Story
HI - I'M PACO! I am a sweet 1-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix in need of a forever home! I was rescued from the streets of Ensenada, Mexico, by a compassionate Canadian couple who then tried to find me a home. Eventually I was placed in a rescue and am doing great! Now, I spend my days running around, playing with my doggy pals, and then taking a much needed nap! I weigh only 40 lbs and am a happy, fun-loving boy. I am an affectionate sweetheart and love nothing more than to snuggle. I'm also fully housebroken and great with cats! Personality-wise, I'm quite mellow but I do get excited when I'm showered with love and attention. I can't wait to become someone's best friend! Please email for an application.

Story
Meet Saxon, a very handsome blonde `California Coast Shepherd!` We don`t know if he`s into surfing, and we don`t actually know what breeds might be in his background, but we do know that Saxon arrived with Motley, who`s likely Saxon`s brother and whose coat colors are an interesting blue merle... Both dogs are medium-large with fairly easy-care coats like heelers or short-haired shepherds, lean, athletic builds, and active, intelligent personalities. Although they arrived together, we`re looking for separate adoptive homes for them. Saxon walks nicely on leash and is attentive to his handler, loves to go for walks and adventures, but is a cuddler in calm, indoor settings. He`s met Maya, a female German Shepherd, and enjoyed playing with her. A dog friend in the home may be a match, especially if they`re into active play with plenty of running and bumping. We’d recommend any resident dogs meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. We do not have a history of Saxon with children or cats. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.

Story
At just around 1 year old, Louie is a medium-sized puppy with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This silly, affectionate boy is still learning how to trust and experience the world, but every day he shows more of the playful, lovable spirit that's been inside him all along. He’s a Cattle Dog mix with plenty of curiosity, a soft heart, and a huge love for simple joys — like chasing his buddies around the yard, soaking up the sunshine, and flopping onto your lap for snuggles. With our AZ partners, we rescue pups in need from the Reservation in Navajo Nation. Our Rez pups are truly special; there’s something magical about them that’s hard to put into words — but once you meet them, you’ll understand. Louie is crate trained, potty trained, and getting the hang of his leash skills. He’s also making great strides with his foster’s much larger dogs, slowly building his confidence and learning how to play. One of his favorite things? Romping around the backyard with his fellow Rez dog, Scruffy, and his foster siblings — tail wagging, zoomies flying, and pure puppy joy on full display. When the day winds down, Louie is all about relaxation — whether it’s curling up next to you on the couch or basking in a sunny spot in the yard. He truly LUVs his cozy moments and will melt right into you for cuddles. This sweet, gentle boy is looking for a calm, patient family who can help him continue to grow and blossom into the confident, joyful companion he’s meant to be. If you're ready to offer Louie a safe, LUVing home filled with sunshine, snuggles, backyard adventures, and unconditional love, he can’t wait to meet you! All Mutt Luv Rescue pups receive a full health checkup, heartworm and parasite testing, are fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before adoption. Ready to fall in LUV? Fill out an application to meet Louie and find your new best friend!

Story
Meet Bingo – Your Velcro Best Friend! (New Hampshire) Hi! My name is Bingo, and I’m a ~1-year-old male, neutered Australian Cattle Dog mix with a big heart, big energy, and one adorably floppy ear that steals hearts everywhere I go. If you’re looking for a smart, high-energy, affectionate cuddle bug, congratulations—you’ve found me. My good looks may catch your eye first, but my 11/10 snuggling skills will seal the deal. Movie night? I’m there.Cooking dinner? I’ll supervise.Laundry? I’ll help.Bathroom? …I’ll be watching. I’m a certified Velcro dog and proud of it. About Me Enthusiastic about literally everything Very food-motivated and eager to learn I already know sit, have a pretty solid down, and I’m quickly mastering come, wait, and my release cue “free” My leash skills are still a work in progress—but I improve a LOT when I’m well exercised (which is how I prefer to live )   Energy & LifestyleHigh-activity homes are a MUST for me. I love to run, play, and go full speed all day with my foster brother. I’d thrive with: A dog-friendly, high-energy canine companion Someone interested in dog sports, hiking, running, or other active adventures A human who enjoys training and keeping a smart brain busy ‍‍ Kids & Other Pets I do well with my little foster human and could live with kids in a herding-dog-savvy home Cats? They’re very exciting. I would chase unless a cat is confident enough to set firm boundaries—so a cat-free home is likely best The Heart of ItI’m still just a baby with so much love to give. I’m loyal, eager, affectionate, and ready to bond deeply with my person. I don’t want to share my love forever—I’m hoping to find my very own human to grow with, adventure with, and snuggle forever. If you’re active, patient, and looking for a devoted sidekick, Bingo might just be your perfect match. If you think Bingo  the a perfect fit for you and your family  please submit our adoption application at the link below. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There are some additional fees: $20 microchip transfer fee to register and transfer him to his new furever family. ##2607036##

Story
Meet Bandit! - Fosterd in Florida Bandit is a young and handsome energetic pup. He is around 40lbs and is a year old.  He needs a person willing to spend time continuing his training as he is young and still in the chewing stage. He is treat and attention motivated.  He is crate trained, rides well in car, he has made great strides on leash walking and potty training. Bandit has a silly, fun personality. He is very curious and has a lot of potential, I would say medium to high energy but he does have an off switch.  He was a little nervous during thunderstorms but just needs to know where his person is. Bandit is an all around love bug that gets along well with other dogs, is neutered, current on immunizations and on preventatives. If he sounds perfect for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration ane transfer to his new furever family.  All adoption fees are used for future rescue eforts. ##2085124##
