Story
Meet Theodore Winston, “Theo”for short who came to Canine Cupids from Chicago where he was found wandering the streets. He was emaciated , scared and spent two months in the shelter where he became a volunteer favorite because of his sweet nature and handsome looks. Theo is a 90 pound 5 year old love bug. Theo loves to play with tennis balls. He loves the company of other dogs and could benefit best from having a fur sibling in his future home. With his strong wiggy tail he would not be suitable in a home with small children. Theo is potty trained and enjoys lounging during the day. He will need his daily walks and a home that is willing to help him work on building his confidence .

Story
You’ve heard of David Copperfield, David Blaine and now the cutest magician of all…Davey! At 2 years old and 40lbs, Davey is the perfect pocket pup for magical adventures! You will be hypnotized when his eyes look deep into yours as you cuddle. (And you will be cuddling. A lot.) You will be bewitched by his speed and agility as he runs and plays with your active family. You will be entertained by Davey’s curiosity and quest to boop everything and everyone. Like most performers, he gets pretty excited when he meets new fans, especially dogs but is quickly learning to play it cool. He currently lives with two other doggos and loves play time with them. Cats have not been part of his act in the past and we think that’s best. Davey also loves people so much he often uses his best Houdini moves to see his humans again. He will do best in a home where he has an audience more often then not. He is not a fan of a kennel, who is!?! Davey is very smart and picks up on your routine quickly. He would LOVE someone to run with or do agility classes, his nimble feet and mind are perfect for it. Davy will need a more experienced owner who knows that all good things come with time and patience. With the balance of the right home and a little medication, he will be a snuggly, happy, playful dog. If you are looking for a dog with real animal magnetism and Hollywood-good looks, let yourself fall under Davey’s spell and never be bored again.

Story
Beanie ???Beanie loves walking on the trail and exploring. Beanie is currently being fostered at SkyDance Pet Lodge where she loves learning manners and agility with the training team and playing with all the high-energy pups that come for daycare. Beanie is very food motivated and loves to play with any and all toys! Beanie is considered special needs as she is Deaf. Frequently asked questions about dogs like beanie: Does she have any dietary restrictions as she is a pure white dog?Yes! But it's super easy. Beanie does best on a salmon or lamb kibble. We avoid chicken however she still enjoys all sorts of training treats which have not caused any issues. She is on a probiotic also. Does she have skin issues? Nope! Beanie is in great physical health. She enjoys getting groomed by our grooming team on a regular basis to maintain a healthy coat, but she does not have any medical issues. Is it hard to train a deaf dog? No. It's not hard but it is different. There are challenges and advantages. A dog that can't hear you open a packet of chips, hear the delivery driver approaching or get startled by kids throwing something, has big advantages in terms of training, however, recall and understanding other dogs communicating can be tougher. Is she social? Yes, beanie is social with people and dogs. She still has some puppy behaviors and jumps up at times so we wouldn't recommend a home with small children. I'd also recommend a home with a more submissive dog and a dog that has a lot of tolerance, she has been nothing but sweet with my dog but she is very high energy when she plays and depends upon the other dog to walk away and end the fun. What home would be best? Beanie would do best in a moderately- very active home. She would be an awesome agility dog or just your hiking buddy. Beanie has a great off switch and will relax and entertain herself. She would thrive being able to go to daycare while her family is at work to really burn off that extra energy! If you need some “me” time in the mornings, then Sylvie is the companion for you! Enjoy a couple of cups of coffee and a shower before this loving, “velvet hippo” cuddle-bug even starts her day. Or sleep in and snuggle with her! Sylvie is curious, confident, silly, and occasionally energetic. She likes short 30 minute walks, kisses, hanging out with you and a tug-of-war after a good nap. Any physical touch, like snuggles, belly rubs or ear scratches are welcome. She may be a little over eager around the younger children. They could be scared by all the kisses and her wanting to be so close. At 8 yrs old, she's not interested in other dogs and will usually walk right past them. But she should be monitored when other dogs are close by. For these reasons she will be most successful in a home that has no other dogs or children under 10. As a proper lady, Sylvie is housetrained, will stay when told, and doesn’t need crating. She will shake your hand and is open to learning more. She likes to feel secure so keep her leashed outside, but do introduce her to all your human friends, especially those she can meet after a car ride or at a patio bar. Your day will end with her head in your lap, because she is your new best friend.

Story
Rosemary aka Rosie does everything with her full heart. She will fully love you, fully play with you, fully snuggle you, whatever you're up for she's all in. Rosie would do best as a only fur baby or with other pups that are her size (~50 lb) or larger. She is not a fan of smaller animals, at all. There has been skirmish between her and a smaller pup that included a bite. With her people, Rosie is nothing but love. Slow and steady is part of Rosie's motto. Introductions to fur or human friends are best when they are done slowly and give her time and space to feel comfortable. Once she is comfortable with someone it’s loving time. She's estimated to be about 6 years old, so she's outgrown the puppy antics, but she still loves a good game of fetch or tug, and a nice walk is always fun. She's great at matching her people's energy, so if you want to play she'll play, but if you want some space she can self-entertain with a bone before coming over to snuggle. She is potty trained and can be left to roam when you're not home. Rosie can be vocal when she plays, and can sometimes jump or be mouthy when she's excited - she redirects easily, but she would do best in a home without young children. She would love a fenced in yard, but can also get her energy out with some playing indoors and a nice walk for stimulation. Rosie's main ask is for a home that will keep her safe, which includes setting her up for success and keeping her out of stressful or uncontrolled situations. She's looking for Forever - could that be you?

Story
Hey there, I'm Max or as my foster humans call the goodest boy ever. I came into foster care after my previous home decided they didn't want me anymore and threw me from a moving car — literally. They said they had allergies and I found myself in a shelter. I wasn't doing so well there, I was scared, couldn’t sleep and didn't eat much. Since then I've found myself in a new place to stay with humans who are teaching me very cool skills and most importantly who love to pet me and like having me around — I love me some loving. At my current crash pad I have two fur foster sibs. I love it when they play with me and sometimes my humans laugh and tell me to take a break, that tomorrows another safe and happy day. I have typical puppy behaviors left in me so I'm working on my manners and going potty outside. I'm a not a big fan of the crate and sometimes I like to check out toys/shoes/socks to make sure they are safe and harmless to all. Snuggles are my favorite, favorite, favorite thing and I promise I’ll be a loyal loving friend. No kitties friends for me, I like them too much and play a bit too rough for these delicate creatures

BIO: I've been looking for a new home for some time now. I love people and other dogs and bubbles! I have fun at the beach and at smaller dog parks. I'm learning itsyerchoice and it's recommended that it continues as I did come in malnourished. I eat puppy food still in a slow feeder, but helping me learn will be easy as I'm food motivated and scritches motivated. I am on a tie out right now because the back yard leads right into another yard, but my recall is improving. I love to play with my toys and even share them with you! I'm potty trained and crate trained. I would do best with another playful dog companion and am ready for a foster to adopt home. I could truly be your new best friend.

Story
Legend was left with me and the owner never returned for him. He is loving friendly energetic and always happy. He is a very playful dog. He enjoys kids but because of his energy and size not sure young kids would be a good fit unless he was trained and supervised. He loves to rough house with my teenaged son. He is like 1 or 1 1/2 years old and is big. He doesn't realize how big he is or how strong. Legend needs training all the vaccines and to be neutered. He would benefit so greatly from a home who can give him the time love and freedom he deserves. He will be a wonderful companion and fit right in with a family. I'm truly sad to see him leave but I'm not able to care for him. I want what's best for him.

Story
Mercy was originally found on the streets of Milwaukee and after spending some time in our home was taken to MADACC. Around strangers she is somewhat shy, and due to this MADACC was going to euthanize her as no one had come forward as her owner. Because we had experience with her and knew what she was like outside of a shelter, we decided to adopt her and give her more time to find her forever home. Mercy, loves to sprint around the backyard and burry her bones everywhere. She especially loves to chew on her beef rib bone and get treats. Although she is not 100% house broken, she has picked up very quickly on where and when to go. Cuddling on the couch is also a new favorite pastime of hers - she is a sucker for belly rubs! We are unsure how she is with cats and children, but she is head over heels for other dogs! Walking could use some work as she is very curious about smells and is stronger than she thinks, but would be an excellent dog to take on long walks.

Story
My name is Lou, and my parents asked me to write about myself. Though I’m turning two years old in July, I still have a lot of puppy energy and I love walks. I was at the Wisconsin Humane Society for just a few days before my family took me home in January. I really like my house except that it doesn’t have a fenced yard, which I would love to run around in. My mom and dad are wonderful and they say I’m smart, funny, and I am a great snuggler. But they feel I’d be happier with someone(s) who could run me harder and help me get my energy out in healthy ways. I’m 62 pounds, but I can still be a lap dog, right? I have graduated from two manners classes, but get anxious when I see other dogs. I might be better off in a family with no other pets, or with another big dog with lots of energy. I’m much better now about not jumping on human friends, but forget when I’m excited. So young children might not be a good fit. I’m food motivated, trained to sleep in my crate, and love puzzles.
