly just wants to be with his favorite human, whether that’s hanging out inside or heading outdoors for walks, sniffing adventures, fetch, and games. Even better? This good boy is currently thriving in a foster home where he’s shown just how naturally he fits into family life. He is house-trained and crate-trained, sleeps soundly through the night, and settles beautifully into a routine like he’s been part of the family forever. Equal parts goofy sidekick and loyal best friend, King is ready to trade foster life for couch naps, sunny walks, squirrel patrol duty, and forever-family status. If your house could use a little more laughter, love, and paw-print energy, King is ready to move in and claim his throne.

He's also great on the leash, which is just the cherry on top of an already very appealing package. Don’t miss out, and adopt Aslan today!

Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young girl ready to play! SPLATTER NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Splatter        Best Guess for Breed:   American bulldog and terrier mix  Best Guess for Age:  1.5 years as of March 2026         SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight:  45 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs!We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Watch this video of Splatter, as she has a blast playing with fellow Lucky Dog foster, Poppy!   Splatter is Looking For:    Her forever home! Ths gorgeously patterned girl has all that awesome young-dog energy and is eager for romps and all the adventures her new humans can dream up. Making pup pals along the way would be great. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed - yes, those too! But you know what she wants most of all? To know where she belongs, to be safe and loved. Splatter has so much to give to her humans - adoring gazes with that grin, love, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see her trotting by your side?  What My Foster Says About Me:   Splatter is a big-headed sweetheart with an even bigger personality to match! Around her foster home, she’s affectionately known as the “little house piglet” thanks to her adorable snorts and huffs that are guaranteed to make you smile. She’s a social butterfly who truly loves everyone she meets—humans and dogs alike. Splatter enjoys playtime with her canine friends and has done wonderfully around children at adoption events, happily soaking up all the attention. While her sturdy build might make her look a bit intimidating at first glance, she’s really just a total cuddle bug at heart. Splatter enjoys getting out for walks, but she’s just as happy to stay behind and relax if it means she can curl up in your lap and hang out for a cozy night in. She’s learning her manners and can get a little mouthy when she’s extra excited, but she’s responsive and eager to learn. She is doing very well with crate training and will often tuck herself in for naps on her own. Her potty training is coming along nicely, and she’s very treat-motivated—already mastering “sit” and ready to learn more! All in all, Splatter is a loving, fun, and snuggly girl who will make a wonderful companion for a lucky family.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Please contact Anna Waldman (anna.waldman@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.beautiful girl looking for loveMS. PEACHES NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Ms. Peaches          Best Guess for Breed:   Pit Bull Mix    Best Guess for Age:   2.5 years as of April 2026          SEX:    Female Approximate Weight:   42 lbs Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!  Currently Living at:   South Carolina Shelter. Ms. Peaches needs a forever home! Special adoption considerations:    Ms. Peaches is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.  We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Ms. Peaches is Looking For:    A forever family! Ms. Peaches would love to go on walks, play with doggie friends, and learn some basic skills like “sit” and “wait.” This smushy girl is ready to become someone’s forever, do you think it could be you? What My Foster Says About Me:    We will update once Ms. Peaches arrives in the DC area! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
