Story
This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Black Jack is a 3‑year‑old, 56‑pound Blue Heeler who has quickly become one of the friendliest, most affectionate dogs we’ve ever met. From the moment he arrived, he made it clear that people are his whole world. Every volunteer he meets becomes his instant best friend, and he soaks up attention like he’s been waiting his entire life for it. He is incredibly sweet, gentle, and eager for affection. Whether it’s leaning in for pets, wagging his whole body the moment someone looks his way, or greeting every new person with bright eyes and a soft heart, Black Jack has shown over and over that he loves people. Truly loves them. While his past wasn’t filled with the companionship he deserved, Black Jack’s personality shines as if he’s been loved every day. He embodies resilience, warmth, and gratitude. Give him a kind word or a gentle touch, and he lights up instantly. Black Jack is ready for a home that will give him what he’s always wanted—love, attention, and someone to call his person. If you’re looking for a dog who will return your affection tenfold and greet you every day like you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to him, Black Jack is your boy. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, 4dx tested. If you are serious about adoption, please fill out the adoption application on our website www.phoenixanimalrescue.com His adoption fee is $500. Story
We rescued Pickles from the BVSPCA at 3 months old. He is a sweet and playful pup, and so loyal to his favorite person! He is housebroken, and understands commands, and still has his puppy energy. He has a gastro issue that we have been trying to get to the bottom of. His blood panel was fine, but the vet thinks it might be an inflammatory bowel issue. He is on a specialized prescription food, and takes probiotics daily, but still gets diarreah. He also is very very into eating poop that it has become an issue for us with another dog. Pickles would probably be best being the only dog in the household, and needs someone willing to help him get through this gastro issue. The vet has said he could grow out of it, but can't guarantee that. We love him so much, and have really bonded with him, but our senior aged dog struggles with his behavior. He loves playing fetch, and snuggling. He still needs some basic training, but overall is a good dog. We want him to find a loving home!

Please contact Marilyn at 856-275-6905 for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Newark, DE. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application/ to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 856-275-6905 (call or text) or via email at Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com&#226&#128&#139 Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 January 27, 2026, 1:19 pm

Please call 302-333-2791 if interested in meeting Maggie. Maggie is up to date with her vaccines. She is aggressive with other dogs if she sees them from distance. She goes to PetSmart for her baths and no one has ever complained about how she reacts with other dogs in there. She chase after squirrels and cats when we walk together.January 10, 2026, 8:11 pm
