Story
Meet Bandit! - Fosterd in Florida Bandit is a young and handsome energetic pup. He is around 40lbs and is a year old.  He needs a person willing to spend time continuing his training as he is young and still in the chewing stage. He is treat and attention motivated.  He is crate trained, rides well in car, he has made great strides on leash walking and potty training. Bandit has a silly, fun personality. He is very curious and has a lot of potential, I would say medium to high energy but he does have an off switch.  He was a little nervous during thunderstorms but just needs to know where his person is. Bandit is an all around love bug that gets along well with other dogs, is neutered, current on immunizations and on preventatives. If he sounds perfect for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration ane transfer to his new furever family.  All adoption fees are used for future rescue eforts. ##2085124##

Story
Fostered in Salt Point, NY.    Meet Baby Blue a diamond in the ruff. He is a blue healer mix who is around 2 years old. He came into the shelter as a stray so nothing is known about his earlier life but since coming to my house he has been working on manners and basic obedience. This will need to continue in his new home. He is a big dog at 65 pounds and can be pushy, rude, and sometimes pulls hard while on leash. He loves to cuddle and will force himself onto your lap and flip your hand to make you pet him. He is very active and needs a home who will exercise his body and mind. No cats or small children, he will knock them down, but older dog savy kids are ok. He loves to chew bones, is good loose in the house, and sometimes sleeps upside down in the cutest way. Baby Blue gets along with all the dogs in the house and needs a fenced in yard to run and sunbathe. If you would like more information about Baby Blue I would love to share more. He is currently in foster in Salt Point, NY. Story
At just around 1 year old, Louie is a medium-sized puppy with a big heart and an even bigger personality! This silly, affectionate boy is still learning how to trust and experience the world, but every day he shows more of the playful, lovable spirit that's been inside him all along. He’s a Cattle Dog mix with plenty of curiosity, a soft heart, and a huge love for simple joys — like chasing his buddies around the yard, soaking up the sunshine, and flopping onto your lap for snuggles. With our AZ partners, we rescue pups in need from the Reservation in Navajo Nation. Our Rez pups are truly special; there’s something magical about them that’s hard to put into words — but once you meet them, you’ll understand. Louie is crate trained, potty trained, and getting the hang of his leash skills. He’s also making great strides with his foster’s much larger dogs, slowly building his confidence and learning how to play. One of his favorite things? Romping around the backyard with his fellow Rez dog, Scruffy, and his foster siblings — tail wagging, zoomies flying, and pure puppy joy on full display. When the day winds down, Louie is all about relaxation — whether it’s curling up next to you on the couch or basking in a sunny spot in the yard. He truly LUVs his cozy moments and will melt right into you for cuddles. This sweet, gentle boy is looking for a calm, patient family who can help him continue to grow and blossom into the confident, joyful companion he’s meant to be. If you're ready to offer Louie a safe, LUVing home filled with sunshine, snuggles, backyard adventures, and unconditional love, he can’t wait to meet you! All Mutt Luv Rescue pups receive a full health checkup, heartworm and parasite testing, are fully vaccinated, microchipped, and spayed/neutered before adoption. Ready to fall in LUV? Fill out an application to meet Louie and find your new best friend!

Story
Clover is a 1yo female spayed 30lb cattle dog mix. She is crate trained, learning how to walk on a leash, and is doing well with housebreaking. She does great with other dogs and she really would benefit from living with another more confident dog to follow. She is non-destructive in the house but can be a creative collector of items she stashes lol. She might be fine with an indoor only cat. Please no young children or apartments. She’s a very sweet girl, skittish until she trusts you, but is sweet and not aggressive. She is young and still has a lot to learn what life can offer! Story
11/29/25 15:52Meet Bran, a 4 year old 53 pound male Australian Cattle Dog Mix. Bran is an explorer at heart, and absolutely thrives on walks where he gets to see and sniff the outside world. He loves treats, has great leash manners, is good with a harness and also likes car rides! After a long walk, many volunteers have reported Bran leaning in for some pets and overall being very sweet. If you`re looking for a energetic gentleman who loves to go on long walks, look no further!12/01/25 14:50What did we do on today’s adventure:Bran was so excited to see his buddy, knowing it would be an adventurous morning. They started at Shady Oaks Park with awarm-up lap before getting in their real steps. Lucky for them, it was the perfect day for an adventure and a long hike. The rain had just passed, leaving the air fresh and filled with amazing scents. Bran couldn’t get enough of all the spectacular smells—some were so irresistible that he wanted to roll in them! After walking along Coyote Creek Trail for a while, they reached Heyller Park, where wildlife was enjoying the full lake from the recent rain. Bran loved gazing at the geese and birds taking a dip in the water. He trotted along, soaking in the sights of geese, ducks, and the beauty of nature around him. He and his buddy took a nice water break, munching on hot dogs and string cheese before heading back to Shady Oaks. Bran was very ambitious that morning—he completed a six-mile hike! What Potential Adopters Should Know About Bran:Bran is a true pro-adventurer—a #1 copilot in the car, an amazing hiking buddy, and a devoted foodie. He’s highly intelligent with excellent recall and impressive skills, including knowing how to shake and sit. Bran would be an outstanding candidate for training since he loves food and is eager to learn. Bran is ready to be your #1 copilot, your hiking companion, and yourbest friend.Three words to describe me:Adventurous, Intelligent and Loving11/03/25What did we do on today’s adventure:Hi! I’m Bran. I am just a happy, happy boy who loves to go out for walks! I love sniffing new smells, sticking my head out the window and letting my tongue flap I the wind, and going for a nice long walk. Oh...and I also love humans! So much! I met a new friend today for a “jail” break. I was very happy to see someone new and gave her my biggest smile and tail wag when she met me. We went to Quicksilver park to go on a hike. I was probably a bi

Story
Meet Shuman, Shuman is a beautiful young, fast and sweet, Aussie mix. He is a lean, tall 50 lbs.  Shuman is neutered and UTD on vaccines and Heartworm/flee & tick prevention. He gets along with other well-mannered energetic dogs, but NOT cats. He is playful, loves toys, is good on a leash and is learning Sit, Down & Stay. This is all new to him so continued training will be necessary.  His foster mom thinks of him as a sweet puppy in a teenage dog body. Shuman came to us a little over a month ago from a Central California Shelter. He had been at the shelter for a month or so while awaiting his Stray hold to be done. It seems that Shuman had been on the streets, and it took Animal services a while to catch/trap him. The Shelter staff reached out to find him a foster because he was so shy and shut down. He wouldn’t eat or come out of the corner for affection. It was very unlikely that he would get adopted while at the shelter.  While at his foster home in Northern California, Shuman has taken a while to warm up and begin to trust his foster mom & dad. He is gaining confidence though and with that is showing his true puppylike personality. Though Shuman is still shy with people he does take to some people more quickly than others. He is leery of being caught or grabbed and will need time and lots of patience with his new people. Once Shuman learns to love and trust you, he’ll show his fun silly nature. He may even steal one of your socks to show how much he loves you.  Shuman will need a secure environment with a very well fenced yard. Because Shuman needs time to learn to trust his new people, he may try to ‘escape’ so should be kept on a leash (even in the fenced yard) for the first three weeks in his new home. Foster mom feels Shuman would do well with an active person, maybe someone who would like a running partner.  Shuman- Loves toys, Young dog, puppylike and gaining social confidence Needs other well-behaved dogs to model after NO CATS Chickens- not recommended for New owner- Patient Active and experienced dog owsner-maybe a runner?  If you sound like a great match for Shuman, here is the link to the app: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new family. All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts. This handsome young boy is a sweet Aussie mix who is named after the kind pilot that flew himto his foster family in Auburn, CA.  Shu is a lean, tall 50 lbs., is neutered and UTD on vaccines and Heartworm/flee & tick prevention. He has quite a story… Shuman came from a Central California Shelter where he was not thriving. He was shut downand scared. Even animal control had a heck of a time trapping him off the streets. In the shelter, he was shy and wouldn’t eat or come out of the corner for affection. It was very likely he would have been euthanized had his foster parents not taken a chance to rehabilitate him. He is one lucky pup! Today, less than three months later, Shuman has blossomed. He plays well with other politedogs, loves toys, and is good on a leash. He has been learning some commands while with hisfoster family and knows Sit and Down. He is working on Stay and waiting at the thresholds. Shuman now trusts his foster mom and dad but needs time to warm up to strangers. He hasgained some confidence, and his true puppy-like personality is showing through. He has begunto walk up to neighbors for pets and treats while out on walks and greet his foster family at the door with a wagging tail. Shuman loves his balls too and will bark enthusiastically for ball play. Sometimes he entertains himself by throwing the ball up and catching it. How Aussie is that?Shu is crate trained and will need one in his new home because it’s his safe place when hefeels afraid or needs a break. In the evening, Shuman looks for something to chew on, so hiscrate is a good place for him to enjoy a chew toy or bully stick. You know the saying: You get out of a relationship what you put into it? With Shu, it will be that way. Shuman will need lots of patience with his new people. He occasionally will chew on things. He shouldn't but takes redirection well. He is not a dog you will meet and get lots of love from instantly. He says,” I am no labrador!”  He will need a secure environment with a very well fenced yard; he may try to ‘escape’ if he gets frightened so should be kept on a leash (even in the fenced yard) for the first few weeks in his new home for insurance. Shuman is afraid of quick movements and does not like loud popping noises like gunshots or chopping wood and will seek a place to hide when he hears them. This sweetie has a really good off switch and will relax most of the day but he loves to get his walkies out in the morning and evening so will do well with an active person, maybe someone who would like a running partner. No cats, chickens or other small animals please. Once Shuman learns to love and trust you, he’ll show his fun, silly nature. We think he hasmade incredible gains in a short time and will continue to be a Good Boy with the rightEXPERIENCED family. He may even ‘sit pretty’ and put his paws on you for affection which isso endearing; when he does this, you’ll know you’ve become his person. Please consider thisboy. He deserves a soft warm bed with you to cuddle with! If he sounds perfect for your family, here is the application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoptions There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.   All adoption fees are used for future rescue efforts. Shuman-Sweet and silly, but nervous initiallyCrate trained, knows basic commands (Sit, Down, Wait, Leave-it)Clever and trainableGood on a leashWill run if frightenedHard to retrieveGood with dog savvy Cats You-Very Patient handler (preferably Female)Very secure home environment and yardWilling to use a crateChildren over 8 y/o okayHave another friendly dog Hi! I’m Shuman, Cool name huh? I am named after the very kind pilot that flew me from central California to my Foster family in Auburn Ca. The flight was terrifying for me but not as bad as being left on the streets to fend for myself or the loud and scary shelter ASF rescued me from. That all seems ages ago. I’ve been with my foster family for eight months now! I love them, they are so kind and have helped me become confident and healthy. These days, I play with their dogs nicely, sleep in a comfy crate and go on trips with them. I would love to have a young dog friend to play with when I go to my new home. I am a nervous guy and having another friendly dog around who knows the ropes helps me to feel safe. I love meeting new people, and it would be so nice to meet you! I might not show you my best qualities right away though. I’ll need some time to learn to trust you, but when I do… I am certain you’ll love my goofy, fun personality. I’ve been learning about kitties and chickens and have gotten a lot better about listening to my foster parents about not chasing them when they say ‘Leave It’. I would really like to chase them though. My foster parents are careful that I don’t and they taught me to play fetch to help me get my chase needs met. And now… I LIVE for the ball! My foster parents think I had a mixed past, one of love and of some harsh treatment. They say I am adorable and think I’d been trained to do some very cute things. BUT, I am also very nervous around loud noises and quick movements, especially when people move their feet quickly. Sometimes, even the toaster frightens me and when it does, I run to my crate or hideunder the desk with my nose in the corner. I’m a really good dog if I am not bored and have a secure place to be. I like to go for walks, and I like a lot of time to sniff around and explore. I know it’s best to do this with my owner, but if they don’t take me on walks, I will go by myself given the chance. I rest well after 15 minutes or so of ball play a couple of times a day and a walk. I really like to run so would like a big secure yard to play in. I’d like to go for hikes with you but I need to be kept on a leash. I am curious and when I get frightened, I run away. Sometimes when we go for walks, I get to see other dogs and little humans. I like meeting them all and am very curious about the little humans, they seem familiar to me. I take treats nicely from them but I would also like to herd them. Foster mom thinks I’ll knock them down so she doesn’t let me play with them. From my foster mom:Shuman is a 1.5 - 2 y/o Male Border Collie mix. He weighs about 50 lbs., is neutered, microchipped and UTD on vaccines and Heartworm/flea & tick prevention. Shuman will take more time to warm up and feel comfortable in a new home than some other dogs. His new family will need to be very patient, gentle and willing to work with a trainer if needed. Experience with working dogs is also required. You’ll need to be able to keep him secure because, true to his Border Collie nature, he is clever and will find a way to escape if he feels afraid or bored. He is very difficult to retrieve if he gets loose when he is frightened. We keep him indoors (crated) or in a very secure yard when we leave the house. When we take him to new places, we keep him on a long leash until we are confident that he’ll come back to us. These days, if we keep him engaged by playing ball or other games, he stays with us. Though Shuman is sweet to children, I suspect his herding nature will be an issue so I don’t recommend he live with children younger than 8 y/o.  We think Shuman would also do best withprimarily a Female handler. If interested in Shuman please contact Australian Shepherds Furever ataustralianshepherdsfurever@gmail.com or fill out an application found herehttps://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family. ##2136526##
