Story
Hugo is approximately 8 years old. He is a purebred Australian Shepherd. I've had him since he was a puppy, he does well with other pets but is extremely jealous of my young kids. He has some accidents in the house and if there is food left out, he will get into it. Overall, he's a good dog but he does not fit in with our lifestyle anymore. I think he would do best with an older couple who is home often or able to take him with them when they leave the home. Willing to reduce or waive adoption fee for the right person.

Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
