Story
We’ve had Thor since he was 8 weeks old. He is a 6 years old and is the bestest boy. Except when kids and/or other animals come into the mix. Thor grew up to be a very insecure pup thanks to our oldest dog (now deceased) who constantly bullied him around causing them to have physical altercations. Thor no longer felt safe around any of our children either. He is amazing around adults, male and females, he just does not do well with children or animals. I do believe he can be rehabilitated from this, but unfortunately, our family do not have the means to be able to cover the cost of training. He loves snuggles and butt scratches, loves to play fetch and run around like the wild meatloaf he is. Beware of his hugs though! Being a meatloaf comes with downsides!

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Harley is such a great dog! A note from his foster:  He’s perfectly well-behaved in the house. House-trained, gentle and happily goes into his crate at night or when asked. He’s smart and knows some commands. Seems to take satisfaction from pleasing humans, with just enough personality to make you laugh. He knows enough to test boundaries, but quickly course-corrects. This pup is grateful for getting the pets and is thrilled with the bully-rub.  He’s happy to nap by your feet during work calls, lay in the sun, and eager to go for walks. Good on a leash. Happy to sit for his harness and takes commands well when leaving the house. His prey drive is high — gets too excited about squirrels, most birds, other critters that scurry. He’s not well-suited for other dogs. Or cats.  He’s got some hound in his mix; loves to sniff and on the occasions when a siren would pass he would sing along. (Adorable.) Not a crazy barker, but can sound fierce when he does bark. He’s more of a gentle giant with humans. Did just fine with new people coming into the home. Sheds a lot!  Harley would live his best life in a home where he’s the only pet. A privacy-fenced yard to run free in would be nice, I suspect, but he’s seemingly just as happy to live in a city and go for walks a few times a day. Contact with other dogs would have to be limited.  He’s the perfect dog if you’re looking for a loyal best friend, and don’t have other pets.  Due to his being dog selective, we will only place Admiral in a home with childern 14 and older. In fact, she's a WONDERFUL girl! If you are looking for that sweet, gentle, get along with everybody companion, who will love you with every fiber of her being, it is Brandy. She is so dependable, she has been used as a tester dog to see if other dogs are friendly. AND - she also tested very well with cats! Brandy is just a sweet, loving dog who is good with everybody!Brandy is fairly low key, but will romp and play, in a mannerly way, with other dogs. But she's happy to be a couch potato too, if that's what her new life would look like. Brandy walks well on a leash, and would love strolls through the neighborhood, by your side. At night, she'd curl up next to you, and cuddle. She's a quiet dog - not barky at all, does well in a crate and rides well too. She's a gentle soul.Brandy is 50 lbs and about 2 years old. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccines, dewormings and preventatives. She is also microchipped. Story
Meet Sweeeeeeettt Caroline! She is truly a sweetheart and loves to stand up and dance to greet everyone she meets. Caroline was surrendered when her previous owners moved and couldn't take her with them. She is ready to find her forever home that will love her like she will love them. Caroline is very eager to greet people and can pull and be a bit jumpy in her excitement. She is extremely athletic and is able to jump up to give face kisses. We think Caroline would be an amazing running partner or agility dog! She is very smart; we know she can be trained to learn proper manners on how to greet people. Besides loving up on her people, Caroline's favorite thing is to play ball. She will chase any kind of ball she can find. If she can't find a ball, she'll pick up another dog toy and carry it with her everywhere - even on walks! Caroline hopes to find a family that is as active as she is to play with her and let her explore. Good times will never seem as good if you don't have Caroline by your side. Caroline does have a prey drive, so she will need a home without cats or other small critters. She has never lived with other pets in a home, so we do not know if she would like living with another dog. We may consider adopters with another dog if they have experience with integrating a new dog into their home safely. Caroline will need a home without young children, but older teens that are dog savvy should be fine. If you are interested in meeting Caroline, please complete an application on our website: www.crcpa.org
