Story
If you are interested in adopting King, please contact dogs@lostdogrescue.org With the help of a compassionate donor, this Pet Pal is one step closer to a forever home! Hi! I'm King. I am loving, loyal, and - ok, you made me say it - very handsome. Oh, and did I mention that I am looking for a best friend to adopt me? I like leash walks, especially in calm and quiet spaces where we can spend some quality time together without the crowds. But, I may get distracted by all of the wonderful smells because I really do need to put my nose on everything to explore the wonders of the world. Not only am I curious, I am up for a challenge! I like to run across streams, jump on logs, and hike the trails. I have lots of energy so will be sure to help keep up with your exercise plan. I even like to get in a jog from time to time. And, not to brag, but I am pretty smart. But, for the sake of all those delicious treats, I will pretend that it takes me time to master new tricks and skills. One more thing to tell you. I like to talk when I play. I hope you will come to meet me so we can play together forever, just you and me!

To learn more about Bufford, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. With the help of a compassionate donor, this Pet Pal is one step closer to a forever home! Meet Bufford, the ultimate butt-wiggling boxer mix! At just 1 year old, Bufford is an all-wiggles, all-love kind of pup who greets the world with a happy tail, soft eyes, and a big goofy grin! This handsome boy is a delightful walking buddy. He’s great on leash—traffic, bikes, and runners are no problem—and loves a good sniff-filled stroll. He may let out a little excited whine when he wants to meet another dog pal, but he redirects quickly with tasty treats, which he takes ever so gently, and walks on like the good boy he is. Bufford is friendly, agreeable, and eager to please. While he doesn’t seem to know many commands yet, his food motivation, mellow energy, and desire to make his people happy position him as a great candidate for training. Affectionate, goofy, people-loving, and always wagging, Bufford is the kind of pup who makes every day brighter. If you’re looking for a happy, loving companion who’s ready for fun and cuddles, Bufford can’t wait to meet you!

We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Twinkle is Looking For:   Her forever home! Twinkle landed in the shelter through no fault of her own and is eager to once again have her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are also on her wish list but you know what? She's in her prime as a young adult dog and knows what's most important in life: Being safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she promises adoring gazes and love and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Does this girl bring a Twinkle to your eye?   What My Foster Says About Me:   This sweet girl is learning the ropes in a home environment and doing great overall. She sleeps well through the night and appears mostly potty trained. She’s very food-motivated and eager to learn, making training a fun and rewarding experience. When her energy is spent, she’s an absolute couch potato who loves to cuddle and relax by your side. She has a playful, energetic side and benefits from structure and downtime, and she settles nicely when given a chance to decompress. With the right balance of activity and rest, she shows just how affectionate and loving she can be. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. To learn more about our upcoming events and to see which event they will be attending, please visit our event page at https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/ (*please note that the specific event pages are typically updated on Fridays with information on which dogs will be attending which events* Vlada is a wonderful, well-rounded older gal — friendly, outgoing, and very social. She truly has never met a stranger and greets everyone with a wiggly body and wagging tail. She gets along well with adults and other dogs, enjoys being part of the action, and then happily settles back into her bed until she’s ready to socialize again. Living out her golden years, Vlada has so much love to give and is searching for a family who will enjoy sharing life’s moments with her. Vlada loves her walks and heads out with an enthusiasm and pace that might surprise you! She waits patiently while her Easy Walk harness is put on and walks beautifully on leash, enjoying all the sniffs, sights, and sounds along the way. She’s housebroken, rarely barks, and rides perfectly in the car — hopping right in and often settling down for a nap while heading off to new adventures. Vlada is treat-motivated and eager to learn, and she’s brushing up on commands like sit, down, stay, and here with ease. At home, Vlada’s favorite rewards are snuggles. She loves cuddling up with her blanket and pillow, surveying the house from a cozy couch perch, and relaxing with her people. She appreciates her nylabone and toys, enjoys listening attentively to music, and uses her excellent nose to investigate her surroundings — so secure cabinets are a must! If you’re looking for a charming, affectionate companion who loves walks, car rides, and cozy time at home, come meet Vlada.
