Story
I have been fostering Roxie for 3 months. My Veterinarian approximated the ages of 11 months to 1.5 years old. I am unable to continue to foster her because I will be moving and I live in a one bedroom apartment, which is not an ideal space for her. She is a great dog, very energetic and playful! She LOVES people, but unsure of other dogs, I would recommend she be the only dog. She would be perfect with a family that loves to be outdoors and has a big yard where she can run and explore. She is housebroken and is easily trainable. I was able to train her how to sit, stay, leave it, wait, and down, very quickly. She is food motivated, which will help with training. She has a big heart and loves to cuddle, give big hugs and kisses. I am willing to give the crate that I bought for her as well as her leashes/harnesses. Also, she is currently up to date on vaccines/heart worm prevention. I hope to find a family that will give her the attention she needs and create a special bond with her.

Story
I rescued my dog from a shelter in Los Angeles when he was 7 months old. I don't know what happened during the 7 months but I know he had to be given up due to not being allowed to have him at the apartment of whoever had him before me. He is 7 years old as of December 2023. He was fine for a long time, but he pulls on his leash, chews up books, paper, goes through trash, and has become overall very hard to deal with for the amount of attention he needs. He's not a bad dog but I don't have the energy anymore to continue dealing with these issues. He is high energy and needs to be able to run around.

Story
Meet Quinn! She is a spirited 2.5-year-old female American Staffordshire Terrier from the lively city of Chicago, Illinois. Although rooted in the Windy City, Quinn is ready and willing to embark on a journey to find her new forever home! This lovable ball of energy has a dual nature; she adores invigorating walks and intense tug-of-war sessions yet can seamlessly transition into a laid-back couch potato. Quinn's favorite pastime is basking in the sun, indulging in hours of peaceful napping. Quinn's super sniffer is her guide to exploring the vast world around her. With an insatiable curiosity, she takes delight in investigating every nook and cranny during her outdoor escapades! As a true attention seeker, Quinn thrives when she's the center of focus and would be most content as the sole pet in her family. While she has undergone substantial training, she can become overstimulated, emphasizing the importance of patience and consistent reinforcement. Quinn requires ongoing training and would thrive in an environment without other dogs or small children. This intelligent canine companion has mastered commands such as Sit, Stay, Down, Place, Off, Okay, Right here, This way, and Come. Quinn, having undergone surgery for a luxated patella on her left side, will require the same procedure on her right. Otherwise, Quinn is a healthy girl with her vaccines up to date; she has been spayed and microchipped. Quinn is currently insured, and efforts will be made to transfer her policy to the new family. This aims to ensure that her upcoming patella surgery will be covered, just like her first surgery. Quinn's love knows no bounds, and she is an ideal companion for the right family. A cuddler at heart, she relishes lying snugly in your lap, whether for a nap or a bone-chewing session! Despite her boundless energy and occasional loss of focus, Quinn excels at learning new tricks. Quinn is a captivating blend of energy, curiosity, and affection, a canine companion ready to bring joy to the heart of her perfect family! If you believe Quinn could be the perfect addition to your home, please email us directly at adopt@joyfulpets.com for more information. Your journey to a joy-filled life with Quinn awaits!

Story
Simon is an 8 month old mixed breed puppy. After consulting with Google, we think he could be a Collie of some type, maybe mixed with Boxer, but that's just our best guess. He has the goofiness of a Boxer, the smarts of a Collie, and the energy level of both. Simon is super athletic, and would be a great running, walking or hiking partner. He would be a great candidate for agility training too. He is adorable, playful, funny, curious, and affectionate. He gets along with most other dogs as long there are proper introductions. He would also be just fine as an only dog, as long as he gets plenty of attention, exercise and play time. Please submit your application to meet Simon, and an adoption counselors will contact you.
