Story
Hati here, and I'm super excited to introduce myself! I'm equal parts couch potato and eager beaver. Most of the time I can be found snoozing on the couch or in my bed , but I'm always down for a good walk around the neighborhood or playtime with my toys . One thing you should know about me is that I love grass, but grass does not love me. Playing outside is one of my favorite hobbies, but it makes my skin a little itchy. I'm an expert eater and bubble bather because special food and bath time keep my skin itch-free. But can I tell you a secret? My favorite food is whatever the humans are eating. Shhh, don't tell . Not to toot my own horn, but I'm an expert cuddler. No need for a blanket when you've got me around. I'm a super affectionate girl and I love attention - from humans that is. I'm a bit of a diva and don't like sharing the spotlight with other fur friends. Can you blame me? If you've got hands for belly scratches, a couch for cuddling, and a soul for loving, I'd love to be a part of your next big adventure (or your next movie night ). Apply to meet me today, my tail can't contain its excitement! Hati is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Maple is a sweet, cuddly, athletic, energetic, and smart puppy. She just turned 1 year in March! She is a 50 pound cuddle bug and loves to curl up under covers. Being a puppy and part pit she does love to chew :) Always needs a bone! She is house and crate trained. She does very well with training and currently uses a gentle leader around her snout that keeps her from pulling. She now walks on her owner's left side and does not pull, but is working on her reactivity when seeing other dogs on the leash, which she is also improving on. Maple would do great with someone who is just as active as her. She loves to go on long walks and playing fetch! She is incredibly loyal and it breaks her owner's heart to let her go. Unfortunately their older dog fights with her. Maple really is a great puppy and will make someone an excellent best friend. She deserves a fun and happy life. Maple is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Opal is a little over 3 years old and 75 pounds of loving energy who needs an experienced Staffy owner. She has had several homes in her short life and is looking for her forever family! Her current foster family is extremely sad their home is not a good permanent fit for her and to have to rehome this loving girl but their schedules and other animals in the home cause Opal stress and anxiety. Opal's favorite past times are snuggling up and cuddling on the couch, playing with toys, going on walks, and playing catch - although we are still working on returning the ball - with her person. Opal loves just being with her person! She has separation anxiety when left alone from her past. Her crate is definitely her safe space and will come with her. Opal has had quite a bit of training while with her foster family. She has learned how to behave on a leash, sit and wait patiently for her food, and settle her nerves with help from simple commands and direction from whoever is handling her. Opal prefers female humans over males. Her current foster has had her for nearly two years and she still has reservations about her male owner at times (only when anyone else is around - accepts him fully when they are alone), but LOVES her female human mamma. Opal loves making friends but is very choosy about them, so a home with no cats and only male dogs would be best. She LOVES kids though and all the attention that brings!! Opal has a passion for chew toys and soft cuddly, things - especially her blankie. She is spayed, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and heartworm free. Please give this special girl a chance today. Opal is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

Story
Hi, I am Schatzi (German for Sweetie). I walked into my foster dad's garage and he was so nice to me that I did not want to leave. My foster dad and I get along great, but he can't keep me as he already has six rescue dogs that were lucky enough to walk into his garage too. They are a lot smaller than me, but to be honest, none of them are as beautiful as I am, if I may say so myself. I may be a bit of a diva! He has even temporarily moved into his daughter's house so that I can learn what it is like to be safe and loved. I am kind of thinking he did that because he needed a break from the other six! Just saying! They are kind of yappy, you know how small dogs are. I am approximately three years young, I have been spayed (no fun) and I am heartworm negative. I weigh 55 pounds as of today and I have had all of the required vaccines, I am in great health. I am potty trained and I am getting used to being in a crate. I am working on my indoor behavior as I like to counter surf but I have noticed that I am doing that less and less, it would appear that my foster dad does not care for that, he says it's bad manners. We go for long walks in the morning when it is not so darn HOT and I really like that; I am working on my leash manners. I also like to chase after the ball in the yard in the evenings or play tug of war or even chase after the water from the hose (my favorite). Did I mention that I like lounging on the couch, getting belly rubs and scratches. I am cautious when meeting new people and I would probably do better as an only dog in the house but with the proper introductions I might like a companion. I have not had any contact with cats, so . . . When I hear kids I get excited, the boy next door always says hi to me and I look for him every time I go outside. I am thinking that in my prior home, I was in a home that had children. I just want to be loved and enjoy the comforts of being with my humans; I would like to be indoors when it is hot and when it is cold. Please come meet me, I am looking forward to having a family of my own that will love me like I will love them. Tschuss! (German for See Ya Soon) Schatzi is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. Pearl loves love. She will soak up all the cuddles and ear scratches headed her way. She has a playful soul, but her favorite spot is curled up with you. When Pearl plays fetch or tug-o-war she really gives it her all, she is happiest when she is the center of attention. Pearl will head straight to her crate when you tell her it's "time for bed and will sit pretty for a treat. She adored her two older pit siblings, but did not get along with her sister/litter-mate. Pearl is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. Pip has a funny smile that will melt any heart. She has a playful, energetic personality and LOVES to play fetch and tug-o-war, but also enjoys quiet cuddles on the couch watching your favorite movie or sunbathing in the yard. She will trot right into her crate when told "time for bed and will happily sit for a treat. Pip got along famously with her two older pit siblings, but did not jive well with her sister/litter-mate. Pip is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. Story
TJ is such a great dog. He is approximately 3-4 yrs. old and loves people.  His excited state when seeing people he knows is to nip them on their fingers to get attention which could be alarming to small children therefore we believe he would do best with older children who would not be startled with this form of affection.  He does know the "sit" command and that helps to calm him down a little.  We believe he is a Staffordshire Terrier mixed with perhaps a boxer. He is currently fostered where he has to stay outside so we don't know if he is house trained.  He does have a large outside chain link kennel he stays in at night which has a designated area for relieving himself and he does use that area so we feel he would be easy to house train.  He isn't a big marker outside so we think that would not be a big issue inside the house but he would need to be watched to correct that issue should it arise.  He gets along with most dogs and has a best friend "Sofie" who he runs and plays with and they are in kennels next to each other.  We believe he would thrive better emotionally with a female companion to pal around with in a working family household where the family is gone part of the day since we already know he does so well with Sofie who is a girl.  We don't know how he is with cats.  Because our adoption process includes a home visit for a yard check, he is available for adoption in the immediate Dallas-Ft.Worth area only. He is neutered, current on his vaccinations, heartworm tested and micro chipped.  If you are seriously interested in meeting TJ outside our adoption events you may email us for a questionnaire to fill out.  If it looks like your home might be a good match for TJ we can set up a meet and greet.  His adoption fee is $150.April 9, 2023, 12:13 am

Hey there, I`m Paw! I`ve got energy for days and a love for play. I`m young, and boy do I love the ladies... dogs that is! I`m a bit of a Casanova, you see. But, ahem, just between us, I`m not so good with the fellas. A bit of a misunderstanding led me here. You see, I thought the neighbor`s cat was a lady dog. I was just trying to woo her with my charm when she got all hissy. Well, who knew cats didn`t like doggie kisses? Anyway, I`m barrier reactive, but don`t let that scare you off. I promise I`m a good boy, just need a bit of guidance. Adopt me, and let`s make some fun, silly memories together!

Story
My name is Chloe and I am a beautiful three your old 65 lb bully/boxer mix, or so my foster mom thinks I am. I have been spayed and dewormed and I have finished my HW treatment. I received my first preventative dose and have 5 more monthly HW prevention doses left before I can be retested to make sure I am negative. My previous owner took good care of me and I was handled as a puppy so I love ALL the pets. You can touch my paws, tummy and ears, no problem! I love to wear my harness and am learning to be a good walker on leash. I am all muscle so I need a strong pack leader to help redirect me on walks. I love being in the yard and I will follow you everywhere, inside or outside. I LOVE that I get to sleep in the bed with my foster mom but I will be ok sleeping in my own bed, too. When my foster mom is at work, I stay in my XL crate for a few hours. I do not like it but I manage. Just make sure I get a potty break first. Treats help lure me in and sometimes I need a little push. My previous owner kept letting me out so I was in the shelter 4 times before I was pulled by rescue. My foster mom does not know why my owner did not come for me the last time. I live with a small resident dog and 3 cats. I mostly ignore the cats but really want to play with the resident dog. She is scared of my size so we only interact on leash while on walks. I will do best with another large dog in the house, or perhaps being an only dog. My foster mom thinks I would do best in a home with older children or no children. My ideal situation would be a stay-at-home person or someone who works in a shop. I would make an awesome shop dog. I would sleep near you all day and help supervise. I only bark on occasion if I get startled. I also will whine if I am alone for too long, but who doesn’t. I am a people lover! I love chews but do best with soft chew toys and treats as the hard ones hurt my teeth. I can be picky about my food so my foster mom sprinkles just a little cheese on top to encourage me to eat. I usually leave a little food in my bowl and come back to finish it later. I am BIG on hydration and love to drink water. It helps keep me energized and my coat looking shiny. If you think I might be a good fit for your family and you want to hook up. Please fill out an application! Application available at https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application   . Adoption donation of $295 includes spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and heart worm treatment with a positive test prior to adoption. DFW Area Applications can be found online at www.pawsofloverescue.com, under the adopt tab.  We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.  April 16, 2024, 11:36 am
