Story
If you love hanging with people that are the life of the party, you're gonna love Peanut! He's ready to party! Peanut is a 14 month old, 52 pound, terrier mix. He's mostly potty trained, not crate trained but is non destructive and so trainable! Currently his party tricks are; Paws Up, Wait, Sit, Shake, Down. He's ready to learn more, what will you teach him? This guy loves to play with dogs, he's working on learning everyone's play style. He has met kids, and would probably love some bigger sturdier children. He's still a bouncy baby himself. He has not met a cat, but his foster mom reports he's not interested in the furry small animals outside in his yard. Peanut's ideal home will be one with a dog friend to wrestle, humans who love to do things (hikes, training, sports) and then cuddle. He's in the running for World's Best Cuddler, hope there's room for him on the couch and in your bed. Peanut is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and ready to love you. Apply today and get the party started.

Story
"Act your age! Don't you know you're a senior?!" or "You can't teach an old dog new tricks." Lily wholeheartedly disagrees with both sentences. If you also think age is just a number, let us tell you about the best girl in town. Lily is a 7 year old, 75# pitbull mix. While on paper, that may make her a senior, spend a little time with Lily, and you'll agree she is NOT a senior. Lily is potty trained, doesn't need to be crated, and walks like she's been doing it her whole life. Training is her favorite. She loves learning new things, especially when you have the *good* treats out. Canine fitness, agility, scentwork, hiking.. you name it, she's done it and would do it again. After raising multiple litters, Lily is done having babies (she's spayed) and doesn't want to live with any young rambuctious dogs. She would probably love having a respectful dog friend, or a tiny dog and would definitely love having some human children to love. Snuggles mixed with adventures is the key to Lily's heart. And snacks, she looooooooves snacks. Come fly in the face of aging with Lily, she's like Paul Rudd but a dog. Who knows, maybe she found the fountain of youth? Adopt Lily and ask her yourself.

Story
Meet Harper, your potential new best friend! Harper is a 4-year-old pit bull mix who embodies the perfect balance of energy and chillaxin’. Whether you’re up for an adventure or prefer a quiet day at home, Harper adapts beautifully to your pace. She’s an excellent traveler, always ready for a road trip or long walks in new places. She is learning leash manners and will typically follow your pace, from speed walker to casual stroll. Harper’s signature feature is her right ear at attention. Harper is learning to enjoy new foods and inspects them carefully before consuming. We have learned that she is not a big fan of cucumbers and is discerning about her taste in cheese. She enjoys sunbathing and is smart enough to find shade when she gets too hot. Harper can be very playful and entertains herself with fluffy toys, and she’s always up for a game of fetch. This cool 38lb dog is unphased by thunderstorms or fireworks. Harper is incredibly smart and food motivated, making training sessions both fun and productive. She knows how to sit and always takes treats gently. Honestly, a baby could feed her treats. She wants nothing more than to please her humans and loves being by their side. If she ever tries to trespass into the garden or steal food from the counter, she responds well to verbal corrections and copious amounts of treats as a reward for listening. Harper is an amazing dog and is rebuilding her confidence; she will thrive in a patient and supportive home that understands her needs. She would do very well with someone that works from home, as she is working through her isolation anxiety. The good news is she’s making great progress and she’ll continue to improve with love, consistency, and reassurance. Harper does well with children, but very young children may be too unpredictable. She lives with a 15-year-old human and a 14-year-old, 24lb resident mix dog, Mr. Watson. She loves to clean his face after he eats. They’re happy to share a big dog bed or couch space, and sleep while mom is working, or when it’s family chill time. We are unsure about her compatibility with cats. If you’re looking for a loyal, smart, and playful companion, Harper is the dog for you. She’s waiting to find her forever home where she can share all her love and bring endless joy to her new family. Could that be with you?

Story
Rosemary (Rosie) has a heart bigger than her head – an impressive feat for a blocky-headed dog. She leans her whole body into cuddles and will bring her toys right to your hand, wiggling in excitement to play with you. She can also read your energy and knows when to self-entertain if you’re not in the mood to play. She is moderate energy – she loves to run and play, but also tires out quickly, so no need to worry about multiple-hour walks. As long as she can get her energy out, Rosie would likely be fine with kids who are old enough to respect her boundaries and not get knocked over by zoomies. She is fully potty trained, and tolerates her crate but is left free-roaming at her foster home with no issues. Despite being a sweet and loving dog, the world can be a scary place for Rosie – full of sudden movements and unfamiliar places. People are her anchor – from friendly strangers she happily greets at a bar to the full trust she builds with her humans, everything seems a little bit better when she has people to show her she’s safe. The biggest part of keeping Rosie safe is regulating her interactions with other dogs. She has had several negative altercations with dogs in the past, and her continuing fear of dogs manifests itself as reactivity. She is muzzle trained for her own safety, and needs someone who can handle how hard a 50lb dog can pull on walks and help her keep her distance from other dogs who may be out. Because of this fear, Rosie would be easiest as an only pet. However, she has happily lived with another dog in the past, and with lots of time, commitment, and patience, she could potentially be integrated with another dog in the future. The biggest factor would be humans who respect and enforce her boundaries and are committed to setting her up for success. Rosie has not been tested with cats or other smaller animals, but would likely have similar needs – slow integration, trust that her boundaries will be respected, and the ability for both her and the other animal to get space from each other if needed. Rosie has a lot of love to give, and is ready to build her foundation with her forever home. Could that be you?

Story
S'mores are one of the best campfire snacks. The gooey marshmallow, melty chocolate, and crunchy graham crackers are the perfect trifecta in a dessert. But without the graham crackers it is amess. We can agree the graham crackers are vital to a good s'more. And that is true of our Graham cracker too! Graham is an excellent addition to any home and without him you are missing out! Graham found his way to Canine Cupids after three months at MADACC. Even after that time he has kept his happy, loving personality. Graham loves toys more than anything! He will carry a ball with him 24/7 if he could. Squeaky toys work too! He loves running around and playing keep away. But no stuffies are safe from Graham. He fancies himself a stuffie destroyer and promptly removes all the stuffing. Graham loves all humans and soaking up the cuddles. We do, however, recommend any children be 10 years of age or older because he thinks he is a lap dog: he will crawl right on top of your lap, sit down and stay there until he's gotten his fill. He hasn't found a human he doesn't like. This handsome boy is also good with other dogs. Graham has enjoyed strolls with other dogs and done amazing. He also has the softest fur of any dog! Graham enjoys sleeping all night long in his crate and is potty trained. He is currently learning that counter surfing isn't cool. His foster mom calls him a "distinguished gentleman". Don't miss out on this good boy any longer, apply to meet Graham today.
