Have you ever met a person who just exudes joy at all times? Well FREYA is the dog version of that human. She is happiness personified. Being with her, you can’t help but feel her bliss and smile. She herself always has a smile on her face and loves to soak up attention from everyone she meets. Whether she’s outside playing or inside lounging on the couch, she loves to be where the people are. She’s doing wonderful in her current foster home with her two doggy foster brothers, a 95 lb cane corso mix and a 75 lb lab. She loves to cuddle with them as well as play with them in the backyard. She also has a cat foster brother who she gets along great with and even hangs out with him on the bed when he’s in the mood for cuddles. FREYA also loves to go on car rides and just take everything in. She would love to be your sidekick for every adventure that comes your way. She likes to talk to you and let you know what she’s thinking! Her little “ooowoo’s” are absolutely precious! She tends to talk to strangers as well , but it’s just her saying “Hello!”. She is crate trained and is used to being in her crate while her foster parent is gone. She is truly a one of a kind with a heart of gold. This is Thor, he is around 3 years old, and he has 3 legs. I rescued him from the Humane Society about 1.5 years ago with my ex boyfriend. Unfortunately, our situation has changed and I need a new home for this guy. He is a sweetheart with a big head and big heart. Thor is the biggest snuggle bug ever, and loves to go on long walks. He always wants to be cuddled up next to you under the blanket and will be the best companion! Thor was found tied to a tree with a broken leg, he was brought into a kill shelter and that shelter placed him on a euthanasia list. The Humane Society picked him up and performed the surgery to amputate his leg and give him a long life!

Niyha is a 2 year old pit mix who acts more like the lab and cattle dog found in her. She is around 60 pounds and is completely house broken and knows all of her basic commands. Niyha has been through two different training companies and went to swim lessons. She is an excellent walker (we use a harness) and protector of those she loves. Niyha LOVES to be outside and needs the freedom to roam and run. She will be outside in rain, snow, cold or heat. She is very prey driven and would do best in a home with a lot of land (even a farm). There are no behavior issues with her indoors, other than her trying to get outdoors. She is the smartest dog I have ever come across. Niyha is very agile and is able to jump over our 6 ft fence. She also has learned to open the front window and jump through the screen. She is a sweet but free spirit. I will not adopt her to just anyone, I do not want to get rid of my baby girl, but for her safety, I need to rehome her.

Theo was emaciated, scared and spent two months in the shelter where he became a volunteer favorite because of his sweet nature and handsome looks. Rosemary (Rosie) has a heart bigger than her head – an impressive feat for a blocky-headed dog. She leans her whole body into cuddles and will bring her toys right to your hand, wiggling in excitement to play with you. She can also read your energy and knows when to self-entertain if you’re not in the mood to play. She is moderate energy – she loves to run and play, but also tires out quickly, so no need to worry about multiple-hour walks. As long as she can get her energy out, Rosie would likely be fine with kids who are old enough to respect her boundaries and not get knocked over by zoomies. She is fully potty trained, and tolerates her crate but is left free-roaming at her foster home with no issues. Despite being a sweet and loving dog, the world can be a scary place for Rosie – full of sudden movements and unfamiliar places. People are her anchor – from friendly strangers she happily greets at a bar to the full trust she builds with her humans, everything seems a little bit better when she has people to show her she’s safe. The biggest part of keeping Rosie safe is regulating her interactions with other dogs. She has had several negative altercations with dogs in the past, and her continuing fear of dogs manifests itself as reactivity. She is muzzle trained for her own safety, and needs someone who can handle how hard a 50lb dog can pull on walks and help her keep her distance from other dogs who may be out. Because of this fear, Rosie would be easiest as an only pet. However, she has happily lived with another dog in the past, and with lots of time, commitment, and patience, she could potentially be integrated with another dog in the future. The biggest factor would be humans who respect and enforce her boundaries and are committed to setting her up for success. Rosie has not been tested with cats or other smaller animals, but would likely have similar needs – slow integration, trust that her boundaries will be respected, and the ability for both her and the other animal to get space from each other if needed. My favorite activity is going for car rides; I'm an excellent co-pilot and give great directions to the treat store. Since I'm only 4 yrs old, I would love someone who would commit to continuing with my training. I'm an A+ student but since I get very excited around other dogs, I would prefer to be the only dog in the house and have all the lovin's for myself. I know sit, ask to go out for potties, and am working on my leash manners, but I am still fresh out of the shelter, so this is all new to me.
