Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Harley is such a great dog! A note from his foster:  He’s perfectly well-behaved in the house. House-trained, gentle and happily goes into his crate at night or when asked. He’s smart and knows some commands. Seems to take satisfaction from pleasing humans, with just enough personality to make you laugh. He knows enough to test boundaries, but quickly course-corrects. This pup is grateful for getting the pets and is thrilled with the bully-rub.  He’s happy to nap by your feet during work calls, lay in the sun, and eager to go for walks. Good on a leash. Happy to sit for his harness and takes commands well when leaving the house. His prey drive is high — gets too excited about squirrels, most birds, other critters that scurry. He’s not well-suited for other dogs. Or cats.  He’s got some hound in his mix; loves to sniff and on the occasions when a siren would pass he would sing along. (Adorable.) Not a crazy barker, but can sound fierce when he does bark. He’s more of a gentle giant with humans. Did just fine with new people coming into the home. Sheds a lot!  Harley would live his best life in a home where he’s the only pet. A privacy-fenced yard to run free in would be nice, I suspect, but he’s seemingly just as happy to live in a city and go for walks a few times a day. Contact with other dogs would have to be limited.  He’s the perfect dog if you’re looking for a loyal best friend, and don’t have other pets.  Due to his being dog selective, we will only place Admiral in a home with childern 14 and older. If you are interested in Admiral, please contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com      *** Click here to sponsor this dog! *** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 24, 2024, 8:33 pm

Story
Meet Finn! He's a 23 pound, 4 1/2 month old bully mix who loves to be your sidekick. He's already mastered his crate and is working hard on the rest of his basic commands, including potty training. Finn is your typical puppy, he LOVES to play. He's very content chewing on a toy by himself, bringing you something to play fetch with, or running around with other dogs. He will then take a lengthy nap to rest his tired little puppy legs. In true pup fashion, Finn does need supervision as he hasn't learned what items in the house are toys and which ones aren't. Being a puppy is confusing sometimes! He's super smart and just needs a few reminders as he learns the ropes. Finn gets along with everyone, especially kids. He's very happy curling up beside whoever is available for a quick nap, and even lets out the cutest audible yawns as he settles in. Finn is UTD on vaccines and preventatives and is being fostered in York, PA while waiting for his furever home. Apply today to add Finn to your family! According to Aster, there is no such thing as too many toys or bones. Aster will be trying to catch birds and squirrels in New Freedom, PA while he waits for you. Story
A couple weeks ago, two mini rescuers (3 and 6 yrs old), helped rescue this sweet girl. They named her Callie as she reminded them of a cow and Cowie was close enough! Callie was a stray that no one claimed and no one in the neighborhood recognized when attempts were made so the rescuers wanted her to find a forever family that will love and cherish her. Callie appears to be around 6 months old and 35 lbs. She loves to play with canine friends. She is a puppy who jumps but doesn’t have a mean bone in her body with young kids. She’s working hard on crate and house training. Callie has been vaccinated and a spay appointment scheduled. She is waiting for her family in Harrisburg, PA New Oxford PA 17350; LIC # 9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers.
