Story
Banjo is a gentle, loyal dog looking for a calm home and a person who loves the simple comfort of having a quiet companion by their side. He settles at your feet, follows you from room to room, and brings a soft ease to the day just by being near. He loves slow mornings, warm light through the windows, soft blankets, and the peaceful rhythm of being close to his person. Inside he is intuitive and easy to live with. Outside he enjoys fresh air, walking, and exploring. He takes in the world with curiosity. Banjo is looking for a peaceful adult-only home because busy or unpredictable environments can feel overwhelming for him. In a quiet space he shines and becomes affectionate, steady, and deeply connected to the person he trusts. If you are hoping for a calm, intelligent, and loving companion who brings warmth and quiet joy into your home, Banjo may be the good boy you have been waiting for.

Story
Clover is a 1yo female spayed 30lb cattle dog mix. She is crate trained, learning how to walk on a leash, and is doing well with housebreaking. She does great with other dogs and she really would benefit from living with another more confident dog to follow. She is non-destructive in the house but can be a creative collector of items she stashes lol. She might be fine with an indoor only cat. Please no young children or apartments. She’s a very sweet girl, skittish until she trusts you, but is sweet and not aggressive. She is young and still has a lot to learn what life can offer! Please contact Diana at (510) 333-4420 or theperfectdogrescue@gmail.com or fill out the adoption application:  http://www.theperfectdog.org/TPDadoptapp.doc September 11, 2025, 5:50 pm

Bright has been blossoming at his own pace — and watching that transformation has been one of the most rewarding parts of fostering him.   A Quiet, Sensitive Soul Learning to Shine   When Bright first arrived, he was so frightened that he clung to his foster for comfort, unsure of the world around him. Today, he has made tremendous progress. He now follows his foster gently from room to room, curls up beside her during the workday, and checks in with soft eyes to make sure he’s still close to his person. He’s a classic little velcro dog who enjoys companionship and feels most secure when he can keep his trusted human in sight. Bright isn’t a natural cuddler yet — he prefers to quietly settle next to you or rest at your feet — but he gladly melts in for head rubs and chin scratches once he feels safe. His sweetness is unmistakable.   Daily Routine & Good Manners   Bright starts his day early with a 6 a.m. potty trip in the backyard, then tucks back in for more sleep until around 8 a.m. He enjoys a couple of short walks each day, plus backyard potty breaks every few hours. He’s been improving steadily with housetraining and usually goes in the yard where he feels comfortable. He’s still working up the courage to potty on walks, but he’s trying hard and happily celebrates with a “puppy party” when he succeeds. He eats two small meals per day (½ cup AM and PM). Because he was initially scared around food, he often prefers to finish his meals when no one is watching — but he’s gaining confidence daily and now enjoys treats, training games, and chewing a cow’s ear while relaxing.   Bright is wonderfully polite: he doesn’t bark, doesn’t jump on furniture, waits patiently at doorways, and rides calmly in the car in his crate with his cushy liner. He sleeps quietly at night on his chosen cozy spot (currently a handmade felted purse he flattened into a self-made bed!).   Training & Emerging Playfulness   Bright LOVES training games. He proudly knows Touch, Find It, and Leave It, and responds to his name with enthusiasm. These little wins have been huge for his confidence. While toys are still a bit new and intimidating, he’s slowly exploring them — nibbling on tags, investigating Lambie, and watching with interest. Because he listens closely, wants to please, and is incredibly gentle, he will be a joy to continue training as he grows braver.   Out and About   Bright walks well on his harness, stays close, and doesn’t pull. He’s afraid of loud noises (leaf blowers, squeaky shoes, sudden sounds) and can be nervous when cars pass, but he recovers and keeps trying. He doesn’t react to other dogs — he simply watches calmly and keeps moving. He’s also gone on several weekend adventures, from outdoor breakfasts to strolls through downtown San Carlos and even to a knitting shop in San Jose. He stays close to his foster’s feet, quietly taking in the world without begging or fussing.   Why Bright Is So Special   Bright is the kind of dog who quietly wins your heart. He tries so hard to be good, listens beautifully, and has a sweetness that shines through even when he’s unsure. His pretty ACD-style spotting, his attentive nature, and his soft, expressive face make him unforgettable. As his foster says, “He just wants to do the right thing all the time.”     Bright is ready for a family who can help his confidence continue to grow and who will treasure the sweet, sensitive companion he is. Whoever adopts him is going to be very lucky.  December 14, 2025, 4:46 pm

Story
Meet Bandit! - Fosterd in Florida Bandit is a young and handsome energetic pup. He is around 40lbs and is a year old.  He needs a person willing to spend time continuing his training as he is young and still in the chewing stage. He is treat and attention motivated.  He is crate trained, rides well in car, he has made great strides on leash walking and potty training. Bandit has a silly, fun personality. He is very curious and has a lot of potential, I would say medium to high energy but he does have an off switch.  He was a little nervous during thunderstorms but just needs to know where his person is. Bandit is an all around love bug that gets along well with other dogs, is neutered, current on immunizations and on preventatives. If he sounds perfect for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration ane transfer to his new furever family.  All adoption fees are used for future rescue eforts. ##2085124##

Story
Fostered in Salt Point, NY.    Meet Baby Blue a diamond in the ruff. He is a blue healer mix who is around 2 years old. He came into the shelter as a stray so nothing is known about his earlier life but since coming to my house he has been working on manners and basic obedience. This will need to continue in his new home. He is a big dog at 65 pounds and can be pushy, rude, and sometimes pulls hard while on leash. He loves to cuddle and will force himself onto your lap and flip your hand to make you pet him. He is very active and needs a home who will exercise his body and mind. No cats or small children, he will knock them down, but older dog savy kids are ok. He loves to chew bones, is good loose in the house, and sometimes sleeps upside down in the cutest way. Baby Blue gets along with all the dogs in the house and needs a fenced in yard to run and sunbathe. If you would like more information about Baby Blue I would love to share more. He is currently in foster in Salt Point, NY. If you think Baby Blue is the a perfect fit for you and your family  please submit our adoption application at the link below. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There are some additional fees: $20 microchip transfer fee to register and transfer him to his new furever family. ##2089054##
