Story
Hello, I'm Xena! I was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of my own, my owner was moving and couldn't take me with them. Because I'm a cattle dog I do have some of the breeds typical characteristics...including the attitude. A family that has experience with my breed would be fantastic! Ideally I need someone that will work on my behaviors with me and make me realize I shouldn't be so bossy. I'm a pretty shy girl at first but give me some time to warm up and I'll be your best friend. I'll need to meet you a few times until I feel comfortable. I love treats and tennis balls! I'd prefer an adult only home or one with older kids that can give me some space while I settle into my new home. Once I bond with you, I may have some separation anxiety if I'm left home alone. My friends here can explain more about how to manage that with me when you come to meet me :). I lived with a cat previously and I adored them. If I may seem like the girl for you, reach out to my friends here to come meet me! The Center for Animal Health and Welfare, PA Kennel License #02941, 1165 Island Park Rd, Easton, PA 18042

Story
Meet Jessie's Girl!  This pretty girl is affectionate, playful, intelligent, and has lots of energy (but also has a "chill" side too).  Jessie absolutely loves attention and would make a great family pet with kids, dogs or cats. She has a submissive and sweet personality that you will fall in love with quickly. She is a bit shy with new people and dogs but very friendly with absolutely no trace of aggression. Jessie would make a great companion for an active family or someone who runs, cycles, and likes to hike.  Jessie loves to play and go for walks - she also loves her toys and if you play with her with a frisbee, ball, tug, or squeak toy she will be your BFF for life! She would love  an active family (maybe someone who jogs or cycles) or living on a large piece of property where she can run. Jessie is 3 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. - she is full grown so she's "right sized" for just about any home situation. She is also housetrained, good on a leash and a very good listener. We think Jessie is probably all or mostly Red Heeler (aka Cattle Dog).  If you are interested in meeting Jessie, please fill out an adoption application at www.northstarpets.org and be sure to mention her name!February 20, 2024, 3:22 pm

Story
CAMMIE is a sweet, calmer but playful 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Red Tick Hound mix who wants to please her humans. An adopter who will give her love, attention and spend time with her, including her in their lives, would be the best fit. She has a good calm medium energy level where she's up for adventures with her people but also knows how to relax at times. Cammie would be a great hiking, jogging and/or daily walking partner. She loves affection from her people, food and chasing squirrels.  Cammie is housetrained & crate trained. She is dog friendly, but also can be the only dog in your home. She is not a fan of other dogs around her food, but has no issues with people near her food. She is child friendly, but due to her playfulness and size, we are recommending older children. Cammie sleeps through the night on her own bed or in her crate in her foster's room. Cammie walks well on leash without pulling, but will need more work for off leash recall.  She's completely trustworthy left alone unattended outside of her crate!! Cammie rarely gets on the furniture, is not a jumper and does not have a hyper energy. She is not a big barker, but will alert you to strangers outside the house, especially if they have dogs with them.  Cammie is a quick learner, treat motivated and has picked up some basic commands 'sit, go home, no' and would be happy to learn more. Due to prey drive, she will not be adopted to a home with cats or small critters. Apartments can be considered if the adopter has an active lifestyle and will get her out for daily exercise. Cammie is 65 lbs, spayed. microchipped, up to date on vaccines, including rabies, heartworm negative and current on prevention.   Get your application in for Cammie and we can send you video and facetime with her and her foster family. If you are interested in adopting Cammie please email mkpeinado@yahoo.com. Her adoption fee is $300 and transport fee is $250. Story
Aiden is about 3 1/2 years old and 39 lbs. He LOVES to play and is fabulous with other dogs and children. Aiden is also very shy and skittish to start, though. He would do best with a low traffic, calm home and a confident dog buddy already in the house who could keep him company and a family that is able to socialize & train him. In the end, he would love a family of his own!  A note from the boy himself- “Hi, I'm Aiden! I am a pup that loves all - humans and animals alike! I do need some time to warm up to new environments, but once I do, I am funny, quirky, and very playful!  I like finding cozy spots where I can nap and relax but also be able to see what is going on around me. I am curious and very observant. I enjoy getting pets (chin and ear scratches are my favorite!). I am picking things up very quickly from my foster humans and foster doggy brothers.  I am house and crate trained and I have EXCELLENT leash manners! I love a neighborhood walk and outdoor play time with other dogs. Running/galloping in enclosed areas puts me in my happy place .    I would do well in a home with other pup(s) that I can pick things up and gain confidence from. I am still a little shy at first, but am looking to break out of my shell and become a socialite.” Apply to adopt at EHRdogs.orgFebruary 21, 2024, 12:49 pm
