Story
Meet Chip! Chip is a 5 month old, female, bulldog mix weighing 35 lbs. Chip loves to play with her fur siblings but then also loves alone time. She also enjoys chewing on bones and playing fetch. She doesn't have a favorite squeaky toy; she hoards them all. Chip makes an excellent co pilot in the car. Chip is house and crate trained. She is working on puppy manners of not jumping and mouthing when meeting humans. She is up to date on vaccines. Due to her age, she isn't spayed. Come meet this sweet Chip in New Freedom, PA.   We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. We are an all-volunteer organization, and we are always looking for more help. Learn more about adopting from us or volunteering for us at www.pack9rescue.org or check us out on Facebook for more information and a complete list of dogs available for adoption. Story
Spears here (and no I'm not related to Brittney) I'm a 5 month old, female, bulldog mix puppy weighing 35 lbs. I'm a rough & tough little girl when playing with my fur siblings. When it comes to humans though, I'm very gentle. I do forget sometimes that I'm a puppy and jump. Chewing on bones and other toys is my favorite hobby. If you want me to be your co-pilot on a car ride, I'm an expert. My foster family says I'm house and crate trained. I'm too young to be spayed but am current with vaccines. I'll patiently wait for you in New Freedom, PA.   We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Harley is such a great dog! A note from his foster:  He’s perfectly well-behaved in the house. House-trained, gentle and happily goes into his crate at night or when asked. He’s smart and knows some commands. Seems to take satisfaction from pleasing humans, with just enough personality to make you laugh. He knows enough to test boundaries, but quickly course-corrects. This pup is grateful for getting the pets and is thrilled with the bully-rub.  He’s happy to nap by your feet during work calls, lay in the sun, and eager to go for walks. Good on a leash. Happy to sit for his harness and takes commands well when leaving the house. His prey drive is high — gets too excited about squirrels, most birds, other critters that scurry. He’s not well-suited for other dogs. Or cats.  He’s got some hound in his mix; loves to sniff and on the occasions when a siren would pass he would sing along. (Adorable.) Not a crazy barker, but can sound fierce when he does bark. He’s more of a gentle giant with humans. Did just fine with new people coming into the home. Sheds a lot!  Harley would live his best life in a home where he’s the only pet. A privacy-fenced yard to run free in would be nice, I suspect, but he’s seemingly just as happy to live in a city and go for walks a few times a day. Contact with other dogs would have to be limited.  He’s the perfect dog if you’re looking for a loyal best friend, and don’t have other pets.  Due to his being dog selective, we will only place Admiral in a home with childern 14 and older. Story
Meet Sweeeeeeettt Caroline! She is truly a sweetheart and loves to stand up and dance to greet everyone she meets. Caroline was surrendered when her previous owners moved and couldn't take her with them. She is ready to find her forever home that will love her like she will love them. Caroline is very eager to greet people and can pull and be a bit jumpy in her excitement. She is extremely athletic and is able to jump up to give face kisses. We think Caroline would be an amazing running partner or agility dog! She is very smart; we know she can be trained to learn proper manners on how to greet people. Besides loving up on her people, Caroline's favorite thing is to play ball. She will chase any kind of ball she can find. If she can't find a ball, she'll pick up another dog toy and carry it with her everywhere - even on walks! Caroline hopes to find a family that is as active as she is to play with her and let her explore. Good times will never seem as good if you don't have Caroline by your side. Caroline does have a prey drive, so she will need a home without cats or other small critters. She has never lived with other pets in a home, so we do not know if she would like living with another dog. We may consider adopters with another dog if they have experience with integrating a new dog into their home safely. Caroline will need a home without young children, but older teens that are dog savvy should be fine. If you are interested in meeting Caroline, please complete an application on our website: www.crcpa.org

Story
NAME: Kyle BREED: Boxer/Hound Mix BIRTHDAY: 2021 WEIGHT: 60lbs ADOPTION FEE: $250 &#226&#128&#139 Kyle was on of four similar-looking dogs found locked in a shed together. They were taken to a crowded shelter in the south, overlooked among dozens and dozens of others. We agreed to take one of the four, despite their young ages. When Kyle arrived, he was covered in cuts and scratches in varying states of healing. He was very thin, with ribs and hip bones clearly visible. Day one with him was an absolute nightmare: he had obviously never been inside a house before, he was not neutered and had immediate problems with another intact male here, he was incredibly fearful and stressed and unable to be handled. He jumped onto the kitchen counter and over every baby gate in the house. He barked all night until his foster mom slept next to his crate. They both had a good cry and hoped the next day would not be so horrible.   It was not. Day two, day three, day four... Kyle improved with each passing moment. He became friends with every dog in the house, even the big boy he had tried to fight when he first arrived. He discovered the cats and overcame his fears, attempting (often roughly and awkwardly) to befriend them as well. He learned to keep at least two feet on the kitchen floor, he learned about beds and leashes and regular meals, he learned that his foster mom was his best buddy and could be trusted to give and receive kisses. What he has not learned is that other people can be his buddies as well: although he does not jump up or bite, Kyle is very fearful when meeting strangers both in and out of his home. He does seem to prefer women and children but barks and postures with them at first. Things are much calmer when his foster mom is not home, and he is forced to be cared for by other people, but what this guy really needs is an experienced adopter who can commit to working with him to overcome the neglect he suffered before being taken to the shelter. Positive, repetitive reinforcement and exposure to kind and understanding folks are what Kyle needs in order to be his best self. In return, he will bless you with the goofy antics and unwavering love his foster mom has experienced with him. Kyle is just a sweet young boy and he deserves so much more than what he has been given so far.   Please email us at  goodoldtails@gmail.com  if you have any questions about Kyle's needs.
