Diesel the Gentle Giant - The Story of a Big Baby With a Bigger Heart Not all heroes wear capesâ&#194&#128&#194&#148some come barreling through life like a tank, muscles rippling, eyes wide, heart huge. Meet Diesel, the American Staffordshire Terrier whose story began with fear, misunderstanding, and a call to the policeâ&#194&#128&#194&#148but transformed into one of love, redemption, and second chances. Diesel's journey started in Dallas, where a call came in to local police about a 'big aggressive dog' roaming the streets. When officers arrived, they didnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t find a monsterâ&#194&#128&#194&#148they found Diesel. A tank of a dog, yesâ&#194&#128&#194&#148massive, alert, and built like a linebacker. But behind that intimidating frame was a soul desperate not for a fight, but for a family. That first impression didnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t tell the whole story. Because Diesel wasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t aggressiveâ&#194&#128&#194&#148he was scared. Alone. Misjudged. But someone took a chance on him. And that chance revealed the truth: Diesel wasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t dangerousâ&#194&#128&#194&#148he was a big baby. From that day forward, Diesel blossomed into the gentle giant he was always meant to be. With each passing day, he shed the stigma of his breed and background, replacing it with goofy grins, wiggly butt greetings, and endless cuddles. The dog who once drew police calls now draws smiles, head pats, and the occasional â&#194&#128&#194&#156Whoaâ&#194&#128&#194&#148heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s huge!â&#194&#128&#194&#157 followed quickly by â&#194&#128&#194&#156Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s so sweet!â&#194&#128&#194&#157 Diesel has a heart as big as his paws. He loves deeply, snores proudly, and will absolutely try to fit in your lapâ&#194&#128&#194&#148even if it takes some rearranging. His loyalty is unmatched, his playfulness contagious, and his gentleness downright disarming. He is a protector, a clown, a cuddler, and a survivor. But most of all, Diesel is loveâ&#194&#128&#194&#148proof that sometimes, the roughest starts lead to the most beautiful stories. And while he may have come into the world like a tank, Dieselâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s true power lies not in his sizeâ&#194&#128&#194&#148but in his soul. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Diesel III, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
We inherited Bishop from a college fraternity house several years ago, where he wasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t getting the consistent attention and structure he deserved. Since then, he has grown into a calm, loyal, and gentle companion. Bishop is a 40-pound, 7-year-old pitbull & corgi mix, with a sweet personality and a soft, sensitive nature. He bonds deeply with his person and thrives in a predictable, loving environment. He can be nervous with new people at first, but once he feels safe, he is incredibly affectionate and devoted. We are looking for a stable home that understands shy or anxious dogs and can offer him patience, kindness, and a fenced backyard to play in. He loves running outside, relaxing near his people, and spending time with other dogs. He is also good with cats and children. The best words to describe him would be calm, quiet, loyal, loving, and gentle. We love Bishop very much, but our family is going through a transition period. Our goal is to find a home where he can continue to feel secure, cared for, and understood. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Bishop, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Tank is a 7-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier with the heart of a teddy bear and the size of a small horse. Though his powerful frame and deep bark might turn heads, anyone lucky enough to know him quickly learns that Tank is all sugar and no spice. His journey into a loving home began in an unexpected place â&#194&#128&#194&#148 a call from the Dallas Police Department. Labeled â&#194&#128&#194&#156aggressiveâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 by those who didnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t understand him, Tankâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s fate was uncertain. But one look into his soulful eyes revealed the truth: he wasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t dangerous, just misunderstood. Fortunately, someone with compassion and intuition saw past the stereotypes and brought him home â&#194&#128&#194&#148 and thatâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s where Tankâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s real story began. Energetic and playful, Tank lives for long walks, joyful leaps, and noisy toys that squeak, squawk, or crunch. He has an endless love for playtime, though his coordination isn't always as graceful as his heart is big. One of his most infamous moments? The Great Squirrel Chase â&#194&#128&#194&#148 a wild backyard sprint that ended not in victory, but in the squirrel outrunning him with comedic ease. Tank may have lost the race, but he gained a story that still brings laughter. Despite his tough exterior, Tank is a certified softie â&#194&#128&#194&#148 a big crybaby at times who isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t shy about letting you know when he wants attention, cuddles, or snacks (especially snacks). He thrives on love and affection, and he gives it back tenfold. Tank is a daily reminder that appearances can be deceiving and that love, loyalty, and a little bit of silliness can turn any 'aggressive' label into a legend of joy. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s not just a pet â&#194&#128&#194&#148 heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s family. A gentle soul with a goofy streak, Tank has brought light, laughter, and an endless supply of tail wags to everyone lucky enough to know him. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Tank, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Meet Finnan! ð&#194&#159&#194&#144¾ Finnan is a 6â&#194&#128&#194&#1477 year old, 66-pound pit mix with the most soulful eyes and a heart full of love. He was rescued and adopted in 2021, and everyone whoâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s ever met him has fallen in love with him. Finnan is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. His favorite thing in the world is curling up on the couch with his people, where he transforms into a big lap dog who will happily soak up every bit of affection. He even has an adorable way of asking for pets â&#194&#128&#194&#148 by gently nudging your hand with his nose until you give in! Finnan has a moderate energy level â&#194&#128&#194&#148 he enjoys a good daily walk and some playtime, but heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s just as content to lounge the rest of the day if thatâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s what his family is doing. He gets along well with female dogs but cannot live with another male dog. Because he can be protective and doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t like being crowded, Finnan is not suited for a home with young children. He would thrive in a calm, structured household where he can be close to his people and know heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s safe and loved. This smart boy is house-trained, crate-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and knows his basic commands. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s eager to please, very affectionate, and loves being part of family life. His ideal home would be with adults or a family with older teens, and possibly a mellow female dog companion. We are seeking a new home for Finnan because with two very young children in our household, we canâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t provide the safe and consistent environment he needs to thrive. Finnan is truly a loyal, cuddly, and loving companion who will make a wonderful best friend in the right home. ð&#194&#159&#194&#146&#194&#153 * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Finnan, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Bethany is a fun loving sassy spirited pocket pitty. She had a tough start medically, but has bounced back from every challenge and setback she has had and is now healthy as a horse! She loves belly rubs and if you let her she will burrow beside you in bed, popping her head out to wink at you with her pirate eye! She does everything with her whole heart. She loves toys and has learned to use the doggy door, but sometimes prefers her humans open the whole door…. Just to keep them on their toes. Bethany is funny and smart and is learning her ahoooos as she finds her voice. She lives for everyday and loves nothing more than to be by your side for the adventure of her life!Applications can be found online at www.pawsofloverescue.com, under the adopt tab.  We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.  November 20, 2025, 10:16 pm

Story
Meet Thunder â&#194&#154¡ð&#194&#159&#194&#144¾ Thunder is a 6-year-old male Boxer with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. Sweet, friendly, and affectionate, Thunder is the kind of dog who thrives on companionship and truly enjoys being part of a family. Thunder has an average energy level and loves a good balance of playtime and walks. He does best when he has daily opportunities to move, explore, and engageâ&#194&#128&#194&#148followed by plenty of cuddle time. He responds beautifully to verbal praise and positive reinforcement, and may need gentle encouragement at first when settling into a new home, especially around mealtime. This handsome guy is playful and social, does well with children, and is friendly with other medium to large dogs. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s also good with cats, making him a wonderful option for a variety of households. Thunder especially loves toys and will happily accept treats once he feels comfortable. At the end of the day, Thunderâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s favorite place is right by his personâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s sideâ&#194&#128&#194&#148he enjoys sleeping with his owner and will happily offer his signature Boxer hugs when prompted. His ideal home is one where he can receive the attention, love, and companionship he deserves, with people who have time to play with him and take him on regular walks. Thunder is being rehomed through no fault of his own, due to age-related limitations of his current owner. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s ready for a new chapter with a family who will cherish him as much as he will cherish them. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will fill your home with love (and hugs), Thunder is your perfect match! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Thunder II, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. She has not been around cats. She currently resides with her mom, two siblings and a Lab. Sharae loves water especially playing in her puppy pool. She is one smart pup! Because she is a pup, would love to put her in an environment with a family that has children, if possible.l, but not required. Sharae is partially crate trained with no issues sleeping or playing in one. However, she does not potty inside, as she will bark to inform you when she needs to go. Sharae will need continued training on a leash and basic commands. Sharae has received the following vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella, DHPP. She is microchipped and will be spayed on 06/17/2025. Reason for rehoming: Sharae is currently under temporary care by her rescue family who are unable to keep her permanently. This happy-go-lucky pup is deserving of the perfect furever home.
