Story
Meet Ruca! Ruca is a 6 year old pure bred cattle dog. My boyfriend got Ruca as a puppy with a former partner. 4 years ago they split and have been no contact. Last week, we got a call from a vets office that some very kind folk found Ruca tied to a pole in center city. We quickly swooped in to bring her home and make sure she was safe while we got to the bottom of how she got there. Ruca’s mom is no longer able to care for Ruca. Ruca is so very sweet and deserves a home where she can get all the love and attention she needs. She’s a dream on the leash. She’s sweet and smart and gentle. Ruca has that cattle dog energy, but settles at your feet when it’s time to relax or get some work done. She loves a tennis ball. She rides in the car quietly and politely. She greets everyone she meets with a wagging tail. I would love to keep Ruca, but I already have a dog and my lease doesn’t allow for a second and I am not in a position to move. She’s up to date on all vaccines.

Story
Meet Roxanne! This sweet cattle dog mix is such a cuddle bug! At just four months old, she is already keeping her indoor area clean and goes outside to potty. Roxanne does well with other dogs and cats and loves attention. At this time, she is not a fan of being crated but does well outside of her crate. Roxanne’s current foster says she is absolutely precious and she could just hold her all day long. If this sounds like the pup for you, please complete an application at https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. Story
Ever wonder if it is even possible for show stopping beauty, an amazing brain, AND a five-star winning personality to come in the same package?! Lucky for you — they do for this sweet girl! Juniper is a treasure of a dog, waiting for her forever home. Just look at those beautiful, bright amber eyes and freckled nose. Juniper is a gorgeous girl and a perfect medium size. She always upbeat and carries a smile on her face. Besides her looks, Juniper is also a very smart, trainable girl. The sky is the limit for her. She’s eager to learn. She’s also pretty athletic so she would be a great running companion. Or maybe you’ve always wanted to try dog sports like agility. Juniper would be perfect! And best of all, Juniper has a very sweet disposition with every person she meets. She craves attention from her people and will be a loyal companion for years to come! She would be perfectly content being an only dog or possibly one other canine companion that suits her fancy. She's doggy selective, and would need a little time to warm up to a new BFF once they know she's in charge of the playtime antics. Juniper is a year or two old, 40-45 lb.

Story
Paris is a sensitive, sweet girl who can be very nervous when meeting new people—but don’t let that scare you. Once she feels safe and builds trust, she blossoms into a deeply loving and loyal companion. Staff loves to be greeted by Paris because she dances with joy! When she sees people, she is connected with, she starts to wiggle. Paris enjoys being outside, discovering new smells, and taking calm walks with her person right by her side. Paris loves learning and is especially motivated by string cheese—she thrives when her brain stays busy and active with fun challenges and enrichment. She needs to be the only pet in the home and will do best in a very patient, quiet, calm, and loving environment where she can feel secure; she’s open to meet kids over the age of 12. With the right home, Paris is ready to give her whole heart.---------------------------------------------------------If you are interested in adopting, please visit Women`s Animal Center to fill out an application in person. Meet Gravy! He's an 8-month-old, 45-to-50-pound Lab/Hound mix with a sparkling personality. A member of our breakfast litter, he's the only one not yet adopted. We hate to think that this is because of his missing right rear paw. After all, you'd never know by watching him romp around the play yard with the other dogs! Playful, goofy and loving, Gravy is wonderful to watch! A true delight! Story
Looking for a smart, loyal companion? Say hello to Noah! This handsome 1-year-old, 39lb Cattle Dog mix with a coat as unique as his personality. He’s got those classic black-and-white markings with adorable speckled spots that will make you fall in love at first sight. Noah is the perfect blend of puppy energy and adult manners. He’s already mastered the "big dog" basics: he is both house trained and crate trained, making his transition into your home a breeze. A Note on Noah’s Health: Noah is currently heartworm positive, but don't let that scare you! Heartworms are not contagious to other pets or people, and Noah is currently beginning his journey to being 100% healthy. What treatment looks like: Medicine: Noah will undergo a series of injections (and usually a round of antibiotics) to eliminate the heartworms. Treatment costs are covered by the rescue. The "Slow Life": The most important part of his recovery is keeping him calm and quiet during treatment—think "leash walks only" and lots of mental stimulation like puzzle toys instead of high-speed chasing. The Finish Line: Once treatment is complete and he tests negative, he can return to his full, active self! Noah is looking for a "healing hero" to help him through this temporary phase. In exchange, he promises a lifetime of loyalty and speckled snuggles. Apply to adopt Noah at oneloveanimalresue.org.To be considered as this pet's adopter, please go to  https://oneloveanimalrescue.org/adoption-applications/dog-application/ to complete your application. Story
Dear Peter came in to the shelter with horribly bad skin. He’s been treated and it’s filling back in. As miserable as he must have felt he was still sweet. He’s a calm gentle guy that could probably fit in to mast homes. He’s on the smaller side to so he promises not to take up to much room. If you already have a dog in the home we will try a dog meet with Peter to see if he will be happy with a fur sibling. Come meet this guy soon.

Story
This is Butters, a full bred red Merle Aussie. I got her when she was 8 weeks old from a farm in Airville PA. She is currently 5, her birthday is March 6th. She is fully trained. I trained her myself. She knows some tricks, what “go up” and “go down” the stairs means, gimmie kiss, on and off leashed trained, potty trained, etc. She’s a wonderful dog and this hurts my heart to do this but I want her to be happy and SHE NEEDS SPACE TO RUN AND PLAY. She is a protector but she’s not mean. She didn’t grow up around kids so id recommend no small children. She is very protective of me and really a sweety pie but the jealous type so its best she goes to a home without other dogs. She loves to chase the squirrels but if you catch it with your eyes before she does and tell her to “leave it” she will. This is my baby but I want her to have the best life possible and I’m unable to provide that to her right now.

Story
This handsome fellow and his siblings came in to rescue last winter after they were dumped on a back country road. Their mother was found deceased, so we took the puppies in to try to save them. They were very sick initially but are very healthy now. Big boy is a gentle boy but does love to run and play with other dogs. Big boy was the largest of the puppies, but his siblings have caught up to him. He has done amazing with his house and crate training. He is so deserving of a wonderful home to call his own. He is fostered in East TN, but transportation is included in the adoption fee and provided by Rescue Riders LLC. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please email us for the link to the adoption application (His adoption fee is only to cover transport and health certificate to travel to another state.)
