Story
Maverick loves butt scratches and is walking well on leash. He isn’t super interested in playing with toys however he will play for a bit. His previous owner seemed to just let him out in the backyard and did not teach him commands or walk him much but our staff have been working with him and now Maverick knows how to sit and really enjoys taking walks in the woods. Maverick is anxious around other dogs so he would do best in a home as an only dog. He is sensitive about anything done around his neck but we have been working with him on this and able to put a collar/leash on. He will need an owner who is experienced with working breeds and will continue to work with him on this to get him comfortable with that and to give him the structure he needs. Maverick would love to have someone give him a chance to have a home of his own. Maverick is about 5 years old and 44 pounds. Please help Maverick find a loving family of his own. We do NOT ship our animals. All adoptive families must travel to us to meet their adoptive dog/cat. Applicants must live within a 2 hour radius from Sparta/Andover (07871/07821). Introducing Cedar, a charming 7-year-old and 68 lb boy! This guy is a bundle of joy, adored by everyone he meets. Whether he's playing with people or other dogs, Cedar's loving nature shines through. He's always up for an adventure, whether it's exploring the great outdoors or snuggling up for some quality time. He rides well in the car and LOVES to play in the kiddie pool. Sadly, Cedar is in need of a new home when his owner developed allergies. Whoever adopts him will be gaining a very loyal and affectionate friend for life. He is house trained, crate trained, and all around a fun dog. Apply to adopt CEDAR NJ at www.ehrdogs.org November 29, 2025, 7:02 pm

Story
Hi there! I’m Patriot and  I’m ready to win your heart like a true little hero! I’m a 4-month-old Cattle Dog mix, about 25 lbs of puppy charm, rescued from Louisiana along with my mom, Poppet, and my brother (they’re looking for homes, too)!   I’m a happy, playful, curious pup who loves everyone I meet including other dogs and children. Life is an adventure to me, whether I’m chasing toys, exploring new smells, or solving my next “mystery” (aka a puzzle toy). My foster says I’m super smart — I’ve mastered level 1–3 puzzle toys and even figured out how to jump the indoor fence. Don’t worry, I’m not trying to escape — I just want to be close to my people. I’m bold, observant, and full of energy, but I’ve also got a sweet and snuggly side. When I’m all tuckered out, I’ll curl right up next to you and sometimes flop on my back, belly-up, dreaming about my next adventure. I love belly rubs, ear scratches, and back-of-the-head rubs — that’s my sweet spot! I’m also learning quickly.  I can focus for about 30 minutes during training (pretty impressive, right?), and I’m super food-motivated, which means I’ll be a star student for snacks. With visual hand cues I know some basic commands: sit, stand, down, place, crate, touch, spin, stay (for about 30 seconds). I love to fetch… I just haven’t quite mastered the “bring it back” part yet. Baby steps!  So if you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who is smart, silly, loving, and always up for fun — I’m your guy. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and plenty of cuddles to your home. I’m microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and my adoption fee is $495. Ready to make me your newest adventure buddy? Apply to adopt me, PATRIOT LOUISIANA at EHRDOGS.ORG!December 6, 2025, 3:25 am

Story
Meet Pacino! His name means peace and with his happy heart and gentle spirit, Pacino is sure to bring plenty of it to your home! This 4-month-old Cattle Dog mix (around 20 lbs of cuteness) came to Eleventh Hour Rescue all the way from Louisiana with his mom, Poppet, and sister. Now he’s ready to start a new chapter with a forever family of his own! He’s playful, friendly, and social with both dogs and chickens (yes, chickens!). He takes corrections well when he gets a little too excited with his dog friends, and he’s super smart for such a young pup — he sleeps through the night in his crate, rarely has accidents, and goes potty right away when you take him outside. Pacino has the softest fur, the cutest bat-like ears, and a big happy heart that just wants to be near his people. He’ll follow you everywhere, shower you with kisses, and keep you laughing with his goofy puppy antics like sliding down hills on his belly just for fun (see his video)! Pacino may be full of energy and zoomies, but he also enjoys a good nap while you get work done. He’s that perfect mix of fun, snuggly, and easygoing. The total package! Pacino is microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccines.  His adoption fee is $495. Bring Pacino home and let a little peace and puppy joy fill your life. Apply to adopt PACINO LOUISIANA at EHRDOGS.ORG November 29, 2025, 12:28 am
